Flatten the hills as promised
Remove salt from the seas
Remove the east from the west
Make all directions point north and south
Make babies return to the womb
Make mothers change their tune
Turn the corner of your mind to the sublime
Turn the tumbling tides into suggestions
From the inside out into a question
Turn bread and wine into Yourself
Before You rise, before our eyes
Promise to leave us to our devices
Be they battery operated or electric
Promise to save us from ourselves
Before we drown, before the power outage
Whenever I sat down
in front of the store,
my mind would go
elsewhere. Huge
clouds surrounding
and lifting me up
where the airplanes
and birds meet.
Over my shoulder,
I hear my mom calling
out to me, "Hija"
translated to English
"My daughter"
then I saw more
voices within the same
clouds that took
me far away from
my corner. Past
teachers yelling
to pay attention.
Former friends fading
into mist after graduation.
All the clients flashing
like car lights mixed
with blue and white.
My head as a potted
plant, too big to sprout,
as the roots tangle
deep in my thoughts.
My surroundings trans-
lucent and opaque,
frivolous to its desires.
The more my vision
became impaired,
I began to see clearly.
No distractions,
No contemplations,
No over analyzations,
just the wind's
gaze blowing
in my direction
...
Soft grey veils descend on the plains,
The world grows quiet, hushed and blurred;
I stroll back home amidst the fog
Without a sense of direction.
My breath makes cold and hazy clouds,
Lost in this murky frosty shroud,
My thoughts start to roam far and wide
Where worries waltz and fade away.
Letters from Thrídrangar Lighthouse
I stand on top and wave to you across the sea,
From the loneliest house the world has ever known.
Like a lost star hung over the cold north.
Silence breaks when storms hit the stone walls,
Moon sends his light and calls my name for sure.
The air is freezing on the roof, I feel like a sinking boat.
I am the keeper here, in this white-walled place,
Writing you letters, my beloved, in short.
One day you will read them and send flowers back.
Sometimes I seal my words inside a bottle,
Throw it from the tower where the ships go past,
Hoping the tide will carry it to you.
This light shows ships the way through the vast sea,
So they will not be lost when the night grows black.
But my letters are lost in the weight of the sea.
A lighthouse is the last hope for those without direction,
The one thing that calls them home again.
I keep the light. I keep waiting.
Stop walking
in the opposite direction
of God's blessings.
Stop using
human imperfections
as the excuse
for moving
in the opposite direction
of spiritual light.
Stop running
in the opposite direction
of God's Grace.
Stop using
we all fall short of the mark
as the excuse.
You possess free will.
You know right from wrong.
So,
Stop walking
in the opposite direction
of God's blessings.
heart knows
right direction
what path you should follow
let it lead you with openness
happy
Dirction without reflection, brings
You to; false effects, a life of little
Sincerity' is also one; of no;
Lasting affections.'
When This Direction Be The Vector
The death found in this valley’s shadow
A path with destination known
Attracting the frequency of the unknown
A deer, caught in this head, lights
Picture's these frozen moment in time
The reason why “X” marks the spot
From which all Abundance flows
I put you on the back burner just like you did with our relationship
Pertaining to people of particular properties
who ignoring inherent danger
within minutes of first meeting
insist on telling every stranger
their personal preferences
and why they persist is beyond my ken
it never occurred to me to do the same in the past
however and in the hope my name it won't sully
the following admission is my first and last
altho' merely an instance of happenstance
as perceived I am as one with an arrow
conceived born and bred
in the bones to the marrow
I may be crazy as a loon
mad as a hatter
nuttty as a fruitcake
pick the one you prefer it doesn't matter
for at the end of the day I am who I am
in every way and all it engenders
and except in the face of a lady's love
this upstanding gentleman never surrenders
Disillusioned.
Growing frustration.
Deepening dissatisfaction.
No dreams. No direction.
Lost in all that's artificial.
Looking for clarity and meaning.
Leading the way in today's world for survival
A loser til you’re not.
Not a loser, a hotshot.
Keep on climbing
past wings and whatnot.
Looking down at your past;
can’t bypass your sins.
However, newfallen snow
will cover them; do not
cover them up; reminders
of the valley you dug
all by yourself; together
there is a you’ll-make-it.
Joy lets you taste manna
falling onto your tongue
and the juice of the grape
without distillation -
body and blood;
you’re a newborn babe.
When the trumpet sounds
you will not fall.
You’ll see the risen son
and thank God, and thank God.
Leaf dies in air
Trees going bare
Death stalks the woods
Of those athletically good
Sweating summer heat
In games where they compete
Never do they cheat
Being honest and true
Acting cool
Laughing fools
Champions determined
Life lessons learning
Decision final and confirmed
Hardware issue no longer a concern
Northern success exposed
Confederates propose
Move inside
Red lights will guide
Scores made
Making the grade
Finally, a trade
Check signed, saying paid
Shutting mouth
Going south
Community warm
Staying in University dorm
Will make this undergraduate program a winner
Before the all-inclusive meal plan dinner
Then off to the library and study
Learn how to make, investment money
Earning a degree, that is what is funny
Since making field goals really wasn’t a realistic thing
Along with not being able to sing
But books in print
Will hint
Proper direction
After securing academic protection
Escaped the hostile city madness
Found my soul in the country air
~ Realigning with my true north
