REAL?

Time was a man was known for what he did
Or didn’t do
Did you stand for the flag
Did you fight for the Red, White, and Blue?

Did you keep it real?
Say what you feel?
Work with your hands
And the iron and steel?
Stand on your word?
Make a fair deal?
And bow your head
And take time to kneel?
Do you keep it real?

Are those days all in the past?
Have we lost our direction, and common sense?
Surrendered our honor, our liberty
To straddle the fence?

Can’t keep it real
Or say what you feel
We’re working remote
With AI not steel
Promise in pencil
Look for the steal
Look down our nose
Force others to kneel
And then call it
Keeping it real

Premium Member Stirrings Of The Soul Good Direction !

"Heart sets up vibration echoing wordless intent, mind translates in symbols
the flight of our soul’s ascent ! "

Where does the wind blow through when the soul is having its drink?
Intent on learning, living, giving, receiving, how does it come to glow?
If the stirrings of the soul are mayhap God's way of conferring, lets sink
into the abysses of His love agape and sip from the fountain of His know!

Does ascension of the soul happen while on earth or does it begin up there?
Are we aiming to grow like wild weeds, between the cracks of a sidewalk?
If the waterwheel of life is being turned by an invisible hand from thin air,
then we must be Kenetic energy, just like the water that falls by the clock.

Oh how our lives glow when we choose to take one single step for mankind
Oh how our hearts grow wise as we choose to live through Avian connection
Where does the wind blow through each time we are being loving and kind?
If stirrings of the soul mean ascension then we better give it good direction !

He Gave Us More

Being weary of our direction
No guidance which way to go
We cried out Lord please help us
He pointed His finger, that way now go
With the new land of milk and honey
We grew dependent upon the Lord
He gave us all we needed
And continued to give us more
Thank You Lord for Your goodness
We'll remember Your kindness indeed
Oh Lord how do we ever repay You?
He said start over, plant a new seed

A Mother's Love

From the beginning
Your love held me in good stead
Keeping my soul with constancy

Before my eyes discerned the light
Before my hands discovered their might
Before my mouth your name could say
Before my feet could find their way
Before my ears could give direction
Before my heart savored your affection

From the beginning
Your love held me in good stead
Keeping my soul with constancy

Imbalance

Feet walking with direction and decision

Mouth speaking sweet words

Not riddled with derision

Heart beating for pure love

With no malice or spite

Eyes seeking and finding acceptance

With no attachment of wrong or right

Ears listening for a moment of bonding

Not tools for inspection

Head held high with pride, positivity, and deep reflection

Facing Reality

Recovery can be the biggest blessing you ever receive
Yet at the same time also being the highest mountain you have ever had to climb
One minute the adrenaline is pumping
Then the very next your finding yourself trapped within your or thoughts
Stuck facing reality without a clear set of directions
Realizing that there is no map to guide you
Understanding it looks different for everyone
Knowing for some, it may be complete smooth sailing
While also knowing that for others, it may also be like trying to stay dry in a monsoon with a faulty umbrella
For the first time having to see that it’s OK to not be perfect
Seeing your reflection in the mirror
A totally different person than you’re used to
One who is facing reality head on with pride
No longer hiding in the shadows, afraid of what others may think
Instead being genuinely yourself with no apologies or lies to hide the truth

Humanity

This is a contest entry for Law of Physics and Humanity. The topic I chose was quantum superposition. Look back into your own life, use choices with what outcomes that could've been. For example being stuck behind a slow driver to only see that the car ahead of them wrecked. Each possibility is a state and there are infinite ones of them. This is my poem about the probability of your life.

Vector spaces give us the direction,
A part of the answer to your question,
What is superposition in quantum you're asking,
Plenty of types of vector for electron to proton masking,
The masking of possible probability of infinite states,
This is what Schrodinger's cat dictates,
Infinite outcomes until finally observed,
Taking the amount of measures then probability is preserved,
Applied to life supplies what state you're in,
Plus the probability of what you could have been.

Right Direction

How far the road is
As long it's right direction
You can still reach.

What would you do?

Without my partner, our kids, mates, and family,
I'd be lost, adrift, no direction.
Literally up the creek without a paddle.

What would I do?
How would we navigate alone?
So many wrong choices we'd inevitably make.

No advice to steer us through life's storms,
No support in moments of doubt.
Who'd be there to listen,
To offer a shoulder, a kind word?

It's hard to fathom,
How I'd manage without that network.
Especially when strangers are just that,
Unknown, uncertain.

Without yours,
What would you do?

Trust The Direction

Into the cracks of a scripted mind
You will find what lies beyond
It's a collection of misguided thoughts
An a illusion of what was
A charted journey laid out by an unreachable goal
To be accepted for this accepted for me
This reflection of insecurities and unfortunate events
This play in my head
This opera of pain Still screams today
Where's the inspiration in all of this
Right here in my grasps
Less guarded now older still
I search for retribution to an unworthy cause
It takes me back to childhood dreams
Fountains of youth forever full
But yet still not calm
I freefall through my regrets
No solid landing ahead
I seem to be in mobile in a journey filled life
It's hard to comprehend all that I have done
To become this a shadow of what could be
Love is there love is ready but that anchor doesn't let my ship sail
I wish to be free of this worry
This realization that sometimes life can go on
If I just let myself doubt go
The wind knows the course
I just need to trust the direction.

Bench

Bench
———

I hiked a trail, fresh
unharmed by the steps of man
and found a bench, fresh
unharmed by weather or man.

Why here, for what purpose,
the bench sat in no direction
to understand the why, the purpose
trying to determine the story, the direction.

So I sat on the bench
making a point to view
in all directions the bench
offered, to understand my own view.

While sitting I began to relax
maybe that was the reason
to take some time and just relax
do I really need another reason?

Direction

Sun rises in East
Either you go North or South
Sun sets at the West.

SIGNS

As I travel on a path
Or drive upon the road,
Signs communicate to me
With their certain code.
They are there to stipulate
Wherever I may roam.
Directing me inside a zone...
Carrying me home.
On their walls, doors and gates...
Fences and their posts.
If safety was a said party,
Signs would play the hosts.
Dictating my pace of speed...
Displaying navigation.
Precautions there ensuring me
Towards my destination.
If it was not for the signs
Designed, then I would be
Without limits and likely lost
Within my life's journey.
