Premium Memberthe spell of a pregnant pause

time passes, hands clasped,
afraid of what might happen,
clench tight on what's been.

eyes stare unblinking,
lest the sheer weight of mere thought,
reveals happenstance.

ears distracted dwell
on mantra seance murmurs
when will never end?

Delay

No more delaying, act now stop stalling,
Time doesn’t call timeout; the clock never rest.
Think, process, move then act.
There’s no weapon I can’t overcome with you.

You’re putting me in position,
To make a move and now it’s my turn.
Step out in faith and hold onto the promise,
No matter the level of discomfort I feel or face.

You never stop working on my behalf.
I’m struggling to see the evidence,
Still I trust and know you’re in my corner.
There’s no weapon I can’t overcome with you.

You are navigating my route like GPS,
I haven’t fulfilled my potential yet.
I’m looking for it, seeking it out,
I won’t stop until it becomes my reality.

EMBER ENDING

Welcome to another phase
A new dawn, another era
It's festive season, love the reason
A new month, without deceased
Radiating liveliness not decay
December without denials or delay we pray.

The last month of the year 2024
But not the last month for us
The month of impeccable discernment
Birthing awareness for actions
Igniting our passion for glory
Leading us to flawless victory we pray.

Oh God of creations! direct our course
Making charity and peace our priority
Renew thy spirit within us
So we can love more than we hate
Giving more than we take
Unite us, so we can show compassion
For other's religion, cultures and traditions
Without discrimination but discernment we pray.

Premium Membera modern girls delay

(a disastrous morning Sonnet)

I am the very model of a girl who’s late for morning meal,
my charger failed, the printer jammed, the morning’s start has been surreal
I lost a scrunchy and a shoe, I had to use some dry shampoo
my Keurig had no k-cups too, so I’m feeling like a total shrew!

Our pre-dawn jog went really well, but now the morning's gone to hell
I couldn’t find clean underwear, I’m desperate to charge my cell,
I got some soap in my left eye, I stubbed my toe and nearly cried
While brushing teeth and hair in haste, I wonder why I even try.

Anna’s got an attitude; she’s not someone who’s normally rude
her hookup so ‘experimental’ has an irregular sleep-in schedule
how’s she going to get to class if she’s babysitting sleeping-lass
I guess I’m not the only one, who’s schedules simply come undone.

I woke her with a gentle voice and soothed her out—we had no choice
My morning happened to sideways go—but it fueled this grandiloquent tale of woe!

April 8 Delay

April 8—Delay (any kind)

There is always a two to three-month delay
Between economic news
And people’s perception of the economy.

Most people feel the economy sucks
When in objective fact
The economy is doing just great.

I hope that
Biden will finally get credit
For the economy
In time for the election.

If he does, he wins,
If Americans falsely believe
the economy is in a free-falling
recession, believing Trumpian lies,
Biden will lose.

As people’s perceptions
On the economy
Get caught up
To the reality of the economy.

Premium MemberStupor

Life has a meaning if you wake up from stupor

Procrastination will not help you achieve goal

days pass, years waste away, making you a loser

wake up before time takes a worst turn, death bells toll

When there was nothing there was God who created

A beautiful and pristine world for man to live

Be a vicegerent and protect the ill-treated

To be kind towards all to forget and forgive

Work to live, live to work is a motto well served

Stupor belongs to the Devil, fans his ego

Some rest after a day's hard work is well-deserved

Work without required sleep results in vertigo

So, wake up from ever deadly stupor my friend

Take up unfinished tasks to give meaning to life

It's never too late for an evil soul to mend

If not, words of evil and slander will be rife

Helpless Hopeful Hanker

I just want to bless
All that's around me with no stress
Even those within me, with love and ease
For peace and prosperity I have made decrees

A life is pretty stale, somewhat sad, so static
Striving seems to mock it, and 'bout it, ecstatic
He's at the drop of a hat set to borne goodness
Where's the power to do, in mere wishes and nothingness?

Lowly, I question that which is yet to be
When will it be that ought to be?
This hope and delay makes me daily weak 'n strong
When will it come his day of joyful song?

Oh, that my coast be enlarged
As the wide spread sky is discharged
Oh, that all around me be safe and blessed
May the good wishes manifest and in excess

Waiting

The time ticks by
As I stare at the clock
Knowing my near future.
Just sitting
Waiting.
No news, no change.
Storms rage,
Confusion, resignation, consternation .
The time seems slower somehow.
Like the whole world still turns but us.
Decisions. Coffee? No coffee?
Who can predict?
People bustle, not knowing, dazed.
Children scream with over tired,
Hot sticky evening air.
All becomes predictable,
We all make a new temporary home here.
As if we are refugees
Clubbed together in our island
Our land of no name
No country.
All set adrift.
Time still ticks by,
Ever slower.
Stretching each second
Elongating the interstitial pauses.
We can do no more.
We eat, drink, shop.
Nothing in those world
Is like an airport delay

Delay Not

Find out where your reasons lay
For every preferred delay
And keep in mind that men pay
For the legs they dragged all day
To “Be fast!” “Out of my way!”
Smokers stuck to their ash tray
While loved ones like donkeys bray.

As we delay lots at bay,
Precious time we boldly slay,
Little answer when we pray,
Wasted April leaves for May
And later Month May goes gray!

Yet, delay anger that grows,
Rabid rage that in vein flows;
Do men delay time for flights?
No, they don’t: they could for fights!

A Friend Halts Discovered Faults

From people you've been rather far,
Your Entrance Door scarcely ajar:
Guests appear and up dries your jar!
You don't wish to guess what these bar...

Your next caller could be a star:
I should have said A Super Star!
And roads you block against your car
While the journey has not gone far...

Also, you treat with odd delay
Things on which one's trust sometimes lay
I mean your workers you would pay,
When long gone their hopes with their ray,
Completely spent another day...

These are the things a good friend halts
His companion's discovered faults.

Premium MemberI Do Need Your Blessings

While I'm waiting
You always come with delay
While I'm overwhelmed with work
You always pass by hastefully
While I'm suffering
You always linger around
While I'm enjoying
You always slip away quietly
I can't do anything to stop you
And so, time, I do need your blessings
Just like without any blessings from the Almighty
Man's life will become a mess

Premium MemberIn Death's Delay

(For Linda Woods, Sept. 26, 1952 - Feb. 27, 2023)

she wastes away with Alzheimer's . . .
I wait to know when to travel home

Written Feb. 27 for Tania Kitchin's A New Crystalline - Any Theme Poetry Contest

Written right before my sister Linda passed away.
We all knew the time was very near, and I'll be flying out to my home state in a few days. There will be a "Celebration of Life" Saturday. Sadly, no viewing of the body. I had wanted so much to say my last goodbye to her even though I know her spirit has gone now to a place of peace.

Dont Join the Delay Train

You all should know my aim:
To hit the lasting fame.
I wasn’t made a lame,
Not, at present, Old Dame,
And great prizes could claim…

Men who to Peaks lay claim
Forget not strength would wane:
The once fleshy turns “Cane”
Exciting bubbles ‘Pain’,
Much labour “Little Gain”
The Sane “A bit insane”:
Soon, Towing Van with Crane…

Not washed away by Rain
Here, there or in Bahrain.
The whole shame, the whole Stain…

Don’t join The Delay Train.

Premium MemberDo Not Delay Your Hug

Morning aloneness.
Dawn imparts prized magic.
Next, the star blinks and vanishes.
The Moon and Sun share the same sky.
Autumn trees reveal their souls.
was interred under a leafy canopy.
Hazy memories of the past persist.
Striking was impossible, yet I bore it.
within a person’s heart.

The mind reflects a rocky promontory.
where spaces collided within the body,
Pulling their last breath, they expired
They acquire permission to fly.
The body, mind, and soul are all bound.
a while ago I grasped this.
The world has got its last odds of fading.

Pedestals are left above the hazes.
A cold bite encounters snow and frost.
Yet, I am jumping out of this plane.
for I, who soared to towering heights
Will I deliver you back to Earth?
Kisses melt snow and frost.
Lever your heart for love and empathy.

Why Delay

Since He is always listening
With tender love and care
Since ceaseless grace He’s offering
In pain, He’s always there

Since He is always powerful
To save, and heal, and free
Since He gives hope so wonderful
And plants His peace in me

Why delay ’til strength is gone
To pray for help and might?
Why delay ’til all is wrong
To pray for joy and light?

Why not seek and trust my King?
I fail when I’m alone
Why do I delay to bring
My plea before His throne?
