*For Tom Woody contest
Curiouser and curiouser thinks Alice.
Why must I always follow that rabbit?
Last time it didn’t work out well,
I must try to break the habit.
This time they’re on a spaceship
And she’s suddenly floating around.
Ever since they blasted off,
Her feet haven’t touched the ground.
But at least her height remains constant.
No more shrinking then growing.
But where Lewis Caroll is taking her,
There is no way of knowing.
The man in charge is Captain Kirk,
Who seems to be quite potty.
With a top hat with a label on
And a dog he refers to as ‘Scottie’.
They land on a distant planet,
You won’t have heard about,
Discovered by one Charles Dodgson,
With a silly name no doubt.
She steps out from the spaceship,
Wondering what she’ll find.
“That’s one small step for a girl,” she says,
“One giant leap for girlkind.”
She’s met by peculiar characters,
With even sillier names,
Who threaten to chop her head off,
If she doesn’t join in their games.
Then suddenly Alice wakes up.
It’s all been a dream if you please.
And she vows that tomorrow’s supper
Will not be bread and cheese.

"Curiouser and curiouser!", Alice proclaimed
" eye two, am adore "
Seven ol' kin
on the strong arms
of Seven strong more
Mercurius wings by to sing
" ... Welcome to the game, Ein ..."
Albert said to tangle
so direct in his angle
pressure from the Sun
became my angel
so diamonds
in the dust
became a trust
I reflected...
Homer said two hymns
and so within 33
I selected
two pair
Athena said to Hera
"... the heart of a Lion is there..."
Asclepius ...
when the Moon is high
bring the twins to align the sky
... so eleven walked in
The cure is a miracle
an oracle
as a mirror,
four the mind...
" ... I am and we are Kind;..."
An Astronut, perhaps, but
a funny one too ;)

"Liaison"
All seeing,
one eye watching
isn’t blind
I close mine
then open them,
shut the mind
there’s a certain bad romance
in the all seeing
just being, drags you in
then you get tangled
up in the full clandestine tryst,
liaison with some nebulous King
covert,
the dossier opened
and read,
"la grande histoire d'amour
avec la recommencer étant,
je suis, celui"
an irregular puzzle,
the curious and
the curiouser;
a mystery;
the flirtatious mind
shut out, boggles
(LadyLabyrinth / 2023)
“It is by going down into the abyss
that we recover the treasures of life.
Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.
Whoever fights monsters
should see to it, that in the process,
he does not become a monster.
And if you gaze long enough into an abyss,
the abyss will gaze back into you.”

I sneeze, and everyone follows suit.
Curiouser and curiouser.
I laugh and half of them laugh.
Two of them pointedly laugh louder after the rest of us quit laughing.
There are always two in every class.
I try to move and step on two of them.
How they magically got under my feet and out of their chairs I cannot say.
Teaching preschoolers is like herding cats.
They are hilarious, and it is a lot of fun, but they are magical.
One second here, the next gone.
I admire anyone who can do this on a regular basis.
If I did this every day I would be taking a nap with them.
Which might not go over well.

She blithely dreams of flitting butterflies,
essence of lemon-drop poetry and
lighter-than-vapor argent cotton candy castles
upon empurpled cloud embellishes,
meanwhilst wistfully hot air balloons
designed of lilting paisley embroidery
inflated with the airy fragrance
of wildflowers' whimsied zestfulness
merrily drifts furthermost simultaneously
burbling curiouser moons & starry dusted
whirlwinds gaily prancing 'pon watercolor hues,
imagination's perceptibility musing
aloud mid sleepyhead synapses'
abstractly diffused spheres,
she softly ponders if this should
be Nirvana my only wish shall
evermore be to slumber endlessly

Indulge me, I am Calliope,
igniting naked souls at heart
whilst poesy descends captive skies
calling upon ecstatic harmonies
whence day gives way to nature's
bounteous prolific profundity
& ominous darkness of poetic
blood smears' inky quiescency
awaiting creative words to surrender
wherewithal within spirited release,
boldness sans a wink's hesitation
dripping 'tween entangled emotions
sopping sentiments like sponges,
where curiouser minds relentlessly
glean beyond conquered sensibilities

Banshee poetry stuck
in zoned out twilights,
pushing limit's buttons
'midst emotional roller
coaster high tides,
saw Jesus before his
proverbial crowning glory,
surmised lucid perceptions
hallucinating near death,
standing at the precipice
awaiting remedial refrains,
antagonistic muse took the
train of transverse allusions
plummeting 'neath benignly
brash metaphorical confusion,
precariously peering beyond
artless translations farthermost
utterly chaotic imagination,
shrill screams of nil 'tween
apparition's looking like fated
glass delusions, attempting
to escape the ballistic
banter of an altered curiouser
otherworldly dimension
Banshee is is a female spirit in Irish mythology who heralds death.

Wading Weighting Waiting Room
Wading in thoughts, weighting words,
fearfully here in this waiting room.
There's a compact slightly cracked
music player by itself on a shelf.
Someone largely in charge has
shaped tape over its switches.
So none of us can make it go,
and silence reigns, or rains in our brains.
But curiouser and worryouser,
there is a kinky pink plastic angel.
Winged bustlet, angling down, slight frown
ungracing his/her face from shelf space.
Worse yet, I see he/she's got a twin,
but blue, no grin, top of a storage bin.
And a magazine rack mauls the wall,
with a fall magazine mocking spring.
Who do these voodoo things,
that shiver-quiver my head strings?
Godot is ever a no-show, but me,
I'm fearfully here, slowfully waiting.

Close your eyes
To your surprise
Wake up never recognized..
Time beyond the looking glass
Nonchalantly travels past
Without a single question asked..
Judgmental eyes stare in vain
A victim of a curious brain
Begin at the beginning then start again..
Like falling down a rabbit hole
With no control
Inquisitiveness starts to take its toll..
Smiling felines and parties with tea
Shedding enough tears to fill a sea
Back to the door without a key..
Big and small and big again
Decks of cards march like men
Remorseful innocence not knowing where or when..
Painted red roses lined up in a bed
Screams from a sovereign "Off with her head"
Once ticking hands abruptly stop dead..
Have I gone crazy?
Am I insane?
“Curiouser and curiouser!”
Again and again........

How every move you make
sensitizes my sensibilities?
How every breath you take
heightens my abilities?
How every word you write
wakens my internalities?
How every smile you share
lengthens my eternality?
How ever tenderness you show
makes me grow and grow and grow
beyond my inborn need to know
if you really love me?

Tear away her skin, her bones,
Watch her curves move through...her tones
explore her body curiouser... and curiouser....
Sandwich her, squeeze her till her blood flows...
Let your sperms kill her, drown her in her woes.
Afterwards tell her how unattractive she is, how you hate her, loathe her, the mother of
your kids.
challenge her, walk away, leave her to lick her wounds.
Tell yourself its okay, this is what she chose!
Lie to her, abandon her and consume her soul,
Tell yourself its okay one day she will feel whole!
Trample her crush her... tell her how she is all wrong.
Tell yourself its okay she wont last for long.
Push her away till she falls over the edge...
But she will always come back.... for its your daughter she bred!

Alice, Alice, little mullice
Found her way down a hole
First glimps of adventure she Chased that White Rabbit
Gradgualy slipped out of what she'd known
She Chased that White Rabbit to her second minds shelter
Where her mind was abrupt and controlled
Curiouser and curiouser was she governed by a Dodo
in a monarchy she'd soon outgrow
Her thoughts were peculiar, as she was young and difiant
Confused and naive she carried on
Wanted to believe what she had known was real
and no real harm was ever done.
