My Mind Is a Train Station
Flickering lights cast shadows on the crowd,
Each chasing hopes that slip through their hands.
Trains whistle past in endless circles,
Rushing toward visions that never stay.
I stand beneath a single blinking light,
Waiting quietly as the crowd fades away.
No need to follow fading tracks,
No rush to catch a train that disappears.
The platform empties, footsteps soften,
Only my shadow remains,
...

Sacred Friendship
I was surprised
It was so nice
As strangers passed
I checked you twice
And there you were
My curly friend
A blessed human
As strangers wend
You turned and smiled
It was so sweet
My heart was warmed
Your hug complete
And as I sit
Reflect on this;
The lingering warmth
Of friendship bliss
Hits somewhere deep
From you to me
And back again
Though words so twee..
Could not explain
The depth of

Foolish Crowd
There are a lot of mysteries, anomalies and such,
things that seem to have no explanation why they are.
One of these (above the rest) that makes me wonder much -
is how the foolish crowd is made of people who are far
from being foolish on their own. Yes, people who are good.
Yet somehow when they’re in

In a world where crowds are lost in heavy noise
In a world where crowds are lost in heavy noise,
Where every face becomes a shadow in its own game,
I watch silently as laughter breaks the empty walls,
And the scent of alcohol mixes with smoke and rain.
There, twelve souls drown their identity in glasses,
Melting away in jokes without substance.
But beyond the faint laughter and forced smiles,
Each

classy
Today was the first day of class.
You should have seen all the people.
Everyone couldn’t have had class, some of them must
have been gawkers, the types that slow to watch
flat tire changings and car wrecks.
Some were carrying maps - freshmen.
Like student drivers they clogged the paths,
drawing a few looks.
They gaggle together like geese,
Jeeezus - shut UP

In the silent blizzard of my thoughts, I reflect upon the madness that unites the crowds
In the silent blizzard of my thoughts, I reflect upon the madness that unites the crowds,
Where the masses of individuals consider all who are not part of the collective madness to be insane,
Anyone who crosses beyond this thick wall of conformity,
It is natural for the masses to hate the man of truth: he is a

Concrete
The city above us reaches higher and higher
tipped at the top in all its glory with
iconic, prickly, spires,
as long as air rights permit it.
Build, tear down, rebuild, as the wheels below spin round
in sync with the people who dream,
and the unbridled greed.
Sidewalks, though, remain the same,
i.e., concrete
-people come here to compete,
and they prefer the ground
static,

Tears In the Crowds
Tears in the Crowds
A tyrant on a corrupt throne
A sheep about to become a genetic clone
A weary traveller far away from home
A heroin addict on methadone
Graveyards of peace and quiet lament
An ungrateful niece,
Dead bodies in cement
The Biblical Golden Fleece
Friedrick Nietzsche’s torment
We look to each other for strength through

Crowds
Being alone in a crowd
The silence so very loud
All these people around
Lost in the sound
Yet no one can I see
Cost so much to be free
Between you and I
Is the burning sky
So close, a world apart
There is the beating heart
One among the many hidden in stone
Broken ,feeling alone
One piece of many parts
How many new starts
the chances

Return of the Crowds
The downtown streets are crowded;
The ferry lines are long.
New York’s no longer shrouded
In despair, but looking strong.
I kinda miss the quiet
And can do without the hordes.
I guess I should deny it;
Swarms are Covid-free rewards.
But everyone’s not ready
To pick up where we left off.
For many, slow and steady,
Still get spooked by sneeze or cough.
So I ventured

Mannequins
The mannequins put on skin
pretending to be human
feigning familiarity
with lives they’ve never lived
performing a pantomime
of proficiency in poverty
the wisdom won from doing without
playing the part of people
they consider inconsequential
believe are below them
with whom it would be unsuitable
to be seen socializing
unworthy of a welcoming word
as they parade about
before the

Lonely
Lonely
When wandering alone away from crowds
I find it most soothing watching high clouds
Fascinating as they meander by
An outdoorsy movie held in the sky.
Only the lonely discern why we cry
We're sadly lonesome is the reason why
It’s well known that puffy eyed clouds cry too
They cry because desolated folk do.
Once upon a high cloud I was dreaming

A Roadside Scene
Economic curve
Sliding down
Mushroom-like umbrellas
Springing up
Somewhat blocking the street
Drawing crowds
To buy the cheapest
Goods and wares
Without license or tax
