Epithalamion for the Ark Lovers

There was once a dashing lad 
from the mid-coast of Maine

who courted a comely duchess
from the Westerly. Now, Maine is

two lands off from the Westerly 
which is a province under 

its own sovereign rule, on an Island 
named Rhode, but they rescued

what desperately needed to be loved 
in the other’s marrow, each 

of their own

Yodeling with Moonpies

Apples are awesome things available all around.
Balloons make us bubbly and bounce from here to there.
Cats are cute and cuddly and really hard to catch.
Doggies like to do things, like dance around with dads.

Eagles eat real early and use their eyes and ears.
Football is a friendly sport for finding foes and fun.
Giggles make a goofy

a cat came running, next meowing, laughter

a squirrel in the tree, ran down to see

America’s problems, mortal man can’t solve,
and elected officials seem to watch time evolve.
Things of importance to them, they negotiate, 
much of which the average person can’t relate.

“For the good of the American people” is a pet line,
they’re paid big bucks just to argue and whine.
They seldom agree so they’re swift

Infestation of Critters

Nearly thirty inches below normal of rain this year
It's caused an infestation of critters who lurk near
Droning on and on, annoyingly buzzing in my ear
Waiting for the chance to stick me with their spear

With needle sharp weapons, like the point of a pen
Round and round my head they fly, again and again
I need hands to

Two Frogs In a Teacup

In a teacup's embrace, a tale we shall unfold,
Of two colorful frogs, with stories to behold.
One painted blue, the other a purple hue,
Their minds intertwined, in a world askew.

The blue frog whispered, "We're tea thieves, you see!
Stealing each drop, a wild heist to set free!"

All Gods Critters Are Welcome

All God’s critters got a place in the woods of Saint John 
They dance and sing and get their jimble jamble back on.
We see it happening, and we laugh, for of them we are fond.
They are jiving and striving down south now, toward Unka’s pond.

Some are coming back. Here is raccoon, muskrat and beaver.

Oh where oh where,
Are the Tortoise and Hare?
They're not over here,
And they're not over there.

One of them was fast,
The other was slow.
You'd spy one another,
Wherever you'd go.

Walking in the woods,
Following their tracks.
Catching one with a snare.
Flipping others on their backs.

They used to hide,
Under Weeping Willows.
Now all you see,

The Time Between Seasons

The birds that had soared to the south
Catching salty raindrops in their mouth
Have flown back to where the flower grows
But I'll miss the snowflakes on my nose
As I watch them fly in rows and rows

Melt away the frost that glitters
On fir tree branches full of critters
The lake will change it's solid matter 
Thawing to water

broken shells in drive
squirrels scampering in yard
smart little critters

Critters In Darkest Autumns Nights-

Darkest is the night;
As the rabbits and hide neath the barrows;
Chattering in silence gibbering;
Disappearing till next day or spring;
Early autumn birds flee south;
Over the citizens houses;
Lol, dark of nights summer critters hide in fright;

Litter critters everywhere
kill our planet dont you care?
cars, plastic, paper and mush
tyres, metal and fancy stuff,
microplastics in our seas
water life cannot flee
drowns, drowns, drowns
