Critters
They call me Elly Mae 'round here,
For my critters are so many.
I love 'em each and every one,
And couldn't part with any.

You see, Tommy, he's the eldest,
Grumpy through and through.
Course, eighteen years as a cat,
Would make me grumpy, too.

Our dog, Grover, he comes next,
Protective you...

Crispy Critters
CRISPY CRITTERS

Their whiskers singed,
the dogs unhinged,
the horses flee,
and goats run free.

The deer stag leap,
from flames that keep,
and creatures scream,
as their flesh steam.

Their eyes do melt,
with sore and welt,
all lost their home,
and forced to roam.

They seek their owners,
by now, all loaners,
more lost...

Katie's Kitchen Critters
The kitchen cupboard clamps closed incorrectly.
Katie concluded it was a continual cause of consternation,
cause rats raised a ruckus by creeping into Katie’s cupboards
to crunch cookie crumbs!
    “Crap!.” cried Katie.
Wrath, waxing her weary and her...

Bubble Test Pedagogy and the Crispy Critters
The new pedagogy, such sweet success!
Brittle crispy teacup children abound.
Wan eyes fused to the screen, don’t look around.
Take me to my safe space, just too much stress.

Who will fix what’s broken? They don’t know how.
Fighting for their freedom? Don’t understand.
It's someone else’s job to repair...

Pesky Blood Sucking Critters
Pesky little blood sucking insects called mosquitoes...
When the sun is down, they swarm out looking for juicy human toes..

There is a real danger of catching illnesses from these pesky mosquitoes...
So, do whatever you can and keep them off your pinky toes...

In your room, I have...

Premium Member Infestation of Critters
Nearly thirty inches below normal of rain this year
It's caused an infestation of critters who lurk near
Droning on and on, annoyingly buzzing in my ear
Waiting for the chance to stick me with their spear

With needle sharp weapons, like the point of a pen
Round and round...

God's Little Critters

moss strewn rock beds and nil vegetation
in the distant the lone wolf begins to howl
no sun to call her own
just gotten entangled in a predators sneer

Critters,

Yucky, icky,

Creepy, crawly, nasty,

Scuzzy, slimy, oozy, therefore,

Many!

The Time Between Seasons
The birds that had soared to the south
Catching salty raindrops in their mouth
Have flown back to where the flower grows
But I'll miss the snowflakes on my nose
As I watch them fly in rows and rows

Melt away the frost that glitters
On fir tree branches full of...

A Tall Tall Tree
At the end of the forest
Stood a spruce tree so tall
From miles away it was seen by all

In the spring it’s bristles we’re green and bright
So shiny that some even glistened the nite

In the winter it’s tip was topped by snow
Dangling iceIcles made it appear,
from...

Premium Member Walking My Tiger Home
My protests were ignored!
He lept and then ran,
shooting out the door
at about a quarter to four.
Now, he is running free.
I know he feels good.
Frisky and full of glee
is how he likes to be.

I looked outside
when the clock said five.
There lay three critters
and none were alive.
These...

Two Frogs In a Teacup
In a teacup's embrace, a tale we shall unfold,
Of two colorful frogs, with stories to behold.
One painted blue, the other a purple hue,
Their minds intertwined, in a world askew.

The blue frog whispered, "We're tea thieves, you see!
Stealing each drop, a wild heist to set free!"
His...
