Her koi fish appear as cowhide
red and white instead of black and white
They swim around lily pads that have shaken off their frogs
I marvel at their swimming prowess
And the pink blossom of the lily pad

An Angered Father For His Whip

An angered father went for his whip
And son made for a man to him grip:
Ferdinand's sudden timely smart slip;
The cowhide would have slashed his hip!

Now as safe as a bird on a roof,
Father's relaxed grip on whip sound proof
Town send knew the rules and would not goof.
At home he'll change son's right foot to hoof.
"Fine! let him present success savor?
What shall meet him not in his favor".

Premium Member End of Rebirth

Allow the cool air to affect the night opossum.
Daylight, melted snow, and fragrant blossom.
There is no drastic wailing, fierce snow, or lively hail.
Allow water to settle and watch on the lake fowl tail.

I'd want to have a gossamer of leaf distinct botanical.
To carefully forego jackets, cowhide shoes, and sparkle.
Strolls must be swept with soap suds to remove soot.
Without judging, ingest pristine, muggy air on foot.

I've prayed to God for longing and happiness.
I accepted my presence and avoid being awareness
Birds have arrived despite spring migration beginning.
I'm sitting down under some trees and staring.

Start the year by seed sowing and feeding family.
Now is the time for waking and sympathy.

From the Sciences I Pulled Out

From the science I finally pulled out,
After my homework unleashed a shout:
An All-Times The Strangest Graph;
To our Physics Teacher, “Perfect Chaff…”

And it made the poor gentleman weep;
Awkwardly try something like a laugh,
His skin beginning to creep;
Tried though he to make it cowhide tough…

For a whole week, a graph was a secret
But later alerted the A solemn Staff
For being humorless evidence quite concrete
I had a target mi, by greater half.

Ride 'Um Cowboy

Cowboy rides horse cowboy boots in stirrups
Cowboy hat waving in hand, yeehaw it’s grand,
Cowgirl is on the range! Lasso by corral
Appaloosa horse hurrah! Glad he’s a cowhand.

Dreaming of equipage horse-drawn
Carriage with attendants at wedding,
Hoedown rootin’ good time with
Root beer float, now kiss bride in west heading.

Galloping palomino golden tan coat
Rapid pace fast on each stride,
Cream-colored mane and tail fly high
Fair beautiful daughter sure and firm in abide.

Stagecoach rolls on by, near town Apache Junction
Locomotive sporting cowcatcher grille,
Black Stallion feisty and alive; husband’s
Love abounding in firm steadiness still.

Texas longhorn cattle cowherd on the range
Equestrian horseback riders like cowhide,
Head ’um out, move ’um out, rawhide! Open land wander and graze
Riding habit outfit, western sunset love now wide.

Let’s take this outside
Your turn to be objectified
Necktied offside and brutified
Come step outside
Where you can no longer hide
Now you and me can collide

You’re worse than godzilla’s bride
Torpefied and vilified
Uglified, mean and evil-eyed
Always snide and undignified

Ringside, in your false pride
the eyes of Hitler recognized
Executing his genocide
Feeling justified nationwide

Lately I’ve been preoccupied
With thoughts of homicide
Accident by countryside
broadside you flip side
See you land in the fireside
For all the misery aside
you put me through - testified

Is your meanness really classified
I’m no longer taking it - qualified
I‘m no longer hiding it - quantified
No more excuses - are you satisfied?

Germicide and pesticide
Have you ever tried
To drink a ton of formaldehyde
To soften up your cowhide

Now we can go back inside
Your reign of terror on override
You’re toast and you’re fried
You’re been hogtied and humanified
Stupefied and rectified
Just as prophesized

Premium Member A Little Bit of Twist

A little bit of twist
A little bit of grin
A flip of the hair

I am proud of myself
Pictures on my bookshelf
He and I collide, kiss and a ride
His glove and baseball by the side
Hat up above truly love
I dare not give it a shove

On the stand with a cheer
A taunt and a sneer
Grin your way; ensnare was my plan
Flip my hair and pretend I’m a fan
Batter batter swing
Hammer and sting that skin

A little bit of twist
A little bit of grin
A flip of the hair

Wearing the right hat
Twist to the bat
Searching far and wide
Where’s the cowhide
Home, don’t walk ... R-U-N
One-on-one under the sun

Slide your hand down my arms
Surrender and drown in charm
Strawberry kisses champagne wine
Interlace your fingers with mine
Emotions beat while we run away
Feeling the excitement of the day

Daddy's Banjo

I hear music in the trees,
 filtering down from the sky.
 It sounds like Daddy's banjo
 serenading Angels on High.

 I smell Prince Albert tobacco
 as Daddy smokes his pipe....
 Rings of smoke twirl around.
as he adjusts the strings just right.

 Carving wood for his banjo,
 I watched it came alive.
I still wonder about the strings.
The head was from dried cowhide.

My memory was real for a time
but the past just can't stay.
 The future stands before me.
I will see him again one day.

Not for The Howdy Partner Contest

How many times, have you found,

yourself, walking down the street

Stetson on your head

and cowhide on your feet

Trying to rustle up

a verse, that seems the best

For The Shadow Hamilton

Poetry contest

Now, I started drinkin' whiskey

and scratching my blue jeans

But I can't think of anything

that's worth a hill of beans

It's got to be a good one

better than the rest

to win, Shadow Hamilton's

Poetry contest

I thought I'd start out writing

'bout a horse and dusty trails

Train robbing, riding hard

And 'bout that time in jail

But I have to tell ya'll

This cowboy's kinda stressed

Over Shadow, Hamilton's

Poetry contest.......................Heee yaaaa !

Premium Member A Dying Wish

If I had a dying wish
Before I take my final breath
It would be to enjoy one last day of summer
And with my sons have a game of catch

The sun beating down upon us
Sweating on a sultry summer day
Standing on a patch of freshly cut grass
In the field where we used to play

The smell of cowhide leather
Unique to a baseball mitt
And the sound of the fast pitch popping
In the pocket when it hit

Just tossing the ball back and forth
Between a father and his sons
With trivial conversations
About life on all our tongues

With the girls waiting on a picnic blanket
Under the shade of a tall oak tree
And to once again see my smiling wife
Happily watching our boys and me

Yes, if I had a dying wish
Before I take my final breath
It would be to enjoy one last day of summer
And with my sons have a game of catch

Unknown

when it pours it rains
bullshyt that maintain
somethings
are hard to shake and wake to a new day of the samething
break
is what is needed
pleading with the lord to help me breathe
a lil more with ease
but then another crisis
another tragedy that breeds other things to come to be
walk touch and speak
existance of the resistance
of any other prosperity
hard to breathe
knock knock
moment of realness
alive
want is the emotion
need is the drive
just to survive thru rip tides and lashings from cowhide
head high
one stride just like one life and one time
to **** up or get it right
just one time to materalize in front of my eyes the one thing that prove to the inside of the vaule of my life within the prize
and as my life soaks in its ray like shine
thats the moment that will arise to the rightful place of mine......

Super Bowl Sunday

Statistical Sunday that starts fights
Along with bringing many delights
One simple cowhide ball
So called centralized thrall
Bringing outward competitive rights

Connie, Denise, and Cochise

Amid 240 units of toil
Reigns my Connie
Where she walks
Is blessed soil

California sun
To match her hair,
No nature's beauty
Could compare

Sitting at a table,
With her friend Denise,
Mulling over a
Possible lease...
To an Indian
named Cochise...

Will he pay in wampum
Or scalps he'd taken,
Or Indian souvenirs,
Or maybe he's fakin'

Maybe he's
really from Jersey
Or maybe he's not...
Will he want
To keep buffalo
In the parking lot?

Will arrows fly
When he gets mad?
Will he smoke
odd stuff
When he is sad?

Erect a teepee
In his living room?
Keep six squaws
To dispell his gloom?

Ride his horse
bareback to work...?
Feathered head
that he can shake?

Or suit and tie,
Briefcase at his side,??
Laptop computer
Covered in cowhide??

It's a mystery,
As you can see...
Time will soon tell
What will be.

I'll let you know
how it turns out,
And even though
You likely doubt,
This story that
I'm telling you...
Yet, it's possible,
that it just might
be true.
