Summer and Spring

Sublime summer is arriving,
The darling daisies are gossiping
Laying on the sill of the silly window,
The sun is complimenting them excessively,
The blush is lustrous and lurking.
Summer is shimmering on its way,
Spring is packing her suitcase,
Ready to leave,
She doesn't get along with her sister,
Summer's soar sight
Can make Spring blind.
Spring loves her eyes
So she's absolutely ready for goodbyes,
I should not hold her,
I'd write a goodbye letter
Hoping that she'd feel better,
Sisterhood is a vital matter,
Spring and summer can never unite
Even though they are two sisters so polite—
Spring is too floral,
Summer is too bright.
And when they get together
All they do is fight.
And that's not at all right.
So goodbye spring,
Come back next year,
Go your merry way,
Let go of summer's fear.
I'll be waiting from you to hear,
Goodbye now,
Summer is almost near.

God, you’re devilish

Hate is more potent than Love
as is darkness more awesome than light,
Silence’s more deafening than sound
Vice is more enticing than virtue
as is knowledge more enlightening than faith,
Passion overrides piety
Malevolence outbeats benevolence
as is brute more awe-inspiring than beauty.

Death is absolute
          as is life fleeting,
The fear of hell
          outweighs the bliss of heaven.

As are nights and days,
Life and death rotate in sync
complimenting each other,
One cannot exist without the other,
As is with good and evil
love coevals with hate —
you cannot choose one without other,
the outcome is correspondingly synonymous.

The devil is god’s alter ego,
The devil almost always
              outscores god,
God fares better as the devil…
Damning and bedeviling mankind
for his own devilish delight!

Where's that Crooner

Where's the Crooner with his smooth,
 intimate style
singing sentimental songs in a soft
smooth tone
quieter sounds and wider ranges
complimenting the sounds
which two are unique and customized
fitted
orastratas fused with a band
tandem collaborative grooves
crisp trembling edges
and a strong stern bassy mellowed
rumbling causing us to move
to the groove
People closer together are more
prone to form a relationship
then those further away
lean on your lover
hold on tight
it's real it's right
something way more
special.
Exploiting the proximity of
being together
fully comfortable
soothed to a relaxing coolness

Premium MemberONE FLOWER IN THE SAND

On a walk along the beach…after we’d been walking for a while
we came upon a flower growing in the sand…and immediately we smiled.

And this one flower got me thinking:
We are living in a world where increasingly we see
some people do not act without first asking themselves…What’s in it for me?

While at the same time…in the same world we see
other people, like this flower, making others smile
never thinking to ask…What’s in it for me?

Look around, despite the news, there is in humanity a definite trend
to help a stranger, help a neighbor, help an animal…help a friend.

You’ll see people encouraging someone they never met before…
complimenting, congratulating, lending a hand…holding a door.

Writing a note, giving a gift…letting another person know…
it’s them they’re thinking of.
helping someone in need…sewing seeds of love.

When we bring someone joy…we fee it in our core….
how we’ve helped to make the world a little more beautiful
than it was a moment before.

And we begin to think in beautiful…because we understand…
all it takes to make the world more beautiful…
is one flower in the sand.

Premium MemberIn An Instant

In an instant…
One can feel the love from a Glenn Hughes song
The rhythm quickly soothing one’s soul

In an instant…
One can love his bass sounds
Complimenting one’s heart beats

In an instant…
One can sway and dance
‘Getting tighter all the time’

In an instant…
One can know the Voice of Rock
Is here for us always

In an instant…
One can love and forever cherish
The one and only Glenn Hughes

OF BEAUTIFUL PLACES

In the heart of the golden noon, with skies in blue hues and a gentle golden sun, illuminating the greenery beneath

Tall shadows cast the fertile earth from the majestic trees that stand proud in the distance
Winds gently caressing the leaves as they wave in a rythmic trance

Zebras, dressed in black and white stripes, yet a colourful picture they paint
Grazing in unison, from the haven of their natural habitat, a delicacy that nature giveth

Blending in Seamlessly is the "Eve" of the garden
Completing the frame of the scenic scene that is a marvel to marvel at

Sunkissed, radiating an aura of elegance
The nature in the background complimenting the wonder of nature before it

In the bosom of mother earth, in the land of flames
Stories are aflame, of beautiful places and angels.

Premium MemberReverse Psychology

There was a fool who thought that he could use
reverse psychology on his girlfriend.
He started complimenting all her shoes.
In truth, he hoped her shoe-shopping would end.
She bought more! Then he said about her face
he liked her lashes false and lips bright red.
Her makeup habits he could not erase.
Cosmetics brighter she just bought instead.
He told her that he did not mind if she
conversed more with his best friend when really
it made him very jealous just to see
her with another guy. He felt silly
to hear, “I think you care not what I do.
It’s boring. For your friend I’m leaving you.”

Premium MemberShirleys Taste Tester Blast

Shirley hired a taste tester at long last.
The rest of us thought it odd that his name is Blast.
We went to meet him; startled now, for he is a mouse.
Why would you want one living inside your house?

He is the best taste tester I have ever had.
I was frankly thrilled to see him, totally glad.
He likes the taste of everything, even pipes, you see.
Complimenting my cooking, much more than Lee.

We asked Lee her husband what he thought of this.
His answer was a weird kind of shut-up hiss.
Parked in front of the TV in his usual spot.
Where I suppose this old guy will eventually rot.

Honor thy Father and thy Mother - When Did We Forget

I saw a commercial on TV about some guy teaching younger people how not to be their parents. I started thinking, maybe this is what’s wrong with America. We no longer act like our parents did. This trainer was trying to stop a shopper from doing things like complimenting the butcher and seeking the manager to report ‘Brian in produce’, for his excellent customer service. In each situation, the ‘trainer’ told him that it was inappropriate behavior. This commercial was telling us that it’s perfectly ok to be rude, inconsiderate, and wasteful. To yell at the butcher for not doing something, that is probably against the rules, but don’t dare compliment someone on doing a good job. If only there was a rule somewhere to tell us the proper way to act. Something like, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Or how about, “Honor thy Father and thy Mother.” Wouldn’t that be great?

                                         When did we forget
how to be nice to others—
                                      I guess when God died

Premium MemberGod had a Plan

Shirley had never attempted an entire quilt by herself before.
But her mother was dying, and she wanted to show her she could.
Her mother was thrilled with the flower garden quilt.
She had been suggesting Shirley attempt one on her own for years.
They had team quilted for the past forty-two years.
But it was imperative that Shirley try one on her own.
Her mother could not stop complimenting her.
Realizing that her quilting prowess might now live on.
Knowing her remaining hours could now be spent admiring the quilt.
She had never been this proud of her daughter, and she told her.
It was the first time either one of them had said "I love you".
Thankfully, it was something they both needed to say.
So God had a plan.
As usual.

Premium MemberPerpetual Poetry

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” Rumi

Life can be an incomplete glossary,
speech a haunting ghost,
in search of a perspicuous poem -
to express unspoken thoughts.

I remember when she said,

"Cue me poetry"

So, I became her perpetual poet,
engraving sweet soulful words
upon her bitter spiritless lips.

Fate had turned her into the Queen of Darkness,
but my heart glows in the dark.
Together we illuminated like a trillion twinkling stars,
outshining the enigmatic effervescent moon.

Her essence infused a refreshing presence,
like morning sunshine after a night of rain.
Slowly she became a pilgrim of my poetry,
and I, a sojourner lost within her soul.

As I wandered through her secret chapters,
my word weaving revealed her book of scars,
each drop of ink resembling her tepid tears.
Each vexatious verse purified through
a catalyst of catharsis, healed her wounds.

We are like quill and scribe,
vowels complimenting consonants,
completing an impeccable vocabulary -
without her there is no muse.

Premium MemberBy a Gently Flowing Creek -

By a gently flowing creek –
   I saw a swallowtail flutter
About my head, as though meek –
And land softer than a feather.

He was large enough, I swear –
To sit in all of my hand.
He did not mind that I was there
   Or that I was entranced.

Soon, a second butterfly
Distracted him by swooping down –
His mate, I surmised.
   How fiercely they swirled around!

Then breaking up, they moored
To sup water from the red rock
Like two tasters of one accord
   Complimenting the good stock.

They bathed in the glorious sun –
Posing candidly in a beam –
As if to show their dalliance
Off for the wide world to see

Then came a convenient wind;
The two undocked at bay –
And taking quick advantage –
   They sailed playfully away.

I Sincerely Apologize It Has Taken Me So Long To Reply

I sincerely apologize on my own behalf

It has taken me so long

To have eventually woken up

And to respond and reply

To you as you did to me

As I was so taken up in my own ego and self

With you complimenting and embellishing me

With undue undeserving praise

I never was able or took my time to realize

Whilst you were complementing me

Backing up my own delusional thoughts

Thinking believing and buying into

Just how smart I thought I was

What I failed to sadly and unfortunately

Realize was just how smart you in fact

Actually you we're rather than me

And now I have finally seen the light

I sincerely apologize

I let my ego run away and get so out of hand

And also now more than ever sincerely appreciate

You are still willing to accept my apology

So in some small inconsequential way

I feel my debt and your faith in me

Was and has been repaid

Premium MemberEdina Has Designs On All Men

Edina, the erratic, eccentric giraffe woman had parties galore.
Decorating her living room with finds from Kenya and more.
Her travels had brought amazing things into her upside down life.
She had kicked out six husbands, glad to now not be a wife.

I talked my husband into accompanying me to her party Tuesday.
She was blasting seventies music, her cook had just now run away.
My husband put on an apron and began to improvise the cooking.
I was askance to see where Edina’s hot eyes were now looking.

Where did you get him? She asked me. He is quite the catch!
I threw him a baseball, and told him to go outside and play fetch.
He is good with animals too! She said, complimenting me on my man.
I got him away from there quickly, as only an experienced wife can.

Premium MemberGonna Get Real Buff

Puff! Puff! Puff! Gonna get real buff
Working out like a fool every day
Wait till the girlies get a load of this bod
My gorgeous physique on display

Puff! Puff! Puff! Gonna get real buff
Girlies will want to slurp from my bowl
Trying to get in on some of the action
“Hang on now, show some control!”

Puff! Puff! Puff! Gonna get real buff
They'll all get a piece sooner or later
Surely can understand their excitement
I'll soon be one pumped up operator

Puff! Puff! Puff! Gonna get real buff
Alway knew I had animal magnetism
But I've taken that to a whole new level
Complimenting charm with witticism

Puff! Puff! Puff! Gonna get real buff
Working with the weights, a real jock
Soon be on the cover of “Muscle Power”
Great physique and abs like a rock!
