As long as I still have ...

Breath to breathe
Songs to sing
Words to write
Thots to think

 ... and poems to unveil,

I shall attempt in simple nomenclator
to commensurate this tale.

Simply put. Life is hell in a nutshell.

Unbridled Urban Development's Unholy Eyesaw

Oh what a pity
that in David's great city
they built a skyscraping tower.
the which to describe
my poor words lack all power.

Those who dwell in its heights
enjoy rapturous sights
of the noble city below,
where those in the pit
who look up at it
are denied a commensurate show.

Now who had the cheek,
if you let me thus speak,
to call this 'the Holy Land'?
If its name had been 'Babel'
I'd be better able
to explain the way things stand.

Who Am I

The past is not deprived of its events
resting in the bosom of bygone valley,
carved in rigid love craftily decent
like the gulp graciously landing at sea port of belly.

While the future eludes not the belle
with whom it has had memoir in hallucination
of seducing hands, tender in caressing its belly
for commensurate rewards in anticipation.

Meanwhile, I’m like a hand of time
progressively sitting in the middle
of the counted and uncounted mines.
Maverick confronted with seasoned dribble.

When will I stop my heels from accelerating in cycle?
The weary marathon is recycled
such that it leaves considerable intervals yet to be circled,
even though I always thread forward in retrogressive circle.

No counting is of the old
till I grow old in the cold.
Shrouded in a coat as I repeatedly quote
‘Who Am I?’

 Never Neglect 2022 Financial Goals
Miracle Man’s Opinion
12/29/2021

It was that time of year, while thinking resolutions,
we surveyed our problems seeking possible solutions.
We thought anything’s possible, if together, we had a plan,
We made goals not wishes covering a long term span.

On one bathroom mirror I once listed these goals,
both were reminded daily as each played our roles.
We checked net worth yearly, leaving no areas gray,
still thinking early retirement at an opportune day.

But early retirement would require more than saving,
so as novices we started investing money made slaving.
We understood that risk was commensurate with reward,
so we invested weekly in those things once explored.

Soon we were investing in things having more risk,
checking progress monthly storing on a floppy disk.
Often things went against us and didn’t make money,
but we stayed with our goals until they turned sunny.

The stock market is like baseball, some days produce doubt,
“You win some, lose some, and some are rained out.”
God has blessed us greatly and we’ve learned a few tricks,
enabling both to retire early, me at age fifty six.

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
Written: by Miracle Man

Many people will avow,
to being risk adverse.
In discussing this point,
they often become terse.

if we can’t stick our neck out,
without undue fear.
We’ll be like the tortoise,
and not get anywhere.

Sometimes a decision,
causes life to seem bleak.
But risk is always commensurate,
with the reward we seek.

Shari Todd Harris Dunning Part1

No acknowledgement could be
commensurate nar e'er
equivalent to countless years (scores of orbitz
of unexplored wonder) – left...
(with millstones around neck)

to atrophy on severe truncated
limb mitts, now cause
for silent lachrymose as this
brother doth brook a wake

his pained self actualization
(particularly predicated on
decade number six
unavoidably approaching) uptake

analogous to 2001 A Space Odyssey,
when closing scene
of the film - image of embryonic
"Starchild" left a slake

king unshakable reverberation
Also Sprach Zarathustra
echoing in me noggin since
opening soundtrack did quake

of a much younger self, when seeing
the movie did overtake
puzzlement until I read the book
"aha" awareness did make

that minor mystery resolved, and
now childhood's end keepsake
recalled as the time thy vulnerable
psychological state did intake

pelting asteroid storm cratering a boy
who shied away, to forsake
growing up, and now haunted (akin
to ghost of Marley) not "FAKE"

shackled to an un freed spirit, that
got squelched as if a sudden brake
got jammed propelling this then puny
body electric...now doth ache.

Febrile Fantasies

Forgo friendships built on sand dunes
Scattered in the desert of expediency
Driven by greed and ceaseless searches for fortunes
Flying in air balloons of inefficiency.

Forgo fantasies caught up in streams of nonsense
Cajoled in monsoons of short-termism
Driven by myopia and a seasoning of offence
Regurgitated with aplomb to neutralize feminism.

Forgo dreams of grandeur granted a status
Commensurate with duplicity and paucity
Of ideas and ideals in a sea of hiatus
Longing to break free of opacity.

Forgo attachments fastened to fragility
Expressed in tones sugar-coated
To energize and incentivize febrility
In friendships deemed overrated.

Smitten By You

Trudging on a lonely road
In somewhat desolated and dreary mode
Stumbled upon someone ineffably enchanting
And felt the desire to espouse her, augmenting.
Ah! Her dulcet voice and ravishing charm
That pierced my heart without harm.

I told myself “Yes, I have different goals, peremptory
But to estrange this girl is incendiary”
Having a yak with her was indelible
I asked “When could be our next date? Probable?
She could’ve balked, as her schedule was awry
But she replied “Thursday, dine or a movie?”

The first haphazard kiss was something ethereal.
Oh! Nidhi, my sweetheart, do u belong to Arcadia, for real?
For the moments I spend with you render a catharsis, inexplicable
Frankly, I doubt if I could requite you with something that capable.
I don’t care about the insecurities or the tempests my love would suffer
I’ll always be with you, Love you forever.

Never could I find love commensurate to yours, for me
And I know of nothing as beautiful as your smile for me.
I’m acutely smitten by you
Mind if I bought a Persian kitten for you?

What's Next

What's Next

Yes, what’s next!?
After an incident.. maybe an accident
Our foresight be on guard for the least
Unless, we want more exciting or forget
What happens next believed awaits.

Sometimes, we think the world at stop
As revolving always for us to tap
Everything at still must collaborate to sip
For goodness sake no one on strap or trap
The more we reckon, the more we shop.

What’s next really we do surmise
That we pray hope without compromise
For God, we know so fair His justice
    Never subsides
Coming so swiftly to commence
Man mortally sinners depend on Him
    be enhanced.

Dreams are bound to be elusive
So much we do we accept for our good times
     selfish sake
Settling for others who may wish aspire
However, what’s next could be at ones
    expense
For we should expect the seed planted is what
    commensurate!

Free Cee James Dean Would Want Me To Be Angry

JAMES DEAN WOULD WANT ME TO BE ANGRY

My cruelty is commensurate to my discomfort
My displeasure is pertinent to my pain
My brutality is because I’ve been bruised in the brain
And my delirium is due to my diligent disdain

When I am uncomfortable an uncontrollable urge urges me to give way to a vehement voice
And thus relegate reprobates to a wretched recompense without a choice

When I am not pleased or am teased by torment’s tongue I betray pleasure beyond measure
And present everyone present with unpleasant platitudes
As I malign moods with misery
And a blistery cold shoulder
yet rest assured,
My gruffness grows worse as I grow older

This Is What Karma Feels Like

Creeping inside me, upon me, like dawn,
the realization I'd become a pawn.
The latest casualty to your psycho games,
when all's said and done, there's just me left to blame.
Where we not equal, a commensurate?
partners in crime, a clone, duplicate?
The masters of muppets we pulled at the strings,
we'd tempt them with treasures and favourite things.
They think we don't know they want you as the prize,
their rose tinted glasses cannot see through the lies.
Your floozies, your groupies, your hussies, harem,
all star in your cheap, egotistical dream.
I kept off your radar with no sudden moves,
there's nothing to feel now but betrayed and bruised.
How dare you invole me, defy me, trespass,
and slash me apart with my own heart of glass,
That you proudly display as a trophy award,
to hang along side the pursuit I ignored.

Treasure Threshold- Dedicated To Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port Harcourt

Excellence of spirit begets
Excellence of mind.
Innate in some it resides
Others strive to imbibe.

Climbing a mountain requires
Skills commensurate with the task.
Energy sapped, discomfort induced
Food eaten, transforms to vapour.

Friends abandoned below
For the joy of mentors above.
Looking not below still
Focus placed above ever.

To the uninformed observers
Such unpardonable self-hate.
Yet the ascension unabated
Leads to a glorious beginning.

Exhilaration marks the arrival,
The arrival goads inspiration,
Inspiration steers to fulfillment,
Welcome to the centre of excellence!

Pain and Joy

Pain is not commensurate,
There is just no way to measure it.
One may feel it ,know it, seemingly drown in it.
It can be annoying or in the way.
It may be physical and laced with fears,
May last a time and a day...
in the heart and soul or between the ears.
There is just no way to measure it.
To the lonely, pain may even be a friend,
A treasure beyond measure,
To be lovingly offered for good in the end.

Joy. Joy is not commensurate,
There is just no way to measure it.
...Or ..is there .. ?

Inspired by the following "Definition of JOY" according to my Pastor friend.
"Joy is not the absence of pain,.. it is the presence of God."
