Cleopatra
Each morning before the songbirds,
she sings until her throat bleeds crimson.
A melody to meet the cries of women before her,
their memories spilling like rivers down her cheeks.
Her siren eyes painted with kohl, had burned with hunger
for territory. She claimed kingdoms like a man.
She bent empires beneath her will.
She fought as men do.
But history, cruel and callous, dared not
let her name linger. Not even the Nile whispers her elegy.
"Join me, Mark Antony," she bellows each night
But the roots wrap around her lifeless body
tightening their grip, pulling her deeper into the earth.
Cleopatra,
I investigate your eyes
through Nile mist that weaves,
jade butterflies that never fly
sable tresses hanging over leopards
bole skin on the border of Venusian dreamcatchers
Gilded diadems dance as burned suns
radiate from golden flakes of your crown
lightning demarcating the border between genius
— and ambition
wars are fought easier than your heart is won;
Cupid grieves your connections
Great men fear being made lesser by You
She of the God-like Mind
made Immortal for her Wise Counsel
I’m no prisoner of Fear nor Envy
nor Love
only Fate & Chance
Passionate war’s trompe-l’œil
Egyptian heroine
Beautifully clean
Intellectually acumen
Envied by many women
Loved gem exquisite emerald green
Mark Anthony's lovely queen.
There once was a man named Galileo.
To him, scientific knowledge we owe.
He was the brainy inventor
who said, "the earth ain't the center."
I guess that was his basic ideo.
There was a lady named Cleopatra.
She was sad, so I said, "what's the matta?"
"Caesar was stabbed by a brute."
Then, Mark Antony said "You're cute!"
And Cleopatra said, "right back at 'ya."
You may remember Jiminy Cricket.
His puppet said, "I sure like to lick it".
He warned Pinocchio,
"Wherever you may go,
be very careful where you may stick it".
Jiminy Cricket's first lesson for you
is he coulda lived to a hundred two,
but the sign said "don't walk",
so he stood there to gawk.
Now, that's him on the bottom of your shoe.
Christopher Columbus thought the world, round.
The King of Spain, thought his mind, not sound.
The Queen said that what he states
convincingly penetrates.
Chris now has ships to sail the world, around.
This isn't your normal poem
Though draped in familiar words
And adorned with figures of speech—
Four stanzas, four lines each.
This is a story of bravery and brilliance
One that will change your perspective
On the might of a woman and love's alliance—
A charming figure, so addictive.
This is the story of Queen Cleopatra,
An Egyptian charismatic ruler.
Like the rain revitalized Egypt
On the basics of love, she was well-equipped.
Not only a beloved ruler she was,
But a charming beauty with a cause.
When she smiled, it was as if the sun itself had risen;
Her eyes, like twin stars, shone with majesty.
She won hearts right from the start
She conquered that of Antonio
And formed an alliance
A bridge between two seas.

Cleopatra ! Queen of Egypt : Historic black beauty.
Erudite, Great politician, most charming , alluring cutie.
Her exotic charisma with great magnetic attraction.
Whelmed Julius Caesar to tie up romantic relation.
Cleopatra
“How good it feels to stroke the finest linen
and to know that yarn spun from the drop spindle
came by way of planters, harvesters, and many others,
and is dyed thread woven on the loom into fabric
and then sewn into garments for me to wear.”
And I saw that the artist’s finest paint
was to take the brush and stroke
the depth of a goddess whom the people of Egypt
immortalized as the "Queen of the Nile,"
and wasn’t that what Cleopatra was all about?
the Egyptian queen's eye make-up had to be perfect
she instructed her face painter to make it extra green
and the blackest ebony you can imagine she instructed him
the harried creator had to add more lead and more copper
each time he thought it was right she shot him down
More green, more black, and she frowned at his efforts
No one was more difficult to please than Cleopatra
He did not realize she was planning her death day.
And wanted her corpse to look a certain gorgeous way
Cleopatra Queen...
Such A belle charming woman...
Dio come ti amo....!
Watch out for betrayers, the knowing handmaiden said.
Cleopatra took the apple, not realizing she would soon be dead.
The asp was hidden well, same color green as the apple’s stem.
The handmaiden was tossed into the tomb, her fate totally grim.
Cleopatra's take-away
At the top of our street
Is quite obviously a failing be enterprise
Which it sadly pains me to say
Because there never ever seems to
be anybody inside apart from the
actual owner himself
And it looks like he has ploughed everything
in life he has into it including his heart and soul
And it's certainly not down to his lack of
enthusiasm , dedication want or willing
to do anything in his power to make it work
Rather than see his dream in ruined in
tatters and taken away
Through no fault of his own but fall victim
to one of life's cruel circumstance and irony
Sometimes you do not get out what
you put in or get your just desert's
And the roller shutter's permanently come
down with a sign in the middle simply saying
Closed
Open no longer for business
Bank , Hope & Dream foreclosure
Wrong Time - Wrong Place

Isn't life hard to get through enough
feling sorry for one's own woes
As well as then having to see and feel
sorry for other poor souls as well

accentuating mouth
entice
Wrap me in a rug Cleopatra said.
Take me to Caesar or I’ll have your head.
Sneaked her past the army with lots of dread.
Just so she could share Julius Caesar’s bed.
And did she pay us any kind of token or bread?
I guess it’s okay as they eventually wed.
Ah, we ladies never have enough!
Foundations in all shades.
Forever~ in new forms.
Cleansers that promise us youth.
Softeners that hide wrinkles.
Lipsticks, a source of confusion.
Creamy, matte, or gloss?
For me, it is all delusion.
A rainbow of colors for my eyelids.
Is it really me I present?
Or a manufacturers's disguise.

Cleopatra VII Philopator (Koine Greek: ??e?p?t?a F???p?t??, Kleopátra Philopátor;[5] 69 – 10 or 12 August 30 BC)[note 2] was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt.
Cleopatra's husbands were (in chronological order)
1. Ptolemy XIII - he drowned in 47 BC
2. Ptolemy XIV - he was allegedly poisoned in c. 44 BC
3. Julius Caesar - he was assassinated in Rome in 44 BC
4. Mark Antony - he committed a suicide following a crucial defeat from Octavian in 31 BC
