Early Summer Haiku Edited
ripening cherries
hanging on trees in daylight~
bats feasting at night;
at morning sunshine
wastage and garbage on ground~
harvest hopes shattered.

The sun disappears much, much later, an hour later to be exact.
This translates into having more daylight and a longer afternoon,
To watch the strolling peacocks in the park, and to have more fun
Admiring the baby bulbs metamorphosing into flowers at night.
The lily flowers are most of the time ephemeral, lasting hours,
Rarely a few days before changing into leaves, which eventually
Will be dried up by the warm air or the rays of the sun. Beauty
Is temporary, so enjoy the spring season and the summer flowers.
I have vivid memories of the shedding cherry tree, which brought
The beauty of spring in front of my house in the dead-end street.
Oh! I miss the atypical moment, when the green lawn was not neat.
Sometimes, the entire top of the hill was littered with falling flowers.
It was strange to sniff the unusual scent of the weather-beaten petals.
Oh! I miss the hours sitting on top of the window like a distraught cat.

“Cherry Blossoms”.
Cherry Blossoms
Pink
With smiles, Of innocence.
flutter,
and flutter,
waltzing,
with the breeze,
as if ?
Dancing on a slack line,
without Mercy,
Trying desperately….
not to sneeze.
And fall….. too soon,
Falling, falling, zigzagging,
Into the arms of spring.
And as fate decrees,
at Last surrendering…..
To,
Newtons Third law.
All Quiet on the Western Front.

Somehow it’s now late April and the things we can’t control,
The mysteries of Spring, they’re gonna rock, they’re gonna roll.
The same goes for divorces and the bills we’ll have to pay,
But since we’re on the road, let’s take the cherry tree way.
We’ll need to make some changes; let the lawyers have their say.
We’ve come this far together; now it’s time we walked away.
Seems nothing lasts forever; not tomorrow, not today,
But if we’ve made our choice, let’s take the cherry tree way.
The overcast above us and the drizzle coming down
Can’t seem to dim the beauty of those blossoms all around.
They stun me with the glory of their annual display,
So baby, one last time, let’s take the cherry tree way.

maybe i'll play dead for a few hours
watch the trees from a safe distance

hang my imagination out to dry.

Yoshino cherry tree, blossoms glistening in the sun
Most vibrant display of white-pink blossoms, with faint almond fragrance
Delightful moment, overcome by a massive sneeze attack

Peering through plate glass at a puzzling view,
In the midst of my coffee’s morning ritual brew.
Staring with amazement—I’m wonderfully struck,
By Cherry Tree blossoms, overnight run amuck!
By nature’s own standard, cruel joke she now plays,
Million blossoms wide open, this February day.
Our sad juvenile sapling, knows not what it feels,
Sprouting vivid Pink colors, in a show it now steals.
From those all around laying dormant in state,
Waiting to blossom, their own petals awake.
And by then poor young cherry will have muted her splash,
Replaced by green leaves, summer storms will soon thrash.
But alas all this splendor making warm visual sense,
In the time it took java, to heat and dispense.
Tomorrow once more, I’ll observe through plate glass,
Wonders that await, beyond Winter’s Rye Grass.

Sidney sloth was so very very shy
He’d hide in the treetops way up high
Hanging upside down so no one could see
He’d painted his toes red like a ripe cherry
Sidney hid in the tree so silently
High in the branches where no one could see
But soon Sidney discovered a major snag
Ripe cherries were being picked and put in a bag
The cherry picker pulled at one of Sidney’s toes
Sidney was no longer in a state of sweet repose!
Wanting to maintain his privacy
Sidney climbed to the top of the tree
Soon autumn came and the leaves she did thieve
Forcing poor Sidney to hurriedly leave
Sidney sought sanctuary in a local zoo
Now he can’t be seen by me or you!

Cherry tree blossoms
The branches brushing my face
As I mourn his death
I mourn his passing
And I never said goodbye
Now I whisper it
I know he can’t hear
He is shut deep in the ground
So close, yet so far
He asked to be here
Under his weeping cherry
The place we first met
I feel like a dream
Time is passing without me
I am done living
Someday I’ll go back
But for now I mourn for him
With the cherry tree
Note-this is actually haiku

She held my hand, beneath a tree
Leaning forward, a kiss so sweet
The taste of her, like Cherry Coke
Sunlit beauty a gorgeous smile
Beneath a tree a kiss so sweet
I pulled her near, wanting her close
Pretty brown eyes, looked into mine
As time stood still, my heart quickened
Gentle breezes lifted her dress
A kiss so sweet, like Cherry Coke
Some memories, will never fade
Me just a boy, she was sixteen
A lovely part of yesterday
I lose myself there for a while
A gorgeous smile, she held my hand

cherry tree, first love,
Form: I do not know?
I feel the warmth of early morning sun.
The blackbird, singing in the cherry tree
Entrances all with matins just begun –
Ethereal plainchant, plangent melody.
The snow-white blossom hides a darkling bird
From eyes that would discern this source of joy.
Though nothing’s seen, his heartfelt song is heard,
His mate to charm; his rivals to annoy.
Charmer of worms, I see your yellow beak
Now opening to disgorge divine enchantment
To humans, who the charms of Nature seek,
In troubled times, for solace and contentment.
Your pastoral serenade surrounds me all day long;
The sun is sinking fast, and so, to evensong.
