CEASEFIRE*

peace
hearts mend
shadows fade
hope blooms softly
grace

Citizens, weapons practice,
Refugeees, seeking homes,
Think globally, guys,
Evolving ceasefires---grand.

The Christmas Armistice of 1914:
World War I on the Western Front had settled into stalemate. On Christmas Eve, soldiers from both sides spontaneously began singing carols - mainly "Silent Night" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful", in German, English, and Latin - which led to calls for a temporary truce. In many areas, the fighting stopped, and soldiers ventured out of their trenches.
This area between became a place of exchange of food, cigarettes, buttons, and even family photographs. Some accounts do mention soldiers kicking a ball around in "no man's land".
In the words of the 12th Doctor: "It never happened again, any war, anywhere. But for one day, one Christmas, a very long time ago, everyone just put down their weapons and started to sing".
why
fight when
we can say
no more fighting
Now
written by dad
white
flag shrieks
across skies
drenched with stale war
-"peace!"
Ceasefire
Glass
Shatters
Hopes and dreams
Ceasefire postponed
Rage

flames
erupt
blocking light
bathed in ashes
death
war
a storm
wipes out all
altruism blooms
peace
Place: 5th
cease
gunshots
need of hour
embrace in love
peace
peace
breaks out
hope it holds
if not, more death
there
child
listen
cooing doves
somnolent song

Easter ceasefire...
little boys playing
with their toy guns
The air filled with cries,
As people see, humanity dies.
Gaza bleeds and screams,
While the rest of the world dreams.
Seeing their condition; eyes filled with tears,
But they refused to give what's theirs.
For the only one they fear is God,
Giving them hope that His help is near.
Little children die of hunger,
Telling the world their faith is stronger.
Hungry children cry with tears in their eyes,
Watching as their loved one dies.
Always standing hand in hand,
They say,”We won't give our land”.
As history tries to erase their mark,
Sadness came with dark clouds,
“We will neither forgive nor forget”, the world shouts
Two lured hearts intertwine,
dream up life’s tapestry with lattice of desire
on cloud nine.
Two paths diverge,
master courage to defy her
spat surge.
At night
lovers ceasefire
fight.
Two lured hearts intertwine,
master courage to defy her
fight.
