Written on June 18th, 2025 for Nette Onclaud's LIGHT UP THE LANTERNE Poetry Contest, 3. CEASEFIRE.
Unfortunately not all ceasefires last and the world turns a blindeye to the destruction.
CEASEFIRE
flames
erupt
blocking light
bathed in ashes
death
