How strident are their screams, 'Ceasefire!'
~ adding fuel to the funeral pyre ...

Hands across a table Ceasefire agreed The dove of peace sings For a day,two maybe. Then a shot A child lay dead. A mother weeps The dove flies away. Hands across a table Ceasefire agreed.

Two lured hearts intertwine, dream up life’s tapestry with lattice of desire on cloud nine. Two paths diverge, master courage to defy her spat surge. At night lovers ceasefire fight. Two lured hearts intertwine, master courage to defy her fight.

Premium Member The Latest Protest Song

Old Joe Biden faced a protest
    E-I-E-I-O
And at that protest, he heard some chants
    E-I-E-I-O

  With an ‘Genocide’ here
    and a ‘Ceasefire’ there
Here a ‘Genocide,’ there a ‘Genocide’
    Everywhere a ‘Genocide’

Old Joe Biden faced a protest
    E-I-E-I-O

                                                  war

                                               a storm

                                            wipes out all

                                          altruism blooms

                                                peace

Premium Member Humanitarian Pause

Noshing time
for but a moment muzzled
to bring vaccinations
up to date

Far from a ceasefire
this is but a pause
without relief
for the pending prey
it is palpable

The paws that pace
the hackles that raise
the eyes that are laser fixed
that a purpose bred
purpose trained
war dog
lays in wait

Premium Member Night of Stone--Four Lines

For thirteen moons I holler in angst relentlessly
Under coal stars, these hands pray over August's ceasefire;

Till a young man's dull frame quakes on bloodied tracks...
O my son laying with ghosts of heroes, my night of stone.

College students let their voices be heard
As they call for freedom for Palestine
Putting bodies on the line, their anger stirred
With determination their hearts and minds entwine
But the war machine is in full swing
Of a ceasefire there is no sign
As more death and sorrow those bombs bring
But do the powers that be...
 really want freedom for Palestine?

Ceasefire

                                                   Glass
                                                 Shatters
                                          Hopes and dreams
                                         Ceasefire postponed
                                                    Rage

Ceasefire

its my turn,

its your turn

everyone

is on the run

 "am the don".....

"am next to none"

 the sun long gone...

the fun is hung

 houses - they burn

families - they mourn

curfews - dusk till dawn,

 gloomy on the "morn"

less ado 'bout the battles we've won

and the war cloths we've worn

 let bygones be bygones

we really don't have to buy guns

His Pain

Your pain is deep Invading your dreams No peace to keep Unrelenting screams When you close your eyes The pictures of the pain Become unrelenting lies As they all attack your brain Prayers for a ceasefire Never to come about Makes life feel dire Showing nothing but doubt Know I am not that far I'm here for only you Let me kiss your scars I'll show you what's true

Love Raid

Love raided the heart

And occupied my mind

There was no chance

But to surrender

For, the love army surrounded the gates

Hopes failed

Wishes shattered

Army encountered

Ceasefire was restored

I began to forget the hard days

The army again planned an offence

Where I had no chance of defence

From then on:

I am in a state of alert

Where I cannot avert

The sweet pain of love

Diplomacy

Often underrated,
Often understated,
Often underutilised.

Often misunderstood,
Often mishandled,
Often misinterpreted.

Yet diplomacy may be the only option,
To obtain a ceasefire.

Yet diplomacy may be the only option,
To obtain what you need to put out a fire.

Yet diplomacy may be the only option,
To obtain what you desire.

Yet diplomacy may be the only option,
To prevent the spread of all that is dire.
