Morning Thoughts Of A Caregiver

Lord, grant me peace within this day,
make each thought be undefiled.
Let your light only illuminate my way,
so when stress comes I won’t be riled.

Sometimes I forget that I’m not alone,
then I see your hand reaching out to me.
As today’s issues make themselves known,
I’ll instantaneously think of thee.

The Worst Caregiver in the World

I watched my sister fading away.
She did as she was told
Day after miserable day.
Do this, don't do that,
It's bad for you, good for you,
Mustn't get fat.
Could Nurse Ratched not see 
The harm that she caused?
The pain she inflicted
Gave me pause.

Sound advice for some fools,

Confessions to My Architect

My spirit is forlorn, frightened, 
 and impaired.
You’re not hiding here in this hideous hell;
no longer your eyes, are broken in a cataract cell,
