Premium Member Canine Conundrum

Every dog is a conundrum -
rub him on his back or on his tum-tum?

Premium Member Canine games

Boundless energy of furry fun
Playful banter over the sound of waves
Beachside folly of august sunshine

Premium Member Call Of The Wild

Yes, I’m the cute little pooch,
You treat like a substitute child,
Domesticated and to some extent,
By breeding, I’m pedigree styled,
But don’t ignore my ancestral line,
For I still listen to the call of the wild,
And in my heart I’m still a wolf
And this wolf can be easily riled.

Premium Member CANINE KING

CANINE KING
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He was a dachshund extraordinaire,
     a canine king with a luxurious coat most fair.
He ruled our neighborhood with nary a care,
     his tail wagging wildly, his ears flapping in the air.
His little legs moved swiftly,
     patrolling the streets quite deftly.
He sniffed and snuffled with a curious mind,
     chasing the squirrels with harmless malign.
He barked at strangers with a fearless din,
     growling and showing his teeth like a sharp mandolin.
He ruled the streets with an iron paw,
     protecting and serving with his loving, doxie law.
He licked the faces of those he knew,
     reigning gently while enjoying his doggie chews.
He was a master of mischief with his charming ways,
     nudging with his nose, his way of begging you to stay.
His barks were music to my ears, his wags a delight,
     dancing and prancing with a carefree spirit, light.
He was a dachshund extraordinaire,
     a neighborhood hero and loving arbiter.
Good Company
Man's best friend
in need of a feed
is a friend indeed
so
with a knick-knack here
and a paddywhack there
give your mutt a bone
pat your pet
cuddle your canine
canoodle with your poodle
or smooch your pooch
and he'll hound you
'til the cows come home
wagging his tail behind him
Premium Member Canine Evangelism
My pup ate some theology;
some fifty pages have been freed.
Now bound for glory, they have gone:
the word of dog, upon the lawn.
H/T to Caren Krutsinger's "pup eats paper like a goat"
Premium Member Canine Valentine
I’m a doggie full of love divine
Searching for a darling Valentine
I’d be yours truly
If you would love me
And accept this canine heart of mine.
A Canine Gift
Held once in hand
Canine gift so free
Offering up its innocence
Resting upon my knee
Thought did not occur
When career did take
My every waking hour
Unhappy did it make
Within its twisted fate
This opportunity did rise
Finding all my love
For this puppy prize
Now life is calmer
Memories we now create
A million timeline photographs
My little canine mate
Premium Member Canine Waterfall
Our kitchen counter could be a waterfall
Or so our dog seems to think
As he stares at it while we prepare food
Never ever daring to blink
I think he expects the counter’s edge
To flood the floor, and magically spout
Random food scraps, which are worth
Risk of life and limbs’, ending the drought
I sit still before the table,
mute, entirely unable
to employ the quill and ink.
I am so sad, I cannot think.
Master said "sit", and I complied.
Then, he clutched his chest and died.
DOG
DOG
	nose and paws twitching
	while running free in dreams…
	dogs greet dawn happy
Premium Member Canine Congregation
The dogs were lined up as everyone could see.
Are you sure this is the best spot to go have a pee?
I just need to take a p***
I'm not so sure about this!
Hey! Check out that other deciduous tree!
My Best Friend Canine Valentine
We love our Newfoundlander Mo to pieces
Slobbery greetings drench my wife, son and nieces
A hound sweet and chivalrous
A French kiss he’ll deliver us
As canine Cupid’s bow draws back and releases
Whitest
A full one tonight,
a quarter-size of this world,
her white is complete,
inviting me to stare.
No clouds there
to hide her.
Will she bring out
the wolf in me?
Such a canine might,
emerge and amaze, without warning:
dreaded, ferocious, fanged.
Or should I simply smile and gaze?
A Friend Indeed
A Friend Indeed.
If you decide to adopt a canine friend,
visit your local canine rescue, for it is a place I recommend.
Each bark is a sales pitch to help you along,
and greater than any jingle you will hear in a song.
Your presence will be heard, for they all want to leave,
but the one you choose will be thanking you, for its reprieve.
There will be barks and whimpers and looks of despair,
your choice to make will be difficult to bear.
Your decision must consider the lifestyle you lead,
and size will dictate the car you will need.
Enjoy this time with the new friend you make,
for a canine will stand by you, without no mistake!
 Please decide wisely!
