A feral predator
Imposing. The largest
Wild cat of them all
Untamed. Fierce. Stealthy
Ambush assassins on the prowl
Leaping onto prey
With lightning speed
Killing without mercy
Using its large canine teeth
To rip off a sizeable chunk
Of flesh, and to crush bones
This mammoth cat is no vegetarian
Using those razor-sharp retractable claws
To seize and hold an unfortunate prey
Ambush assassins on the prowl
Native to South Asia
This is also a maneater
This is the Bengal Tiger
A feral predator

The Kitten

The Kitten

In canine halls of wisdom, where dogs do reside,
A furry little menace, has decided to abide,
A kitten, small and sassy, with eyes so bright,
A ball of fluff and trouble, that's always in sight.

She pounces on my tail, with a playful little mew,
I'm like "Hey, what's the deal?" but she just looks at me "mew",
She's a tiny little dictator, with claws so sharp and fine,
I'm just a dog, trying to survive, this feline crime.

She steals my toys, and runs off with glee,
I'm like "Hey, those are mine!" but she just gives me a spree,
She's a little furry thief, with a heart so pure and light,
I'm just a dog, trying to keep up, with this kitten's flight.

We play and we romp, in a ridiculous display,
I'm a dog, and she's a kitten, in a silly little way,
She's a tiny little partner, in crime and in fun,
I'm just a dog, trying to keep up, with this kitten's game, everyone!

She's a little furry friend, who's always by my side,
Together we get into trouble, and make our humans hide,
We're a dynamic duo, of mischief and mayhem too,
A dog and a kitten, a perfect pair, in a funny little crew.

So here's to the kitten, a furry little friend,
A tiny package, of trouble that never ends,
May her purrs be loud, and her whiskers be bright,
A shining star, of mischief, in the dark of night.

With every snuggle, and every playtime too,
Our bond grows stronger, in a friendship true,
A dog and a kitten, a perfect pair,
A tale of friendship, that's beyond compare.

Deep at heart Tim is a dreamer and longs for 'that' dream

And still and in certain arrest he is a child of gone times

His parents Hans and Ida had told him in misleading terms

‘You can do anything you want. . .’

They meant he’s bright and energetic even perfect and

While they had been kind and full of encouragement

The died long before he would abandon that prison

‘We fought the war and you must be free’

A pragmatist full of rational shackles dead to the core

He ponders for meaning caught up in emotional files

Sits under a canopy of figs and waits for the Buddha

‘I see a forest but where is the tree’

‘They’ say that the path is destination its very own aim

The road arduous and tricky and full of obstacle’s way

Sisyphus’ boulder could encroach the slope of the cliff face

‘Let it go but the harvest needs tilling’

Contradictions keep contravening mindful anticipation

Opposites obscure the harmony of synthesized bliss

Subconscious shadows loom in archetypal struggles

‘The conquest fights the lonely survivor’

Tim forfeits his axes to grind and carves his own shell

Forges gun into ploughshares and picks up a flower

Confuses meditation with mediation and forces the mould

‘Leviathan did not levitate he fell on his sword’

Every now and then he can feel the wind of his change

It might carry him to a rainbow and the Source of it all

Yet while knowledge bodes well it is futile without action

‘His fugue eludes the flute of sweet fruit’

He cannot sit still for he is a doer constrained by performance

But the dog on his shoulders resembles a poodle in a circus

A puppet on strings of comical drama a Pavlovian canine

‘Grin and bear it but do not stay idle’

Unleashed by the fangs of Odysseus Tim travels his underworld

Face down belly up he reaches for breath in a bubble of light

Tears at smears and disguise of a mask larger than Venice

	‘All water reaches the ocean’

There are bridges and channels and at long last a pier onto

Which he drags his weatherworn body his mind and his soul

Someone left a message draped in simplicity on the pontoon

‘The sole purpose is living one step at a time’

As with people
Art comes in all shapes
and sizes – colors and
shades, are the lenses
of distortion, while the lights
of revelation; textures are
our sniffing out, the soul like a
canine, on the scent of its
substance...

The novice starts with subject
or theme; while those more hearty
trust in the unseen Force of art –
stepping from its precipitous
ledge with mortal abandonment

free-falling, taken only pen
and brush in tow; pads, paints and
primed canvasses – all instruments of
of man's omnipotence

The Muse hollers, Nay!
While I say, work with me
or die, plummeting toward
the unforgiving bottom....

Premium Member Letter To My Dogs

(Even If You Are A Cat Person This Applies To You)

Dear Dogs,
When I say to move it means go someplace else, not switch positions with each other so there are still two dogs in the way.
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food.
The other dishes are mine and contain my food.
Please note placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and my food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a race track.
Beating me to the bottom is not the object.
Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed.
I'm very sorry about this but do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort.
Look at videos of dogs sleeping. They can actually curl up into a ball.
It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out with tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing but doggie sarcasm.
My compact discs are not miniature frisbees.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom.
If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open.
I must exit through the same door I entered.
In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years;
canine attendance is not mandatory.
Lastly, the proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dogs butt.
I cannot stress this enough.
It would be such a simple change for you.
With Love,
            Mom

Premium Member CrITTERS RUN AMUCK-

a dog went walking, with his master
a cat came running, next meowing, laughter

a squirrel in the tree, ran down to see
chirping, chipping, barking at the cat and dog
all these little chitters what it be, what they do they see?
the canine and feline both thought it odd

that a hawk flew down picked up the squirrel
and the jump unto the tree
the dog sat down looked all around and barked
wondering what's wrong with them, what it be

so much drama in an instant coincidencely

Cat came running after dog meowing, laughing
Squirrel came down from the tree to see, what mischief he to could reel
Alas a hawk came down swooping round picks the squirrel up
The dog, yet still yapping screams of bark, bark, bark, bark
 LoL-laugh out loud

Premium Member Life Could Not Be Better

You came into our lives a spark.
A blur of chestnut red,
Igniting us with canine love,
And nestling by our bed.

Chasing swallows in the park
That teased you in their flight,
Relentlessly you chase them still.
In the fading springtime light.

Every time I make the tea,
Teaspoon clinking in the mug,
I feel your paw around my leg
captive of the setter hug.

I take you into work sometimes
But you’re not always compliant.
Nudging my elbow with your muzzle
Sniffing each and every client.

When, bleary eyed, I rise each day
A drum beat from the sofa
Peaks as I descend the stairs,
From our dishevelled, four legged, loafer.

With head bowed low, the “trophy trot”
Announced my kitchen blunder.
I’d left the butter on the bench
A prize you had to plunder !

On our summer twilight walks
You stand and raise your paw,
If dawdling rabbits dare to stray,
Gun dog rising to the fore..

Sometimes I have to leave you
Shut the door, put on the sneck.
I glimpse those brown eyes widen
Just like “Puss in Boots” from Shrek !

You have a penchant for my socks
They disappear most every day,
I’d love to wear a matching pair
But you have stashed them all away.

On lazy Sunday afternoons
Lying peacefully asleep,
The noise of next doors wheelie bin
Soon pulls you from the deep

Then with scamp and scatter
Scrambling to the patio door,
Take your position by the fence
Bark like you’ve never barked before !

I never would have walked the miles
Seen the seasons come and go,
On every walk, see natures wealth,
Red gold sunsets fading, glow…..

You are always at my side
I know life could not be better.
A bond so precious and secure,
I am blessed to own a setter.

Premium Member Halloween Night Show

The night of October thirty first will be here
A cloaked figure afloat on wind will appear
In the hooded head musk on face will adhere
A black cat will cross the deserted road near
Won’t see the man’s canine teeth like spear
And his stone cold eyes like hers will sneer
Dug in the face of Dracula, the Count cavalier
Will softly knock on a grey door he’ll see clear
Through the diaphanous moonshine veneer
A flitting figure will then appear to swiftly veer
Hold his stretched hands and say Hallo Dear
The Count will meet the vampire as his peer
They will dance like sprites with hearty cheer
Until the fancy costumes they will finally tear
At the end of Halloween night show premier

Premium Member Fabric Store Run By Werewolf

Why is that bolt of fabric bolted to the ground?
I did not realize the guy was a werewolf until he turned around.
I wanted to bolt, but I had to be politically correct, right?
His teeth were enormous; they gave me a Halloween fright.

"It’s got witches on it, they come alive," he growled toward me.
His two canine teeth were gleaming bound to rubber bands I could see.
I wanted to bolt now, but I stood my ground and asked innocently
“How do witches come alive from material, if you please?”

He said let me get a bit of dust out of the way my dear.
When the dust flies in the air as I dust, it will become clear.
He took a feathered duster from the pocket of his duster.
They floated into the air and spelled “Muster Cluster Buster.”

This told me nothing, but I wanted to bolt nevertheless.
Werewolves are storms I do not want to weather, no matter how pure.
I weathered away quietly, as you may have guessed.
That’s the last time I will go into that fabric store for sure.
