Canine Waterfall

Our kitchen counter could be a waterfall
Or so our dog seems to think
As he stares at it while we prepare food
Never ever daring to blink

I think he expects the counter’s edge
To flood the floor, and magically spout
Random food scraps, which are worth
Risk of life and limbs’, ending the drought

Dogs live by their stomachs. Overfeeding can be a problem. I like your attention to my favorite animal.

This is quie picturesque, David!! I love, love, the title. Qiute unique and invites the reader to wonder,,,what does that mean? Some of my cats, in the past, thought, the the water faucet was theirs to drink from))). Some jumped on the counter during food prep,, i had to get them off. Sincere I had 26 cats over 56 years I can say what a joy, they all were. I had two dogs in earlier years, Awesome! Pangiex

Thanks, Pangie. It's amazing how cats can jump, while dogs know that patience usually pays off. Unlimited stories in the world of pets and animals.
