a bouquet brings a window to life

The perfect pairing

today i bought
a small bouquet
six long stems
of tender buds
in vivid blue

as luck
would have it
the day before
i'd bought a tall
and slender vase
never thinking
the two were
destined for
each other

the bouquet
slid into the vase
like it was
meant to be
a rare elegance
i'd rarely seen

so here we are
in awe
admiring
six irises
in their
graceful
ballerina

A nomad wanders  
in labyrinthine wasteland 
of the denuded life, 
          desolate,
the sinuous dusty track 
takes me  
to the obscure terrain 
of forlorn nowhere.
My soul’s lattice,

Big Bouquet

On the upcoming Mothers’ Day,
a unique floral gift she’ll give, thought May.
In the garden she spends quite a while,
waters the plants so the flowers will smile.
The plants don’t grow tall as time passes by,
flowers don’t bloom big, she doesn’t know why.
So, she keeps on praying day and night,
