there was a vespa parked on road
billy the buffalo had never rode
it was huge hundred pounds
the vespa struggles under the sound
billy's bellow made it sickly plead
for peace against the massive beast
billy started the vespa fast
and horned loud and rode it past
houses looked at it with awe
uncle hari nicked his ear in awe
the dogs of street glared at it
people in their car stopped to see
it raced and raced till it reached the race
"STRONGEST SPORTS CAR WILL RACE"
billy entered the race with vespa
the poor thing almost collapsed hard
yet raced against fierce cars
till it reached the ending point bars
the buffalo got off and took the prize
the human in car watched in demise
the vespa took a final breath
and fell down on the pavement left
billy jumped into the lake
it had won the race for the vespa's sake
Pat Garrett sent Billy to heaven -
plugged 'im with slugs, numbering seven.
How he got to heaven, I don't know -
that lowdown, no-count so and so.
The Kid grew wings, said, "Glory hallelujah -
up here, bullets go straight through ya."
Jacob was my first true crush
But we were both too young
Daniel made me swoon and sigh
When he spoke a different tongue
Kevin never knew my name
For I’d loved him from afar
But only Billy loved me back
And stayed inside my heart.
In loving memory of

BITTERSWEET (A PARADELLE FOR AUTUMN)
Gone is the bird song that once filled the sky
Gone is the bird song that once filled the sky
Now the wind moans low like lovers in need
Now the wind moans low like lovers in need
In need like a lover, that once filled the sky
Gone is the bird now like a low moan of wind
We have gleaned from the earth its bountiful fruit
We have gleaned from the earth its bountiful fruit
The fields are empty, the harvest is in
The fields are empty, the harvest is in
In the harvest gleaned of its bountiful fruit
From the earth we have empty fields
The leaves are beautiful in their dying
The leaves are beautiful in their dying
This is the swan song of earth
This is the swan song of earth
In their swan song dying
the leaves of earth are beautiful
The sky we have gleaned, empty as bird song
fields the leaves beautifully, in the harvest
dying, bountiful fruit gone, once
of earth in need like a lover’s swan song
filled by the low moans of wind
I had a lovely white cat called Billy.
On Christmas nights she did things so silly,
chewed red ribbons, climbed fir tree,
plucked the stars on dancing spree.
In festive times I miss her really.
Billy the Kid
paid a price for what he did.
He was shot in the back by that skunk Pat Garrett,
a betrayal not entirely without merit.
Henry McCarty (1859 – 1881)
a.k.a, Kid Antrim – ca. 1876
a.k.a., William H. Bonney – ca. 1877
Of Irish ancestry
New York-born
orphaned at 15
from his family shorn
repeatedly asking '¿Quién es?'
around midnight 14th July 1881
entering Maxwell's bedroom
their mutual friend but Billy without a gun
in Fort Sumner where by Pat Garrett
(1850 - 1908)
take my word I kid you not
age 21 sadly Henry the outlaw
in the chest was badly shot
for reputedly killing nine men
but for the posted bounty of $500
it took the Sheriff 369 days to collect
the reward promised by Governor Wallace
(1827 – 1905)
I’m being shrilly
Because silly Billy
Dilly-dallied
With Tilly’s chili,
Then willy-nilly
Forgot the
corsage lily
For the dance,
Now no chance
For silly Billy
To twilly-twilly
Piccadilly with me!
Poem to Billy
(This is what I meant)
You went out into the meadow,
And blew your horn,
(or did you fall,
Down in the corn?)
Laughing you came back
To my arms,
And showed me
What you found!
I Must've Cared
For My Soul
Near As Careless
As My Teeth.

Billy the comedian was also known as the big yin,
looked so funny you had to smile and grin.
his jokes made you laugh so much,
you ended up nearly wetting your crutch.
There is an old goat named Billy
who finds the altitude chilly
and with insufficient grippage
to prevent downhill slippage
may fall off the mountain but will he?
I got to thinkin' about Billy the Kid
and the peculiar line of work he did.
If I were Billy's older brother or pa,
I would say, "instead of bein' a bad outlaw",
why not get yerself an education,
a 401K and three weeks' vacation.
God made Billy Joel
gave him clothes
to dress my soul
I wear those clothes
listening to music
My style my face
my picture of grace
From young to old
the picture is told
Decades were made
that did not fade
Music that I will
always remember
My soul music
my September
The words of music
always displayed
the feeling of life
'The Piano Man's life'
'She's always a Woman'
'Just the Way You Are'
Take me to 'Allentown'
and 'Zanzibar'
'To Scenes from A Italian
Restaurant'
'It's a Matter of Trust'
'A New York State of Mind'
We're always under "Pressure'
For 'The Longest Time'
'Only the Good Die Young'
for you that was a lie
You sailed 'The River of Dreams'
While singing a 'Lullabye'
This is the time to look in
'Rosalinda's Eye's'
Standing on a "Stiletto'
don't ask me why
So why should I worry
'You're my Home'
My 'Uptown girl'
it is shown
'She's got a Way'
'To Turn the Lights Back On'
When you Wish apon a Star'
'My Life' is half way home
'We Didn't Start the Fire'
We just kept it going on
with a song and a lyre
being our only strong
Believe in yourself
don’t dwell in the past
Until things become clear
Sail your ship
let the stars be your guide
Blue moon
Broken lantern
Bottle emptied
Black sea boots
Burn the bridges
Break the waves
- before they splash against the limestone
Behave yourself
Bubbly buddy
Be brave
Breathe
Blissful Billy
Blessing
A lighthouse’s light through the mist
the protector on the ocean,
wings and man
A fleeting remark ...
face the challenges as they come
- eclipse never comes alone
