French bulldog Betty
I patrol the borders of my property I take my job seriously as head of security
If you see me watching you and think I look like fun just cross my border then you better run
The postman tried it once he should have known better crying out as he ran I have to post a letter
Then there was a man I think his name was mike I chased him away so fast he left behind his bike
Then the police came that was such a laugh
He dropped his radio as I chased him up the path
The garden came one day not knowing I was about left behind his gardening tool as I chased him out
Now my humans have had to keep a log of the injuries caused by me Betty the French bulldog

Betty Boop could not live forever, for naught
But this new version was a bit scary I thought
Her face was green, she had stitches too
I am a ghoul, she informed me, a bit of a boo
Never having met a ghoul before,
I turned and ran outside, straight out the door
She chased me up a hill and back two times
She smelled like lemons, mold, dirt and grimes
I did not stop running until I woke up with a gasp
Relieved that my time with Betty Boop Ghoul was past.
Buxomly bright Betty and her beige burly bear
Bounced through their days with nary a care
Expecting no special treatment, but it was there
Because they both were enjoyable with a jaunty air.

I remember her dancing around the stage, a little bit naughty, dirty.
Her shapely young body was drawn to accentuate her butt and her boobs.
She was an eye-opener to the young people watching on their goo-tubes.
Her heavily made-up eyelashes accentuated her overly large black eyes.
Her dresses were drawn to show off her curvy, shapely young thighs.
As a child, I remember being intrigued by this saucy young flapper.
“Boo boop de boop”, her trademark was a happy knee-slapper.

Betty White lived so long,
they had all kinds of names for her.
She managed to stay America's sweetheart
for a century by being kind and funny.
A heart of gold worn on her sleeve,
she could make everyone smile.
Her sweet face is now on a stamp
while the tributes continue coming.
Her curls sweet and eyes a'glitter but
it's her smile that charmed us all.
On one little stamp they could never list
all of her many accomplishments.
Betty earned the Guinness World Record
for longest TV career by a female entertainer.
Her wit was in full view on shows like
Match Game and Hollywood Squares.
Besides appearances on The Carol Burnett Show,
she starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.
Her cleverness never got out of style,
she even hosted Saturday Night Live.
They were planning her 100th birthday
when Betty passed away a few days short.
She didn't have one last party in her
so Betty left us quietly in the night.
Betty, you're an icon and will never be forgotten.

Baseball Betty asked her new boyfriend to help teach the little girl baseball.
She had no idea that Stanford had never been to a game.
He did not know how it was played.
He had never held a bat.
Or possibly one ball.
For an hour and a half Betty taught Veronica how to play baseball.
While Stanford read a book on how to play the game.
When he looked up, the lesson was over.
Veronica was gone, and so was Betty.
She never returned.
Knowing their relationship did not have a chance now.
She was a hands-on-woman.
He was a book learner.
