(April 1, 1919 – July 25, 2011)
In this graveyard, in this marble lies
an artist adding light to the skies.

It was Betty and Veronica
who asked Archie to play the harmonica
turned out the sound was so bad
that they rushed to replace him with grandad
Voluptuous Betty Boop
threw men for a loop
always sassy and flirtatious
delightfully curvaceous
High praise for Talkartoon Betty Boop
Her Jazzy theme song Poop poopy doop!
Many have thought of her a sexpot
She’s innocence and sass, shy she’s not!

Betty White lived so long,
they had all kinds of names for her.
She managed to stay America's sweetheart
for a century by being kind and funny.
A heart of gold worn on her sleeve,
she could make everyone smile.
Her sweet face is now on a stamp
while the tributes continue coming.
Her curls sweet and eyes a'glitter but
it's her smile that charmed us all.
On one little stamp they could never list
all of her many accomplishments.
Betty earned the Guinness World Record
for longest TV career by a female entertainer.
Her wit was in full view on shows like
Match Game and Hollywood Squares.
Besides appearances on The Carol Burnett Show,
she starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.
Her cleverness never got out of style,
she even hosted Saturday Night Live.
They were planning her 100th birthday
when Betty passed away a few days short.
She didn't have one last party in her
so Betty left us quietly in the night.
Betty, you're an icon and will never be forgotten.

thinks she is witty
sarcasm her daily fare
a nonfriend maker
cannot help her barbs
alienates all she meets
my cousin betty
Betty was not very tall
Her shoes seem to be small
She walked with a limp
Mistaken for a gimp
Or an excess of alcohol
Baseball Betty asked her new boyfriend to help teach the little girl baseball.
She had no idea that Stanford had never been to a game.
He did not know how it was played.
He had never held a bat.
Or possibly one ball.
For an hour and a half Betty taught Veronica how to play baseball.
While Stanford read a book on how to play the game.
When he looked up, the lesson was over.
Veronica was gone, and so was Betty.
She never returned.
Knowing their relationship did not have a chance now.
She was a hands-on-woman.
He was a book learner.
Boneless Betty
Every day Boneless Betty wished she could help her baker family. But she could hardly move in bed!
If she stood up, her nerves, blood flow, lungs, organs,
would get blocked, squeezed, and she’d die in bed!
One day,
after being spoon-fed,
she and her family decided to
carefully stack on her their loaves of bread.
'Twas not long ago, I did retire -
Time for me to regroup.
And like a buzzing fly, I fell into
A bowl of Poetry Soup!
My IT job did not prepare me.
Artistically, I'm a dupe.
My reading list has only Dr. Suess.
Don't scoop me from Poetry Soup!
My greatest influence, I must say,
Is the brilliant Betty Boop.
I would surely like to swim with her
In some Poetry Soup!
If you're wondering, you'll soon find out
Just how low I will stoop
To find a rhyming word that I can use
Here on Poetry Soup!
Perhaps, writing poetry will help me,
My marbles to recoup.
If so, I'll save on therapy bills
On good 'ol Poetry Soup!
I don't just joke, Joe, I can write like Poe,
In one ghastly fell swoop!
Oh boy, did I really frighten you
On scary Poetry Soup?
If I want to learn about poetic forms,
Right here I get the scoop,
And I can get help and feedback too
Here on Poetry Soup!
I even found a collaborator,
I kept her in the loop,
We made a delicious recipe, called
Gumbo Poetry Soup!
Poems of others, also make it nice
To belong to this group,
And so, I'm a lifetime member of
Glorious Poetry Soup!
Bubble Bong Betty with high heeled shoes
Ate too much candy but never touched booze
Trotted around showing all of us her fancy stuff
Her voice was melodic, not a bit sharp or rough
She had a way that was soft but also pretty unique
Johnny said Bubble Betty is the kind of woman I seek
We all agreed she was a pretty special woman for sure.
She left the planet, however returning to her planet DeJour.
Bad breath Betty
Never had a steady
Or anything
Be it friend or foe.
Everyone avoided her don't cha know.
Then she went to the zoo
Met Evalynn
Who blew flowers through her nose.
Betty had to find out how that goes.
Evalynn said, "step near,
I'll tell you the secret
That no one must hear.
Lean closer now!"
And Betty did.
What she said would have shocked you,
But remember,
This is a zoo.
Animals talk,
And know what to do!
Betty was instructed this day,
To visit the zebra bay.
They ate bulbs,
Then pooped them away.
Betty scooted down,
And scooped the bulbs up,
Injected them all,
Without a hiccup!
A few days later,
Much to her surprise,
Flowers began to grow,
Out of her eyes!
Sweet smelling gardenias,
Fragrant roses,
Covered Betty's bad breath,
Better than all the rest!
She went out to town,
Started nosing around,
Soon made friends,
Became the class clown!
Now she is called Blooming Betty,
Even has a steady.
Has so many friends,
Her steady wasn't ready!
But Blooming Betty doesn't care,
Her blooming breath,
Goes everywhere!
betty lourdes said she had the choice
to choose
where the river goes
a divine rod of sorts
a word to say
amongst the falling leaves
water and wardle
going to see the river man
and how about those plans
about the right to wallow
along the stream
recapturing the summer
she lost in her pain
Beeswax bumble betty sits in luxury in her steed’s antler nest.
Knowing that her situation is remarkable, maybe the best.
Others parade around but they never come this far west.
She is in her element, loving her hideout, in the antler’s nest
