Best Take Chances Poems
Try not to be too shy to tell someone how you really feel,
be adventurous and always try new things even if it’s scary-
Take advantage of the beautiful moments, they can heal,
you may never know how someone can be so caring.
Take chances on love, be courageous and daring.
Compromise is important but don’t change who you are,
for small romantic gestures can go a very long way-
Don’t be afraid to enjoy special moments under the stars,
sometimes a touch means more than words can say.
Awake every morning as if it was a fresh new day.
Life is just a series of moments strung together,
there may be arguments, but forgiveness can bring grace-
Sometimes in the beginning you just know love’s forever,
you can tell just by the look upon your beloved’s face.
Make sure your sense of humor you never erase.
Your heart may not always care about being logical,
for the heart wants what it wants even if it’s unlikely-
Living a long life with someone can be quite magical,
there’s nothing like starting a loving family.

River’s Arising
By Michelle Waters
River’s arising. Danger’s on hand.
Gather up your kinfolk and get to high land.
The campgrounds are empty, RVs are all gone
Tourists packed up their bags and headed back home.
The storm clouds retreated for less than a day.
For on the horizon, they’re making headway.
Torrents of water and mud surge down from the ridges,
Wash out the gullys, and ravage the ditches.
The creeks are all swollen; their banks have been breached.
Winds tear through the trees, wild and unleashed.
Muck and debris cover roads and driveways.
Surplus of water sweeps cars off highways.
Weatherman's warnings- often unheeded
In times like these, good sense is needed.
Destruction continues, flood water advances.
The wise take refuge, the foolish take chances.
Those who live in the valleys will stay to repent.
Once the floodgates cut loose, there’ll be no defense.
River’s arising. Danger’s on hand.
Gather up your kinfolk and get to high land.
She rides along the waves
so happy and carefree
Daring to take chances
with an open endless sea
She has no heavy anchor
to always hold her down
She floats atop the waters
with her beacon shining round
Dry land lies before her
but still, she sails on
For she is a free spirit
and has only just begun
I just love the way she dances.
The way around the pole she twirls.
With such confidence she prances.
I just love the way she dances!
She is not afraid to take chances.
Around the May pole with other girls.
I just love the way she dances.
The way around the pole she twirls!

Missing You
The wind whispers and I focus my heart to hear.
Are you sending me your words?
Your thoughts?
I can think of nothing…but you.
My days are empty, and the clock moves slowly,
if not backward in reverse,
when I am not looking.
I hate time.
It has never been my friend,
It is not now.
The big man at the front will not tell me where you are.
He is cold and wears many colors on his vest.
It is okay.
The reality is enough.
You are safe, as “He” knows your venue, your place.
Angels are at your side, “His Love, His Grace”…
Prayed accordingly for you.
Daily!
The first when I wake, the last when I sleep.
Swift return my love.
Soldiers take chances, but be smart.
Be fast, accurate and on the mark.
I am waiting, we are here.
Come home…
We cheer!

Before time was created lived an hourglass draining of sand,
the sand sank and there came the desire for true destinies,
Before the approaching set of tomorrow’s held hand,
came a grasp of the powerful fate of subsequent necessities.
Shouldn’t we all see our dreams when we look into the mirror?
Does the mirror give us insight into our upcoming fortune?
Shouldn’t we take chances without luck to make life clearer?
Life depends on the forthcoming of harmony and attune.
We all should feel destinations when our eyes close at night,
And the certainty of our dreams will help us wake in the morning,
If only the world knew the difference between wrong and right,
Maybe the sadness of yesterdays wouldn’t arrive with no warning.
We are fated to live this life full of joyous love and gratitude,
Without these three things the earth would not be used for good,
Seek out kindness with a touch of grace and not suffering platitude,
For we cannot build a hot-flamed fire without any solid wood.
My soul holds beliefs that good deeds bring a better tomorrow,
I sure wish we could all hold hands connected by a loving suture,
Let’s leave the past where it is without any regret or sorrow,
And be filled with the inspiration of a brilliant future.

Each day is made up of special moments
We count our blessings for each day
In quiet times we spend meditating
On people we meet along life's pathway
Some come into our life and stay
Others will slowly drift away
In life we have no guarantees
No second chances, no time out
So say what you mean
Mean what you say
With no hidden agenda along the way
Forgive freely~~ love like never before
Take chances in life
Live for the moment
Those moments do not come again.
Take the matter of time,
Puzzles that fall,
Impressions that fade,
Life is full of the patterns we made.
Little breezes,
Some brisk.
And Butterfly wings,
So many uses for common day things!
Every pocket,
Tight and secure,
Meaningful glances,
If only life let you take chances.
Then the matter of life,
Of Living,
Of all it contains,
Question whether what's left always remains.
Will we stand by it?
Decisions in time,
Walking the line.
Exploring the need to quote the word 'fine'.
If I could find you,
Matters of space,
Gathers around.
Would we be able to stay on the ground?
Let us not smother
pieces that fit.
Judgement in full.
Let's just agree to be beautiful.
THE DESPERATES
The hungry and the poor,
Will always try to find a door,
That will offer them a little more,
Than what they had before.
They cross the border through
The Kruger Park,
When it’s dark,
A singularly desperate act!
Between them all they,
Have made a pact,
To secure a life,
Where they can survive,
Or die trying in a
Desperate strife,
To keep alive!
Sadly, they often become,
Human bait,
To fearsome cats,
Who are surely looking for that
Foreign smell of meat,
And will prowl until they
Find them, then
One by one, to eat!
The few that do not
Meet their fate,
Kneel down and pray,
For yet another day!
These predators
Prefer the night,
When they have the
Best eyesight,
But also take chances when
It is light,
And give these desperate
Humans an unexpected fright,
Who leave behind,
A trail of scent.
The Animals spot their
Prey under the shade of a tree,
That offers afternoon cool.
They already begin to drool!
The only sign that humans were
There, are knitting needles,
And a ball of wool!
Still more human bait is left,
Although many are now bereft,
They run and hide,
Down mud, they slide,
For hope that
On the other side,
They will find,
Peace of mind!
Some make it to the other side,
But sadly still have to hide
From humankind,
Who seek, these
Desperate people out,
For cheap labour, they
Know their route!
All has been in vain,
As once again,
They are forced to be poor,
And used and abused.
All they wanted was a
Simple life, never had
Any illusions of grandeur,
And so the door
They sought,
Has only brought,
More sorrow,
On the morrow!
Vunerable, my heart my own; not trusting; hard to trust any one-
Emotions running rampant,
Not willing to take chances
I sealed my life, my heart with protective defenses
And then came you
You saw me, wanted to know me, desired me and changed my life's view
So that I am dreaming of life's potentialities.
Blind, not looking
And out of the darkness through the disallusion of life's negatiivity,
love came through you and brought serenity
And though my heart was encased with barriers, deep and strong
I believe God sent you to adorn my life with intimacy of feelings and
desires never felt before till you came and embarked my heart's door.
The feelings of sadness you broke and with your coming,
I have feelings of new possibilties.
Timid, shy, alone-
Needing someone to call my own
Lost within myself-
Hurts and pains of the past yielding themselves in me so strong
Robbing me of life's true love, its full experience-
My life needing new direction: a purpose of fulfilling;
Then came you and I am alive and living.
Timing seemed off at first but nonetheless we met
Spent time together and then time progressed-
Causing a moment's separation;
However years and live have brought us back together
Through God's renewing--now full circle--a reconnection
And then came you, again, and to my surprise but with a welcomed spirit-
My heart is fully open to love's possibilities.
And then came you and I am totally fulfilled.
And then came you and I am inspired and yielding to love's will.
And then came you and my heart if leaping with joy and hope-
No longer enslaved by life's tightrope.
And then came you and I am free-
Many inhibitions carried away by the wind of destiny;
So I know and believe in the power of love's--your love--potency.
God's love for us. Your love for me. My love for you.
Taking us to present and future realms of highest ecstacy-
To know the essence of true love for infinity. Another chance for love.
Said Hank to his pard, "I reckon we took a wrong turn back yonder!
How we ended up in this here gawd awful place I'll ferever ponder."
"Ya shoulda listened to me when we come to that Y in the trail,
But, no, you insisted we go left an' here we are!" he went on to rail!
"We ain't got a lick uv water an' I don't see none in them hogbacks.
We ain't met a livin' soul 'cept some prairie dogs an' diamondbacks!"
"Ho! Is them Injuns I hear comin' over that ridge back thar a-hollerin'?
This is jes' another fine skillet uv feesh ya have managed to git us in!"
"Buck up ol' pard" said Tex to his pal. "I'm sure they is friendly types,
Wantin' to parley fer some coffee, sugar an' terbaccy fer thar pipes!"
"But I reckon we shouldn't take chances an' if'n yer willin' ol' pard,
Me an' my hoss is leapin' off'n this cliff tho' the landin' be mighty hard!"
They took the plunge diggin' deep furrows with their noses in the ground!

As our life’s go on, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, and no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all; live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

May I please say before we start
that I am PERFECT for this part?
It's in my SOUL.
You might as well go lock the door,
cuz right here's what you're looking for.
I AM this role!
But why take chances? Just in case,
I've put plans B and C in place.
(So I'm not not stiffed)
Lets just say I have money, dear.
Who couldn't use a twenny here?
*wink*.... catch my drift?
Need more to prove that I'm no slouch?
Just show me to the casting couch.
THAT talent's free...
.........
.............
No - thank YOU, Sir!! When's best to call?
I just KNEW once you'd seen it all...
Oh............... You'll call ME...?

To dampen essence is joy unknown.
As a couple, we have united our spirits to
manifest our souls fulfilling our
emotions as integral parts.
Lovers’ spirits amalgamated.
Your depth has fused.
This love affair will intensify.
We are users of lover’s lair and
abusers of the time we have.
We are brought sense not borrowed.
We take chances not risks.
If we fail, we knew we probably would.
Let us gamble on love and our existence.
This is just a love poem.
An odd that has its forewarning
that our life is meant to each other.
The omens are worthy.
Conjugal…connubial
