Best Sunsetting Poems

My Love, I Love

you are as beautiful as a sunset on a tropical beach,
your hair is the sea as it flows with the wind,
your eyes sparkle in the light of the sunsetting like pearls in the water,
your smile is the only thing i could ask for,
my love,
i love,
you

Premium Member I Knew

I woke before sunrise
Beauty all around me
An overwhelming silence
I sat and took it in
Food for my soul
The loon called out
From the stillness of the lake
I knew I was at heaven’s gate

Watcha Wanna Do Janie Doe

Hey there Janie,last name Doe...
tell me baby, where ya wanna go?
maybe for a ride feel the wind in your hair,
maybe the nearest park,or an old country fair?

May I suggest,we take the fastest jet
fly overseas,to the sights the old world set,
climb Peru, spend the night at Machu Pichu
talk all night under starlight and o-o-hhh...

Then let's fly to Maui, hold hands and kapowie
kick alittle surf alittle sand then you can WOW me,
jump into a dugout and paddle to Easter Island
sit with the Mo'ai and watch those sunsetting strands,
maybe even imagine what those statues see
share some philosophy,at the ocean of dreams...

Then let's jetset, walk the sands of the Middle East
camel caravan to Petra, enjoy an ancient feast,
walk the Giza Pyramids, pretend to be King and Queen
lounge along the Nile amongst shady papyrus reeds,
visit all those ancient symbols waiting to be decoded
we should do it now before time eventually erodes it,
maybe discover an altogether different meaning
maybe uncover ancient secrets and new learning...

Then let's walk,the jungles of Angor Wat-her
taste some of Arabia,Persia,India and Indonesian fare,
let's visit the Philipines, that's where my family is from
enjoy their island generosity, and do alittle some-some...

So heythere Janie Doe...
watcha wanna do...where ya wanna go,
as long as we're together,it's always our show...

A Loveable Liquid

The throat ran with little rivulets
Having travelled through dry sections
Head held high on mountains

Ahead was a rumbling stream
Showcasing a marvelous wisdom
Throats refreshed with the gift of a lifetime

Sitting by the lakeside in the cool evening
Imagine the beauty of the sunsetting
Its reflection on the mirrorlike water, breathtaking!

Listen to the mighty roar of powerful ocean waves
As it pounds against rocky shores
And up in the sky, dripping tears

What about the tumbling down of a waterfall?
Down over the rocks to establish a call
A curtain of white water on the wall

Sweet sensational taste of heaven
Providing fishes their haven
Loveable liquid, nature's guardian

Mermaids in tropical seas
Holding beautiful roses
Enjoying different lovely poses

Under its generous appearance
Flowers bloom in abundance
As green leaves joyfully dance

Give me some water
And I'll be smarter

A loveable liquid
A friend of all in its need
A best friend of all indeed!

Premium Member Light of the Way

Into the warmth
of a bleeding heart
A chain of daisies grow
Around the soul kiss heartbeats
The willows silver tears turn gold
daffodils dance warmly flowering
On petals of your loving touch gently
flutters with the butterflies dream
Leaves a warm footprint forever softly caring
bitten in the long grass I stroll alone with hope
Birds in many airs mix tunes so sweetly with grace

Picking a dandelion smiling thinking of the roar
Looking of into distant sunsetting faraway wonder
Golden the sky orange to gunbarrel grew clouds
Life is loving every minute gifted with purity
Because feelings of you don't disappear
Must be a dark shady path at night
Blind leading the blind trips
Into chaos check in

Swallowing Colors

Swallowing colors from a new day
replacing the moon
Affecting my soul as it orbits this
world I find you
Never have I seen such a beautiful
sunrise
Until I saw one ignite the passion
deep inside of your eyes

Turning the beats of my heart into a
sweet melody
As I listen to your voice then your
lips begin melting me
I can feel myself longing for the fire
that once consumed all of my love
It was like eating the sun so it
scorched the taste of your kiss from
my tongue

Quietly the day falls away with little
drops of rain
Separating horizon from the
sunsetting behind colors of gray
Now even beneath a black sky I can
still see your radiant face
Tracing a silhouette of your world
embodied with heavenly grace

Sunsetting After Storms

ruptured skies embrace
shooting stars as violet seeps
into seams of earth

as sunlight retreats
into milky ways across a
constellation night

Premium Member Destiny

a lonely melancholic caterpillar
wrapped up in its tiny little universe
with its teeny caterpillar dreams
single-mindedly oblivious
to its own destiny
unaware what journey lies ahead
clueless of its fate to soon take flight
on emancipated wings
of a monarch butterfly

From Sorrow To Joy

From Sorrow to Acceptance -By Frances Ayers

On sorrows'wings I journeyed to a land where I had never been.
Each loss was undiscovered country, landscapes I had never seen, mountains I had never climbed.

I had taken a journey past familiar landmarks I missed, and memories that were past.I had
buried the familiar stories and neglected the happiness, which lay buried deep beneath the
earth, only now and then pushing to the surface.

I drank from bitter springs and sat among the weeds, neglecting to seperate them from the
flowers.
Beheld only the sunsetting but forgot the beauty in each new day.

When I had shed enough tears,I remembered the laughter echoing in the valley and heard the
birds chirping a new song.

I saw the sun reflecting on the water.
and instead of weeds,I saw flowers. Where there were empty patches of dirt,I saw seedlings
and the possibility of new beginnings.

Premium Member Sensory Overload

The sound of your rose petal blush sunsetting on your face
Feels like my goosebumps dancing on the sky tops of my skin
The smell of your mountain rain hair crying sounds like a mid-day summer shower
The look of curiosity cuts in the middle of my gaze and feels like a conversation I can’t wait to have
Your presence is such a gift to my senses I become overstimulated in nerves
p.s. can we just pause this moment before the laws of dialogue are written…

If there were no poetry or words as art
Who would hear the music in my heart
Would my muse fight to find its way
Or in atrophy die and simply wash away
