Destiny

a lonely melancholic caterpillar
wrapped up in its tiny little universe
with its teeny caterpillar dreams

single-mindedly oblivious
to its own destiny
unaware what journey lies ahead

clueless of its fate to soon take flight
on emancipated wings
of a regal monarch butterfly

CayCay Godwin April 12, 2019 at 12:07 PM This is lovely and took me to thoughts about animals and nature being oblivious to tomorrow and death; centered only in now they live fully and sometimes morph into creatures of flight and/or beauty.
