Premium Member A Conversation With Sherlock Holmes

“Holmes, what is the secret of your glory,
What keeps us thrilled and rapt right to the end?”

“The hook of a swell detective story -
Quite elementary, my modern friend."

“Your methods by deduction, I must tell,
Earned you renown for the most brilliant mind.”

“Crime is common, logic rare, so I dwell
On hidden clues, the suspects leave behind.”

"Some tricky cases racked Scotland Yard's brains,
What would be your best sleuthing card to play?"

"The very truth lies in what still remains,
As slim improbabilities outweigh."

“With such demanding hardcore duty, you
must have pastime of some distinguished type.”

“No doubt, my curious fan, I have a few:
Observations, dear Watson and my pipe.”

“Where are you in the matters of the heart,
The rumor has it, women aren’t your 'thing'?”

“There was but one I held in high regard,
The one, who could plot well as well as sing.”

“With due respect to your uncanny wit,
What’s your advice to those, who murder still?”

“One’s life is not your own, hands off it,
No one is granted a license to kill!”

“Would you please share your most frustrating case?”

“Here, the cold one to my shame and disgrace :

Watson and I once camping at the site,
Turned out to be a very chilled event.
By shrewdly staring at the starry night,
I then deduced that someone stole our tent!

That scurrilous tent thief getting away,
Like Speckled Band still haunts me to this day.”

"Born most revered detective of all times,
Well, Sherlock, what’s the saga of your birth?”

“This basic question, though I solved tough crimes,
You’d ask Sir Conan Doyle for what that’s worth.”

Her Life As a Poem

She was big-boned.  Her spirit
a fine-spun sprouting of prairie brome
threaded through moss and engine block.
Her home was a pine and beatboard camp
for wayward cats.
She would discourse from her tangled porch
where poems grew in small pots
muddled with Ramen noodle and Maui Wowie.
Her life often vacationed to a studio apartment
on the east bank of her right eye.
She wrote on the back of her mouth
with cigarette smoke.
Her poems were the rain-filled footprints,
of Jack Kerouac.
She had pronouns before and after her name.
She wore a local fame, made legendary
by the gaps in her thoughts,
thoughts she shrewdly refused to fill in.

Premium Member Queen of her stage

There once was a canary full of rage.
Who shrewdly trapped a sly cat in her cage.
Without a feather ruffled
and Kittie's meows muffled,
she now ruled the roost, as queen of her stage!

Leading a Happy Life Via Reading

Reading alone gets wit and wisdom,
Wide reading increases knowledge,
We can learn a lot by that process,
That only paves the way for growth.

We must make a note of all the books
That World calls as a treasure to hold
And we must acquire them shrewdly
And widen our knowledge brilliantly

As one grows, reading gets narrowed
For innumerable reasons to quote
Main is poor eyesight that blocks
One's reading power immensely

One easiest way to grasp the essence
Is by reading the quotes of great men,
Their distilled wisdom when is learned,
Our wit reaches its pinnacle admirably

Quotes are made with greatest thought
To tell the longest story in few words,
The time taken to read them is less,
We can read at any time, anywhere!

Reading a large number of super quotes
Rinses brain in the ocean of philosophy,
We become great masters of thinking,
Our words contain the best ideas easily

When one grows aged, strain is more,
Especially the eyes lose their power,
Endurance is also seriously affected,
Under such a condition, quotes help

Brief quotes easily remove one's grief,
They stun the World by their simplicity,
By mastering them, we reign supreme,
Our mind is filled with enormous wit

So, reading big books is no doubt fine,
If we have the power and proper mindset,
But, reading quotes will bring huge rewards,
Just twenty of them will elevate our thoughts

Reading habit must be ever continued,
We must constantly develop our brain,
We must equip it for doing useful acts,
Reading is the basis for any great feat!

Destroy Worry and Deploy Joy

Spend your time with great joy
All available skill, you deploy
Reveal to the World your mind
Where solutions, let them find

Never worry, instead feel happy
Regard life as a lovely trophy
Follow contentment always
Take to the Lord your case

Move with the World wisely
Tell them your goal precisely
Waver not dear in your action
Let your act bring satisfaction

Supply to the World happiness
By sanctioning peace in surplus
Love all and guide all shrewdly
Tell them soothing words loudly

Trust humanity without vanity
Strive for development of unity
Degrade not anyone for error
An Angel in all you discover

Extend support by being a friend
Lead a perfect life till life's end
God will come and give solace
He will heal in inscrutable ways.

You Can Win If You Rightly Begin

For your thoughts, you are the boss
You can surely prevent your loss

Your happiness, you only hold
You can make your ideas gold

For your health, you are the master
All the good habits, you can muster

You can be sad, mad or even glad
It depends upon the preference had

You can converse, argue or shout
You can be clear or have doubt

You can love or hate or be indifferent
It depends upon your mind's current

You can laugh, smile, cry or weep
What you sow, you surely reap

You can joke or be serious
You can be true or specious

You can take a firm stand
To make your life grand

Or stoop before others meekly
And give up your goals weakly

You can be sociable and kind
Or arrogant with a bad mind

Everything good, you may own
Or lose everything to atone

If you are wise, take my advice
And your plans, you revise

If my advice seems to be wrong
To listen to it, never at all prolong

If my advice is sensible only
Kindly follow it daily duly

Always the choice is yours
You can get tears or cheers

Never do anything due to force
That is the best advice of course

Use the freedom given to you
And shrewdly make a self-rescue

All the best in your endeavor
Always use reasoning power!

Premium Member Conflict Resolution

Across the rows, across the aisles
I look at you, you look at me
Unspoken, yet I can’t deny
It’s there, but should not be
Oh what a silly man I am
To think that I could sing
An aubade to a time long past
And resurrect the spring
We want most what we can’t have
And we may never get
It’s been that way since Adam strayed
And took the bite of death
Audacious heart in me you live
And to me shrewdly say,
"You only come this way but once,
So catch and seize the day!”
My spirit groans, my conscience knows
Full well my heart does lie
But then that heart in rebel clothes
Commands my spirit: “Die!”
Now in our flesh dwells no good thing
The Bible does impart
And Wisdom also teaches us
The fool trusts in his heart
To be enticed is not to sin
For often we are tried
But what one does when trial comes
Reveals who reigns inside
Yet there is help to cure the plight
It does not come from man
No human strength can win the fight
Against the evil plan
The One Who is omnipotent
The One Who died in shame
I rest my case on what He did
And call His mighty name
In Christ and Christ alone I trust
To gain the victory
Against my unrelenting foe
The trifold enemy

Premium Member Shrewdly Played Charades

He said “I love you” in the night
when all he truly meant was that
he longed to kiss and hold her tight.

She said “forever lets begin”
when hearing words he spoke to her
and then she willingly gave in.

Their passions flowed, he curled her toes
for fifteen minutes then without
pretense he up and donned his clothes.

She said “don’t go, please stay with me
you promised me your love” but
rudely he ignored her shameless plea.

He said to her “you’re quite a score,
and I’ve enjoyed your charms” as he
was quickly walking to the door.

She said “I think that I’ve been had,
been duped and used again by one
who’s nothing but a cunning cad.”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These games with hearts are often played
by scoundrels just for thrill and sport
while leaving hopeful dreams dismayed.
And so to all the fair young maids
who long for lasting love, beware
of men who shrewdly play charades.
Premium Member School of Hard Knocks
When you live on the streets, you
attend the school of hard knocks.
And think you've hit bottom
until you feel the sharp rocks.
You wake to a throbbing pain
pounding away in your head.
And you're filled with dread, Oh God,
you kind of wish you were dead.
This can't be a hangover,
for you haven't been drinking.
But, your head is exploding,
and it hurts to be thinking.
You figure out where you are,
just as the doctor walks in.
And like a silly young fool,
you slap on a happy grin.
You survived a bad beating,
slipping death's grip, yet once more.
And quickly gaining your wits,
you shrewdly head out the door.
The lost children of the street
are more than eager to play.
But, for every lesson taught,
someone always has to pay.
The Broken Glass
Staring in the mirror, my reflection staring back
There’s a murderer here shrewdly covering her tracks
Inch by inch, step by step, sneaking through the forest quietly as kept
Slowly trying to make her way to the end
Knowing the darkness is going to catch her for her sin
She starts to feel weary like she weighs two hundred pounds
It’s something glowing in her pocket pulling her down
Her arm reached and reached and reached bringing out a mysterious broken glass
Deja Vu is what this felt to her as if she had seen this once before
She looked deeply in the splintered mirror and was amazed at its shiny galore
The world started to turn going back in time
To set her where she committed the crime
So tangled as to what has happened on this day
Now, asking God to show her the way
She finds herself wondering into a dark gloom
She sees a light under a door leading to a room; opens the door and what does she find…
It is her in a mirror locked up and confined.
Staring in the mirror, her reflection staring back
She’s captive now and there’s no turning back.
Cock Fight
Proudly those cocks prance
Circling the other in dance
Crassly they peck then strut
Sharp in beck and detract
Tilting their heads in study
Shrewdly they're each ready
Smooth and certain they deflect
No moment of regret to reflect
They hide greater feelings of pain
And show no anguish, only disdain
Colorful feathers bloody the street
But nothing would stop this pageant
Everlasting Madness
Everlasting Madness
by Jeromy Zimmer
This stagnant engagement of illustrious perspective. Boldly frowned and disheartened by a willowing yet futile erosion of commonality.
 Numerous acts of traction with a belligerent sense of achievement.
 Justified conditions shielding unknown gaps of logic with fragmented pieces of a human soul.
 Breathtaking views of a silhouette in time.
Harmonic bells that ring with every passing rest, a clad of bells that cling to the chest.
 Shutting eyelids with reformed sense of strength, a weakness to believe in this constantly refreshing experience containing lack of truth.
Holding back your willingness to participate, an external membrane contains this elemental superiority.
 Your chosen path, is fracturing the walls of excellence, and its entropic disposition leaves you breathless.
 Unable to follow again, you set yourself free. Free for the first time, with the help of the everlasting madness within.
 The walls of doubt are left to decompose with the soil beneath it, as rich nutrients fill them with the irony of the foundation that it once shrewdly recognized itself as.
My niche has been molded into the fabrics of my shirt and the fabrics of my time, and the threads of this beloved, but tragic synchronicity around us all becomes my temple.
Premium Member When Deniers Stoke the Fires
When we start off
one rarely realizes
all the true scientific
downstream consequences
of our original acts
When we hear the key
click in the car's ignition
we know it revs up
the entirety of the
auto industry complex
When we go out
to the grocery and
we pick up dozens
of pretty plastic packages
this vaults the massive
merchandise market forward
When deniers proudly posit
Climate Change is cyclical
and can correct itself
then they claim that only
they see absolute answers
proofs of holy writs and works
just as science seems so
godless in their minds
When each misguided decision
begets further derision
begging rationalized conclusions
bringing on dire resolutions
When denial shrewdly spreads
it tortures the truth
basic beliefs get gleefully tossed
so human is our concern
we truly never do learn
that denial can be final
When intellectual infractions
can't weather weak actions
are actually appalling
to the masses befalling
those who huddle and muddle
trembling in their fears
When plunderers are parading
as species are fading
while insidiously invading
our innocence ever near
When putting denial on trial
cautious whispers little hissings
crossing corridors of debate
truth continually comes too late
a well-hidden worn word
is the one least often heard
hence hard logic gets slurred
woefully ends in the absurd
Animal Riddles From the Bible
rhyming riddles  /  animal acrostics
Among the creatures serving God’s purpose
Wrought was I to wipe out the shade.
On a hot day, a vine sprung up high
Received blessing for being made.
Meanwhile I ate my lunch. Who am I?
An animal to ride, what is my name?
Noticed I an angel, standing still,
Avoided it three sep'rate times.
Seen not by my master until
Shrewdly I spoke of his crimes.
Lo, we’re strong beasts, we kept our mouths shut,
Ignored a tasty treat all night long.
Order from our King calls, “About-face!”
Now the jealous take their turn with the strong.
Starved, our mouths open, should we say grace?
Becoming skilled with these questions?
Experts, name the animals which
Attacked forty-two rude boys who
Repressed not their covetous itch?
Scorning a prophet, as kids will do.
Surely the most mentioned beast in God’s Word.
His own Son is called by our name
Except He wears our caretaker’s shoes.
Errors of mankind -- we bore the shame
Pardoned by our blood were all loyal Jews.
answer key: check the first letters of each lines in a stanza.
To Liive With No Anxiety In the Society
The best way to stay in this World,
Is to keep quiet and listen to all,
Taking everything good to heart
And leaving things that are bad
Without arguing with anybody,
We must pursue our life calmly
By quitting a place of argument
We can preserve our equanimity
We may face severe criticism
And many may against us work
Our duty is to shrewdly tackle
And lead a life of perfection
We mayn't be praised kindly
For our good act strangely,
Heaping many blames on us
Others may make us suffer
By being honest in our duty
And by obeying all the morals
We must perform our tasks
In the best possible way
Leading a life of perfection
May be an arduous task,
But, by sheer practice
We can acquire that skill
We must lead a peaceful life
And pass on peace to others
We must have a warm attitude
Toward everyone in the society
We must reduce World's burden
Through our act of pure mercy
And cooperate with everyone
To create a climate of bliss
If every individual follows Justice
And respect all the framed rules
Then, the whole world faces joy
And bliss permeates every heart
Let us have faith on the Lord
And submit our petition for relief
The generous Almighty will
Bless us to fulfill the needs!
