For Margarita Lillico's Picture Prompt limerick contest

There once was a canary full of rage. Who shrewdly trapped a sly cat in her cage. Without a feather ruffled and Kittie's meows muffled, she now ruled the roost, as queen of her stage!

"Queen of her stage" was perfect. I got a kick out of 'there once was a canary full of rage.' Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned from the canary. Don't let one's rage manifest...just kidding...no hidden messages here..just my weak attempt at humor. Best wishes with the contest, Sara

My dear friend, your Limerick brilliantly illustrates self-empowerment and taking charge of one's fate via the story of a canary who outwits a cat and rules her kingdom. Your use of "shrewdly," "ruffled," and "muffled" creates a humorous atmosphere. Alliteration in "feather ruffled" and "Kittie's meows" makes the poem more melodic. You personify the canary and cat by giving them human traits. Rhyme and rhythm provide humor and energy.

There was a time when Kittie was nasty / oh that little one could be quite feisty / but now she eats truffles / without any cuddles / she sits behind bars, eating nothing tasty.

Wow i love your rhymes and idea here is so clever and beautifully done! A brilliant limerick! One that is unique and different in diction and theme. I love the “ Without a feather ruffled and Kittie's meows muffled,“ brilliant! So cute the wordplay! And i also love “ she now ruled the roost, as queen of her stage!“ what an ending! Sly cat deserves it i guess! Hah! Well delivered! I think this will do very well in the contest! Best wishes! You can do any form any theme and leave us in awe!
