Shrewdly Played Charades

He said “I love you” in the night when all he truly meant was that he longed to kiss and hold her tight. She said “forever lets begin” when hearing words he spoke to her and then she willingly gave in. Their passions flowed, he curled her toes for fifteen minutes then without pretense he up and donned his clothes. She said “don’t go, please stay with me you promised me your love” but rudely he ignored her shameless plea. He said to her “you’re quite a score, and I’ve enjoyed your charms” as he was quickly walking to the door. She said “I think that I’ve been had, been duped and used again by one who’s nothing but a cunning cad.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These games with hearts are often played by scoundrels just for thrill and sport while leaving hopeful dreams dismayed. And so to all the fair young maids who long for lasting love, beware of men who shrewdly play charades. November 6, 2020

Plenty of those types out there many do it to feed their ego too thinking they are Gods and studs to women, Urgh! the pain and scars left behind can be very damaging, Emilia : )

Congrats. John well done - some women never learn and are had over and over again - guess a lot depends on upbringing. Well penned my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

This game of tease and please, but I am gonna soon leave, should never be played. It's so wrong. Yes, he is only after one thing. You have captured this moment and these emotions, with tenderness and truth. ~ Brandy

Sadly these cads exist not realising the emotional turmoil they cause with people's feelings, hope you are well John, enjoy your weekend. Tom

Perhaps they realize what they are doing but just don't care who they hurt as long as they get what they want. I have known people like this, to them love was just a big game. Thanks for sharing your thought. Have a great weekend my friend. John

I've never liked that game, nor the games people play with another's heart. The duping of love, finely portrayed, John.

You are so right, Jenna, people should never play games with another's heart, for whatever reason. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a great weekend. Hugs, John

Yes you are right, but such games are played by both genders, sadly.. It is not love that hurts, but those who abuse the concept of it.. Enjoyed your poem John..
