O - Sounds Greek to me.
P - It should be,
P - I am from Greece,
P - by the Aegean Sea.

now all at peace.
P - But before I go home,
P - I go to La La Land,
P - then on to Rome.

O - That land is a dreamland,
O - but wait, you no go back,
O - you go to that place?

P - All roads lead home, no offtrack.
O - But, La La, Dream, it's out in space.
P - It's okay, I got wings.

O - Okay, take the second star to the right, ...

P - No attached strings?
O - No you'll be alright.

O - And then, straight on till morning ...

To The North Pole Of Course (Part Two)

The farmlands, bridges and countrysides woosh by in a rush
then vanish before my eyes at a hundred and twenty six miles per hour.
My mind is traveling at the speed of Donner and Blitzen. It goes through a magical hourglass only to nestle inside a cinnamon scented wagon that is infused with the clanking of fine china cups. A peppery scent of hot chocolate perfumes the air and lands on my palate, sweetly.
While I am being ushered forth into Christmas, I sift through time, backpedaling swifter than Santa's mistletoe kiss.
I hear his rippling laughter and melt like butter.

My extra sensory perception picks up the echoes through the halls of my memory
and I say to myself, " I think I'm going home, to the North Pole of course."

Of Course It's Horses

Have you seen dudes feed their dates on straw or hay?
I have! I have been through the States of usa!
A society watched aghast at the Kentucky Derby
As the jockey got half-mast and Ken snuck into Barbie.

Now hand in hoof they trot along
Love's aloof, is it ever wrong?
So Ken was fined then he married that lady horse
Taken nine months carried holding baby Centaurs
I'm guessing the vicar's even sicker
The blessing of Love he delivered.

With softly diverted silken manes
From a Godly pervert hidden in Maine
They look nearly perfect kids, in their reins
They've got four legs like a table
You won't fit them in a second hand cradle
Their Dad is Short and Odd, but Mum's more switched On.

Would they be employed by Horse's Resources
When they were deployed to the work force
Would it be classed a win in the awful rat race
To have a stable relationship in a beautiful place
Paddocks of green, Haydock seems keen
I just hope they are tame with Neigh-bours
Why the long face? Smile your famous!
With that much dough they could bake thoroughbread
With lots to plough, they'll be well fed
Could his favourite drink be Red Rum
Would his feet clink when he wiped his bum
He'd definitely not be all fingers and thumbs
Not to mention what his wife says, about his tongue.
His life story mate you would have to witness
Cos no bookmaker could ever print this.

Aquarius - of Course

I am
Aquarius
We, ahead of our time
                 so I am told

Thinkers
Listless, obsessed
'Till all is perfected
                         so I am told.

October 24, 2019
(with apologies to e e cummings)

I am aware that this parody of cummings' sonnet may be controversial-- but then, so was the original... and being controversial never stopped cummings! I also thought it might be interesting to approach the idea of the original poem from the other direction, so to speak. Compare it to the original text... a link:
https://allpoetry.com/next-to-of-course-god-america-i
I adhered to the usual ten syllables per line, while cummings' lines, while mostly of 10-syllables, varied, from nine to twelve. I did faithfully follow his rhyme scheme in the sestet (abcba c). I also toyed with the notion of changing the "He" to "She" in the final line, but decided to remain nearer the original... still, that would be the PC thing to do, eh?

Note 12/7/2019: while this, like the original cummings poem, is an Italian [Petrarchan] Sonnet [of sorts], I have reclassified it as a "Burlesque" since it is of course a parody.

A Horse of Course

A horse of a different color, could be
a matter of what you had thought you would see.
It comes down to what you’re expecting, of course,
you could even question the fact it’s a horse.

They don’t call it horse-sense for nothing, you see,
I’ve never been wrong, according to me.

An Alligator Poem of Course

An Alligator Poem of Course

Fed potent sweet potaters to some alligators
Who later in life liked to and became demonstrators
And will all swim along in water single file
When opening long mouth have a languishing smile.

Back and forth each one will wiggle long tail
While on wide back while wear many a scale
Big eyes out of water both are protruding
While branches and stumps will be eluding.

Alligators have own way of doing things
And with whole body each of them brings
An eye considered to be a constant rover
Always liking to look for a leftover.

An alligator never will want to alienate
Or while at it start to or try and agitate
Mouths become unruly like a rubber stamp
Putting impressions on you when down do clamp.

Sounds like a North Carolina Politician of one sort or another.

A Horse, a Horse, of Course, of Course

A Horse, A Horse, Of Course, Of Course

For horses, horse flies,
For humans, shame,
But horses don't kill off
The halt and the lame.
It's apples and oranges.
My, what a surprise.
Horses don't deal in
Deception ... and lies.
Just stop and think.
A no-brainer ... of course.
To have a clear conscience,
One needs be a horse.

Of Course

Awaken, this first breathe commemorates your new day. You’ve great things to do and we’re waiting, the trees, the birds, and I. Hanging on a moment. And with a slight endeavor…you create your own destiny. Eyes bear witness to the marvel that is you. The great mother, the divine goddess. Paths merge and become one. I wait for that embrace. I wait for true warmth. Skin on skin, sharing a breathe. Welcome our lives. We, as one. Our Sanctified path. Tis our destiny that we forge. Sulfur crown illuminates as the mystics have chosen. We are night sky beyond human design.
