Best Mouthy Poems

Premium Member Hear Ear

Over recent months I’ve had trouble with my hearing…
Misinterpreting what is being said isn’t so endearing

Take a step back and think of all the things you would miss if you couldn’t hear at all

The list is endless but here are a few I came up with

The cry of a newborn baby and your child’s first words
The symphony of the dawn chorus
Music and speech on the radio or TV
Phone conversations or chatting with friends
Going to the theatre or to a concert
The door bell or alarm clock ringing

And of course there are those three little words we love to hear …

‘IS DINNER READY ?’

OOPS I MEAN

I LOVE YOU

I took the plunge and saw a specialist and have been fitted with a hearing aid
Wow what a difference it has made

I can hear perfectly now
From the squeak of a mouse to the moo of a cow

And the best bit of all…

If someone is mouthy and starts to scoff
I can quickly turn my hearing aid off!!!

N B I have to approach what has been and what is going on in my life with humour it is just the way I cope with what life throws my way

A Tribute To Eminem

Without you there's no doubt I'd be
a man without this poetry,
you brought the artist out of me,
my rhymes make up your legacy.

The millions that you got through too
took comfort that they felt like you,
writing songs that are pure and true
easing minds as Churchill would do.

Your songs in which you're sad or fume
have never needed Auto tune,
as you change the minds that assume
you're nothing but a mouthy loon.

Lost yourself in the moment and grabbed it,
but have never used your songs to brag it,
too busy writing lyrical magic
and overcoming all those bad habits.

When written off you always return,
and spit sick lyrics but some don't learn,
the rest of them all live concerned,
your status was no gift but earned.

A man that called himself Slim Shady
inspired and found the poet in me.
As I hyper focus and rhyme with ADHD,
feeling hopeless goes unnoticed and I am set free.

With all the rhymes that I have penned
I'm nothing but a Stan 'til the end,
I don't know you but you're a friend,
Marshall Mathers, a living legend.

Premium Member He Exploded Like a Pressure Cooker

THE IDIOM I MADE UP IS - HE EXPLODED LIKE A PRESSURE COOKER

My son has returned to our home
He’s mouthy and just loves to moan
Now nothing is right
We constantly fight
He’s like a dog missing its bone!

His wife was once such a good looker
Her red lips she just loved to pucker
After botox and filler
She looked like a gorilla ...
He exploded like a pressure cooker!

The tension between us is rife
I’m his mum and not his ex wife
But his reaction is mean
Shouting, letting off steam
She left him because of this strife!

Uppity Darkie

Light minded people say I’m an uppity darkie
They color me bad,
with a black face, felt pen Sharpie
Vanilla voices downright don’t like
the audio sounds of this mouthy darkie
They say I’m way too uppity,
don’t know what my proper place be
Snow cone hats say they gon have to teach me,
there's a painful cost for thinking free
They wanna call the fascist calvary and give me
some old-fashioned triple Kord rope justice,
by them good ole boys neo-Nazi vigilantes
They say my strait Nazarene speech
borders on treason,
that it needs to be muzzled
But I’ve always given king Pharaoh Caesar
his required slave taxes —
His printed paperweight metallic tribute ...
so what’s the dispute?
My Herodian enemies want so bad
to reach into their torture trick bag,
and gag my mouth with a gasoline soaked rag
Then lie in wait for my muffled words
to set that tri-colored cloth on fire
Red cheek coconut meat,
dressed in blue uniforms pressed neat,
wanna beat, kick, pound
some patriotic sense into me
Giving thinly veiled warnings:
saying ship that ghetto talk back to Africa
Carting rice-colored evil thoughts
that are Balaam Iscariot store bought
Walking weeds in the Goshen grassroots,
wearing bloodstained slaughterhouse coats,
got indigo disdain for this uppity darkie
They wanna sell some
strange rotting fruit hanging from a tree
Hating me because I stood up
in the open free market place
And declared with Lion of Judah boldness,
they were selling the people rancid red meat lies
wrapped in waxy white packages
And giving State-Don’t-Care samples away
of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer bottles of hate
I ain’t nothing but a pseudo-smart, intellectual wannabe
It’s what my rabbit ears detractors say ...
yeah, that’s how they regard me
As just another trouble making uppity darkie

Premium Member Be Aware, My Friend

Beware the tenderness of anyone’s toes
Especially that of your friends and foes,
For pain, they say, is its own reward
Can be magnified with additional woes.

Carefully measure your daily deplored
Consider exactly what you can afford,
Wise to keep in mind the old, old saying
A pen is mightier than the sharpest sword.

Eschew the obnoxious mouthy braying
Think about those words you are saying,
Not easily embracing mundane compliance
Your time better spent in earnest praying.

Be skeptical of those who seek alliance
For they have capacity to offer defiance,
For your actions they do not think right
When you are seeking a friendly reliance.

Be aware, my friend, of every slight
Keep both friends and enemies in sight,
And walk your own paths in caution
Especially when strolling in darkest night.

Premium Member Kid Colt, Outlaw

The sounds of wolves howling... echoed loudly,
deep in the solitary woods of no mans land,
While the blazing campfire shared its hearth proudly,
heating the pot of coffee Kid Colt had close at hand,

Each day rehashed such thoughts of how it could be,
for one labeled an outlaw man,
Would it be jail....or staying free,
or getting dealt the dead mans hand?

Staying on the run is sure trouble,
when yer wanted dead or alive fer a crime,
If yer shot dead, all they need is a shovel,
alive, it's a hanging or prison time,

Card games can bring out the worse in a man,
if yer drinking gets ya mouthy and drunk,
and blaming a player of a cheating hand,
could be yer jawin' on too big a chunk!

Saw many a man shot between the eyes,
and some plumb through the chest!
Too slow a gun, ain't no surprise,
The fastest can be the deadliest!

Never plan to kill over a triple jack hand,
and don't fancy getting called a cheat in any card play!
Not enough guts could get ya shot in the back, and,
could have, can't back down, turn around, can't walk away.

                "Epic Epigram"

His name came rightly so,
He carried two colts wherever he'd go,
"The Outlaw" came, from his death dealing draw!
during card games or a fist fighting brawl!
Boom! down one went! Boom! Boom! 3 bullets spent!
Boom! Boom! Boom! hell bound they're sent,
by Kid Colt, The Outlaw Gent.

Eerie Sight

Coach Alan Brown was incredibly unique
At eighty he had an athlete's physique.
A fullback mocked his years,
Brown hefted him by his ears.
Since then mouthy jocks have squelched every squeak.

Offensive Talker

Mouthy, offensive
Talking rudely out of turn
Learning deficits

Classroom victims-child
Awaiting salvation, and
Great education!

I wrote this for my son, who goes to school and got punished because of the groups wrongly
talking too much, he felt it wasn't fair. I have been there too.

Inside Me

Sweet dreams producing Ice Cream underneath satisfying sheets, seeing you through the eye's of my mind I can pull you inside me. This Love Matrix, flexible Love Jones, happy faces and vertical joy rides, oh me... oh my! You feel so good inside my mind. Hands clinched, sweat pouring, uncontrollable multiples, walls squeezing you like a hug, voices ( RINGING OUT LIKE THUNDER!!!). Beautiful death take me now so I may awaken to the rising of the sun slightly! Purples Skies... Candles still glowing on our brown skin, I can't tell where yours begin and I can't tell where mines end. New day trickery and he's asleep! My mouthy retreat to be an alarm clock, wetter then Lake Michigan. Every lick skillfully teasing, now latched on, time for the pleasing.
Look at me as I feed! power in my skills, stiffness in his magic stick, I'm going deeper aiming for thirst quenching elixir. Wait... hold your escape, new route I want to taste. Straddling your anaconda instantly my levy breaks, sweet milk all over the place! You say in dominance who said that you could release now my demand is for you to clean this up, and in submission I am eager to love his lust, as he watches me I am eager to make him BUST! Quickly turning me out, under AND over, but I like it from behind where the claps from the slaps lie, blowing my mind. I feel like an ovation, clap clap clap, erotic potion stirring, work that that that! Explosive Like TNT... Squirting hot like lava making you put a hurting on me!
Long back strokes like an Olympic swimmer wanting a gold medal and retire! Unbelievable enough I take you higher wanting every drip drop til it's gone. Yet the sensitivity in you got me feeling like the head beauty in the beast that I am! Inside me... these dreams got me feeling like a freak, must change the sheets.... now back to reality shaken from a dream!

Barely Standing On Sinking Sand

Although she longed, prayed and hoped he wasn’t away

she still couldn’t stand the thought of him being no more

only having known each other for a few weeks

when love at first sight kicked in

they walked together holding hands like inseparable love birds,

talked about anything from life, to love,

and how they would never leave nor forget each other,

moved together in synchrony

and tried so many treats

and almost everything

from piggybacks to mouthy caresses

The rumors of his untimely demise sent her shriveling

from a beautiful rose to a wilting, wrinkled lily

she was eventually lost to the unbearable memories

of her prince charming’s death

Shortly after her passing away,

her prince's survival resurfaced

drowning the untrue rumors

when asked about her

all he could remember

were the images of a damsel

built on nothing else
                                but
                      sinking
                                sand….

Premium Member Button Your Lip

"Button your lip!" my mother used to say
I can hear her voice to this very day

Back then we were seen and not heard
You'd better not say even one more word

And if the message was still not clear
Shed reinforce with a swat to the rear

"Button you lip", my dear dad never said
He'd just stammer and his face would turn red

I'm told I was always a "mouthy" girl
Perhaps that's why I give poetry a whirl.....
