A Tribute To Eminem

Without you there's no doubt I'd be
a man without this poetry,
you brought the artist out of me,
my rhymes make up your legacy.

The millions that you got through too
took comfort that they felt like you,
writing songs that are pure and true
easing minds as Churchill would do.

Your songs in which you're sad or fume
have never needed Auto tune,
as you change the minds that assume
you're nothing but a mouthy loon.

Lost yourself in the moment and grabbed it,
but have never used your songs to brag it,
too busy writing lyrical magic
and overcoming all those bad habits.

When written off you always return,
and spit sick lyrics but some don't learn,
the rest of them all live concerned,
your status was no gift but earned.

A man that called himself Slim Shady
inspired and found the poet in me.
As I hyper focus and rhyme with ADHD,
feeling hopeless goes unnoticed and I am set free.

With all the rhymes that I have penned
I'm nothing but a Stan 'til the end,
I don't know you but you're a friend,
Marshall Mathers, a living legend.

I cannot believe that I just came across this poem! This is incredible! I, too, have severe ADHD. I, too, am a HUGE Eminem fan... like huge! I recently started to really listen to the lyrics and told my sister “the more I listen to the words in eminem’s Raps, the more I think we have in common.” She thought it was hilarious and maybe it is because he is crazy AF. I am too though lol. I was actually thinking of writing a tribute poem here soon. This whole MGK crap has me pumped!

Thanks Anna, yeah you should write one, I wrote this after the MGK bull, I also wrote two poems (well a really long one split into two) where I diss his lyrics (not all that really from a poet point of view) and diss MGK myself, Eminem uses words like a poet would do, people dont realise, he's powerful as a mofo with them, kind of like a modern day Churchill in how he can hit home the point
