Best Indulgence Poems
Sweet the taste of honeyed lips
Upon my own, now drenched in bliss
Nectar tempting, beckoning with
Passion's most consuming kiss
Outpouring tenderness so softly
Though hearts are heavy, they alight
Engulf each thought of rationale
As we succumb to this delight
Outside nothing else exists
While this rare moment we prolong
Ceasing fight and argument, now
We give in to the siren song
The melody we play entrances
As would hypnotic pendulum
Heart strings strum forbidden dances
As it beats a savage drum
Leading up to its crescendo
The rhythm pounds erratically
Pulsing, raging, beats the tempo
Until we find our ecstasy

Smothered in rich dark melted chocolate

The neighborhood buffet boasted
fried chicken and biscuits, toasted,
creamy gravy, and smashed taters.
You can serve yourself, no waiters.
Into the long line you will strut
more than ready to fill your glut.
Bypass the green salads and soup;
run quickly, to the fried foods swoop
all you can eat for one price cheap.
Pile your plate high in one big heap.
If one plate full is not enough,
get back in line and your mouth stuff
with fried okra and sweet cornbread,
rice, beans, pasta, and liver spread.
Undo your belt a notch or two
so one more bite you can chew.
Desserts abound, cookies and cakes,
puddings, custards, tarts, and milk shakes.
Round out the meal with soft ice cream.
Maybe two cones won’t burst a seam.
You leave, with a bloated waist thick,
well-sated, and full as a tick.
Oh if i had the wings of an eagle
i would swoon to pick you up
and take you to a place
i call never land
where passion is the beverage
that parched lips taste
where scorching love cascade
never are your desires gratified 100%
they are continually foraged
upon the bed of elation
diminish burdens and be uninhibited
let go of all your encumbrances
let me my love liberate your mind and soul
as i take you on a fervent journey
that will tantalize your very essence
and trigger an excruciating nostalgia
that only can be pacified by I
Unswallowed lumps of lobster immodest
Crustacean returns to pincers persimmon
Waitress whisk indiscernible clears linen
Custom of one equates her eight hour day
Has It All Paul wipes away gourmet residual
Exhaustion frightened by frothy latte
Fingers in pies finance necromancer denies
Bulging funds fail to complete, coins conflict
Periphery rebuffs, enough is finite, endless leers
Goblet of gluttony grape broth overflow inflicts
Victim of vanished virtue, bon vivant declaration
Transmutes rules, outruns consequence
Guidance glued in buttery dough glides rhetorical
Yacht reined in quay quiver, another arrow for Cupid
Entertainment timed to change with shifting tides
Inglots tossed overboard drown in debauch
Drunk playboy Paul while vulnerable divulges
Disdain for greeds' steep scrag, perpetual pursuit
Outdo, prove prowess for those who never realise
Incongruent grapple for further forgets to cherish
Partners relent, resources force caucus to submit
Patronising Paul procures boardroom obedience
Inundating debt retards bombastic boon reward
Promise of association silences indulgent sin

My favorite shoes? It’s wearing none!
I'll go barefoot, to have a run
I hate to lose
the joy of ooze
between my toes, some goo is fun !
I simply love my precious toes
to wiggle freely to and fro
Bound feet? Oh dear!
Don’t get me near!
A shoe is torture, and my foe!
I could not dance on twinkle toes
Could not advance my prance or pose
A barefoot stance
Is my best chance
of never needing pantyhose!
Indulge me please, I'll be carefree
Removing shoes, in company
No matter what the circumstance
I'll slip them off at every chance
I'll tuck my feet behind my chair
assuming no one is aware
A happy dance, behind my back,
is going on, and that's a fact!
I hope that you won't think to check,
and say that I have no respect
My toes are happy, to be sure
Indulge me please, but don't despair
I'm saving up for pedicures!

For Shadow Hamilton's Contest: "Indulgence"
Revised 2/4/15
I shall indulge in a glorious decadence,
caressing the softness of your bronze skin.
Luxuriating in your coconut scented splendor,
as I gorge on the succulence of your bounty.
Caressing the softness of your bronze skin,
it is impossible to imagine a greater pleasure.
As I gorge on the succulence of your bounty,
my mouth craves to know you completely....
It is impossible to imagine a greater pleasure,
Consummate with me our boundless passion!
My mouth craves to know you completely,
let our bodies be instruments of true loves expression.
Consummate with me our boundless passion,
leaving not a single desire unexpressed.
Let our bodies be instruments true loves expression,
only then can we truly be transformed.
Leaving not a single desire unexpressed,
luxuriating in your coconut scented splendor.
Only then can we truly be transformed.
We shall indulge in a glorious decadence!

For Shadow's indulgence Contest
Indulgence- how one strives to treat oneself
relies on circumstances that life brings.
For some, indulgence far exceeds the norm;
for others, it may feast on simple things.
I think of this and what indulgence means
to me, and I am baffled since I lead
a life with normal joys and can't reflect-
what more would satisfy a want or need?
One day, it came to mind- a far-fetched dream;
a trip- an ocean cruise on the Allure,
Royal Caribbean’s colossal ship-
to sail with all my family, for sure!
Our children, grandkids, siblings- spouses too,
all those I'd love to share with and enthrall,
with that great ship’s superb amenities
and stops at warm and sunny ports of call.
To live relaxed with loved ones for one week
aboard a piece of heaven out at sea;
this would fulfill my grand indulgence dream-
to share this luxury with family.

I ponder on what I would like to indulge
Had I but enough time and money
And the only thing good I judge
Is a room filled with books and sunny
A space of my own to escape at will
A sanctuary wherein no other can chill
A chamber of glass, with the view of clear sky
A place so large with shelves up high
Rows of books lined up by a roomer
Of genres consisting of romance and humour
A collection vast to read and ponder
of Jude, Judith or Maeve in order
With soft music flowing to soothe my mind
And shades I can lower as I wind
If only I had enough time and money
How I would relish this dream euphony

A granite bust statuette of Nefertiti
Bought at Abu Simbel on our Egyptian cruise
Serves us as a solid paperweight
On windy mornings reading the 'Weekly News'.
A cigar on the terrace is my only indulgence
Just one for the whole day not long after lunch
Before we set forth on our post-prandial stroll
Round the urbanisation; we're pleased as punch.
We may encounter an acquaintance or two
For a chin-wag, who'd fill us in on the local news
Some could be true, but mostly hot gossip
Flammable, but no way we'd blow our fuse.
A poem gets written here right on this page
Without the least effort, (how stupendous!);
Who says English is not my first language?
I share this with you, and it's tremendous!
My favorite indulgence may sound strange to you,
But it is something relaxing I enjoy to do.
You may be wondering what could it be,
I'll give you a hint, no one else is involved, only me.
Odd as it may seem that it's a fun thing for one,
But i go in the shower and think of the sun.
I feel the hot water on my skin and face,
The feeling of purity is a something I will always embrace.
The water runs down my back and through my hair,
I love this feeling and it's something I won't share.
It rids me of the fast paced day that I had,
And I always feel happy, never sad.
When my indulgence is over and my shower is though,
Nothing can bring me down or make me feel blue.
This is my secret that makes me smile,
You should try it sometime, just for a quick while.

Chocolate,
it's been a rocky road
deliciously swirled
in mouth
a delectable treat
quickly melting within the heat
a bite teased, aimed to please
more than sex appealed
WHIPPED creamed
caramel covered
BANANAS
shimmering glass beads
spooned and licked clean
in the moonlight
a midnight dance
cumulating into the kitchen
the night young
as we
indulging
overwhelming the senses
our needs
it's more than just vanilla
to me
putrid rascal was a real truant
and also a junkie
and a somnambulist too
and wicked gourmet bought a new guillotine
then the rascal walked dizzily
like a mechanic dancer
around the cinnamon circle
right under the scythe
and underwent a severance
the staggering truth was quite vague
then a postwar prelude under the lurid sky
piccolo semitone
sacrament
orchids
silhouettes on a merry-go-round
the jetty broke up
and a castaway went away
right before dawning
beforethe stellar equinox
but journey was a humdrum
with nautical nausea
just a medley of flukes
so we hit the road
on the roof of a magic bus
not just figurative
really peculiar
and finally let behind
all the cold sensations
a marble queen visits
with a priest with no faith
and start gentle mutiny
the celestial journey
is over at ten p.m.
and all we got left
is a sobering lethargy
