You Steal My Beauty To Heart With Glee

You Steal My Beauty To Heart With Glee

Clear night sky once told me to yield
Hold your horses and be quite still
You are but a dot in a dirty brown field
Certainly nothing to give others a thrill.

Now go lay in a moonlit cave
head bowed and heart seeking relief
Give thanks for what I gave
and seek mercy for you are a thief.

You steal my beauty to heart with glee
yet return not praise and glory my way
Yes, you love deep what you see
but fail to ever give me proper pay.

What could I say facing such true accusations?
I simply bowed my head and gave sincere salutations.

R.J. Lindley
Spring, 1971

Note- From my private journal. Written two years after my father's death.
I often wandered out into that barren brown field late at night to gaze at the vastness of the universe and ask why he was taken from me...
Soon with no satisfactory answer, I turned to hating the world with vengeance in my heart that continued for 18 long and painful years ..

Gems Grandmother Gifts From Her Golden Word-Loom

Gems Grandmother Gifts From Her Golden Word-Loom

Gems grandmother gifts from her golden word-loom
Hold those fast horses and keep clean your own room
If you work, be sure to fill your hungry tanks
If you are grateful, you have just me to thank
I wash your dirty laundry and cook your meals
Sell our extra eggs just to pay the high bills
Careful, watch your step, pains are great from deep falls
Color outside, do not mark on my clean walls
Think hard before you leap, doctors are not cheap
If you are playing for love, best play for keep
If you work real hard, you get money for town
Here we do not pay for you being a clown
We raise our chickens, goats, pigs and corn to eat
Know keeping this place afloat is quite a feat
Now go on, do your chores and we will be fine
Breakfast at six, come too late you do not dine
We do not burn our candles too late at night
Do not anger me, it's not a pretty sight
Enjoy the sun, God placed it there just for you
If you think me too hard, best you get a clue
Now hold your horses, God did not give me wings
I see you happy, my heart races and sings
Stop complaining, today is Sunday and clear
Now wash your hair and clean good behind each ear
No child, not everything I say is funny
What, you think we are rich and made of money
Dear child, listen to granny she tells you true
Even when mad, I love every one of you
So remember well your granny when she dies
Treasure each moment, you know how fast time flies
Now child heed well my wise words when you are grown
You reap no rich harvest if bad seeds are sown!

Two Hearts, Two Lives, An Eternal Meld

Two hearts, Two Lives, An Eternal Meld

Hold your horses, those waters arent so deep
far, far more to life that eating and sleep.
Roses gleaming, dawn's beckoning new frosts
things you'd defend at any and all costs.
Picnicking, lakeside with your true soulmate
times you won, while so sorely tempting Fate!

Living to discover love, its treasures
path taken, with life's sweet, simpler pleasures.
Now gaze back at nights of hottest romance
with future lives planned, nothing left to chance.

Magnificent joy, two loving gems held
with two hearts, two lives, an eternal meld.

My Best Friend, the Lesbian

My very best friend is a lesbian,
not bisexual, she is not at all attracted to men.
There is nothing butch about her, she is absolutely stunning.
When I look at her I often wish that I was a lesbian,
but our friendship is built on the foundation,
of us always verbally abusing each other more times than none.
When we first met, picking her up was my intention,
before I discovered she was a lesbian.
"Listen pretty boy," she said to me,
"I think you're a great guy but not at all for me.
I know that you'll find someone one day
who will make you very happy,
but this is never going to happen sweetie. It's not you, it's me."
"Whoa! Hold your horses there Annie Oakley,
did you just "It's not you, it's me," to me?!
Let me tell you something my little curious honey,
I created "It's not you, it's me," so please,
don't even try to feed me lies about being a lesbian to me.
You wouldn't believe how many times,
women feed me that tired old "I'm a lesbian" lie,
I average about a dozen of those women every week at the very least,
just be honest with me, just answer me truthfully,
what did I do wrong, why am I not your kind of guy?"
She gave me a pity kiss, and then told me this,
"I'm not attracted to you because your genitals are on the outside,
I Am Not Attracted To Men! I AM A Lesbian!
IT REALLY ISN'T YOU, IT'S I!..
"Well, can I call you," I asked, "and keep giving it a shot?"
Anguished, she grabbed me by my collar, her temper raging hot,
then smiled and winked at me and said, "Sure, why not."
.. and ever since then we have been the best of friends,
verbally abusing the hell out of each other over and over again,
but whenever a crisis in my life does occur,
I honestly don't know what I would do without her.
I'll be talking more about my lesbian friend,
every so often, now and again.

Catch Phrase Reunion

Catch phrase’s class reunion day
All showed up to have their say…….

Willy Nilly was married to Hold your horses
Met during a PE class on the obstacle courses
Sorry Charlie always had a crush on Get a clue
But she fell for another, Give the devil his due

What the Sam hill and A day Late and a dollar short
Had the biggest battle ever seen on Divorce Court.

Totally, Radical, and Righteous all best of friends
Married to Bodacious, Groovy and You Da Man

Cool Beans was single and still living with mom
Brought his young girlfriend her name was Da Bomb

Two sheets to the wind asked Lord willing to dance
While The full Monty made out with Half a chance

Look what the cat drug in was late but nothing new
Sauntering in with her new squeeze, called Cat man doo

Dig it got a little fresh with Talk to the hand
And his wife What Ever she just left with the band

Better you than me came looking for Mind your Ps and Qs
But ended up leaving with the famous twins “It takes two”

Take a picture it will last longer captures the moments
While Read all about it goes around asking for comments

A cold day in Hell final came but no one was there to see
They all went over to For Heaven Sakes house for a cuppa’ a tea
The end……

The Melody in My Heart

The Melody in My Heart
Written by J. W. M. Earnings
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x6
There is something different in my heart
There is something missing from the start
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
The melody in my heart, kept concealed…
Believe or not, I have been healed…
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Trust turns to dust as my heart begins to rust
This heart full of veins and arteries are gonna bust
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2

Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…

Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
There is something different in my heart
There is something missing from the start
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
The melody in my heart, kept concealed…

Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Trust turns to dust as my heart begins to rust
This heart full of veins and arteries are gonna bust
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Something is in the atmosphere…
Something called Wretched Fear…
Nobody knows me at all…at all…
I guess I will try and try and try to stand tall…
Just answer my call…my melody…an entrancing tale from the heart…
I’m mesmerized by your might
I memorized the Word of God…a glorious, gracious light…

Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…

Hm, someone is thinking of me…
I can feel it under my skin
Hm, someone out there is willing to be set free
Like me…like me…where have you gone? Don’t flee from my grasp…I gasp…I make wounds in my heart…it’s bleeding with regret, but it’s an emotional piece of ART
It’s bleeding out regret…I’m awfully upset…
Cry me a river and deliver me from bondage…
Cry me a lake and don’t put my life at stake…
Give me a break…for Goodness Sake…

Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in noise…
Come on and rejoice
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…
You can do it if you put your mind to it
I don’t want to admit it…I don’t fit…
I don’t fit…I don’t fit in…
I can move on and go forward…
But, darling, wait up! Hold your horses!
Please don’t go backward…
Words, like birds, release…
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Give…us…peace…
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Drenched in silence
Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x2
Give…us…not…chaos…
The ocean below us
Is like the sky…sky…sky…
We’re on the same bus
Don’t pass me by…by…
I wanna fly with the flock today
But, tonight, I won’t be doused in dismay
Doused in dismay
Doused in…di-i-i-ismay…
 Hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm…hm….x6
I didn't mean to do you harm x3,
But you're not my kind

I.

Hold your horses just for a minute
Awaken from a sleep, seems so infinite
Look around you, seek beyond what your eyes' limit
Take the chance to meditate - Quiescence, offer it.

II.

Arose bountiful crimes diverged - evolved
               Forgiveness - Generous hearts initiation
Jailed kindness lulled, Music now on play
                      Quiet, realize, STOP, think
Understand vagues, work out excemptions, yawning ZOMBIE?

III.

                         Look, listen, love, learn lots
Find for forgiveness, for freedom - FORGIVE

So What

In school there was this guy named Terry and he was always getting body art
Everybody was talking about it and jealous and wanted to look like his body parts
they said "Isn't he cool, watch the girls look at him and drool"
he's so buffed and so good looking and they think he's so cool
wonder why he looks like that and nobody else does
he seems like a loner, he just hangs out with girls with his peach fuzz
They say he has a brother, wonder what he looks like
I've only heard that he's bigger and get's him into a fight
Whose idea is this body art anyway?
without knowing the family I can't really say
So he started talking with the kid so he could stay
after school and later go home with him
maybe come in early and workout the gym
so I went to his house and his brother was the same way
They had sleeves of body art, they were nice
They were not scary or different, they were right
so I was thinking like "What's the big deal"
so they're different so can't we get real
He's nice man and he won't hurt you
He's got a great brother and he's cool too
If people just got him from the start
They wouldn't be so afraid like after the dark
So I'm the only one that knows for sure
that he's so innocent, he's just different there's no cure
needed for this guy, he won't hurt you or bite
if you just talk to him like a person you just might
figure it out and not be mad at him without
giving him a chance or a shout
you'd be friends with him too no doubt
you'll realize there was "no big deal"
just because they thought of it for real
Hold your horses down
don't be a clown
you can have nerves of steel
cause it's no big deal

Someone to Hold 5

Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Oxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Seriously, madly in love once more
What am I waiting for? What AM I waiting for?
You ain't no bore and you're more exciting than a folklore
You are my future in store
So what am I waiting for? Waiting for?
I am through with waiting for that open door

I'm no dirty little liar, burning in the devouring fire of deceptive desire
I'm not the leader of that empire
You treat me like I'm useless and weak
But I'm better than what you make me feel, pardon me, I'm bleak
I seek to be worthy in your eyes, so please give me a second chance to enhance our relationship
I need to probably let it be and get a grip

I need to hold on to what I truly believe
I believe in logical thinking and it leads me to know the truth..
What a relief...I can breathe and no longer grieve
I wish to relieve the pain...I know I'm part of your pain like an aching tooth

Don't pull me out though
No doubt, I love you, you know...yeah, uhuh, you know
You know where the wicked wind blow
Find me in the maze in which I graze
For, I was roaming aimlessly in your sugar-coated gaze
Oh-oh I mean, your sugar-sweet gaze

You're a beautiful baby to hold
You are a mystery, left untold
Let your wings of flight unfold
Hold me close, for I am cold
You're a beautiful baby to hold
You are a mystery, left untold
Let your wings of flight unfold

Memories
Come back to haunt me
Fairies
Are trapped in the cave, longing to flee
I, too, wanna be free
Do you want to be free with or without me?
Tell me without hesitation
Don't lie just to see my anticipation
You're as sweet and luscious as berries
Your cheeks blush is just like a million of vermillion cherries

Remember
To fast forward our tough times
December
Is around the corner, but our love is hot and priceless, unlike dimes
We were lost and now, we're found
Above or below the ground
Don't frown upon us so, we will ask You to bestow blessings upon us as our relationship begins to grow
Together, we are all aglow
Regretless just fo-show
I dig your style of running the mile for a while
You are not that paper that I leave in the file
You are prized above all poetry I've written
I know, the evil fruit I've bitten, but I'm not totally smitten
We are unforgotten and forgiven
We are not the rotten apples of the bunch...we are facing hardships again to test our faith towards God, not men

Hold me close, for Our Love might grow cold
Maybe, it might grow mold...ew...I don't want our love to grow old
Hold
Hold
Hold
I missed you...the one I hold
You missed me...the one you hold
Hold onto a friendship that won't grow cold and old
It will just make us more bold and less afraid...enough to uphold
You're the bridge and I'm the river
I'm the savior and you're the one to deliver
Say a prayer with me...with you and me, God will hear and answer our prayer
Solitude has made our attitude of gratitude wear out
God will revive it once more, so leave no room for doubt
God is calling me, hold your horses...
Oh wow! He has revealed to us His narrow route
God also diminishes the dark forces...
Thank you in advance
Now, what about you hold me and let's make our own bad romance?

You are the best of the best
I know I act like a brainless pest
You are my all-time favorite fest
Why don't you leave out all the rest?
I think it will be best to let you catch up with your rest
Let me hold on to you all night long...our fears are as far as the east to the west
Hold
Hold
H-hold
Hold onto my heart before it brakes
Sleep with me before darkness awakes
I cry when I can't hold you
I smile when I get to hold you
Our love is a homemade stew
It's scrumptious, leaving us without a clue
You knew how much I love you
Hold on to me and stick to me like glue
Dying of the luv flu
That silly little thing called luv flu is what I have when its just you and me
Everyone can see we
We don't mind much you see? If we did, we'd be considered crazy
It doesn't matter if you and I get all lazy
I don't care anyways
Hold me...it's one of those yay days
We had our ways and our High Spirit strays

House To House

House to house
A passing, admiring scent

Hold me...we'll pass
House to house
You are still apart of me

Hold your horses
Fight the tears
Wipe them away until everything
Clears

House to house
Passing by torment
Do you know the hint?

When time runs out
I wait till some sun
Peaks in this forbidden forest
Tormented by breaking summers

Drenched...on no one's side
Just stay near...beside...abide
We'll stay house to house

Excited by curiosity
There will be a house for us
At last

A key to joy
Let us go...explore this terrain

We'll have a roof
To push aside the rain
To clear our years away

We are definitely here to stay

House to house
Torment to joy
We are invited
To stay here forever

At last

Without no guilt
There is no way
That I'm moving
No more

This desire
Ruins me to the core

I'm sure
At last
With my lady friend
And began to tend
Our wanted life
Without
Passing
House to house
Dealing with passing
To and fro by searching
House to house

At last!

Praying Manny

Look at olé Manny over there. He's been praying for grown back hair. Hair back Back hair Hair is neither here nigh under where. At night we pray for tight'ee whites; Following morning awaken by a huge wedgie wearing panties. Shake it off and tone it down. Take it easy now, now. Hold your horses there pray full man. Eating tiger sporting a lions mane feeding heads. I said, I see I said, I taw a pudgy fat hippy cat rocking dreads. Looking like a praying mantis crossed with a giraffe. Bitting your toungue, covering your mouth; trying not to laugh, You see poor olé Manny with a blank look of dismay. Holding tightly onto his toupee on another windy day. Even today, he continues to pray as he slumps in his chair. And people just don't understand why because Manny is amazing with or without grown back hair. 8~21~16

Hold

Hold your horses,
hold your guns.
Give me time,
or give me love.
Let me breathe,
in my beliefs,
about oceans deep,
and clovers with 4 leaves.
Hold it in,
hold the phone,
Let’s be lovers,
not alone.
Hold your horses,
hold your guns.
Give me time,
or give me love.

Traps for Saps

There is a place on the shore of New Jersey.
Everyone has heard of it, it is called Atlantic City.
This is a place of yearlong activity.
Yes, this is a city nearly everyone knows.
I know you are very familiar with the casinos.
With offers in the mail, they draw you down the shore.
They entice you with comps and giveaways galore.
When they see you, they will gladly open the door.
They are only after your money, and then some more.
Casinos merely regard you as another gullible sap.
Each place is only a clip joint and a trap.
If you are considering a trip, then hold your horses.
The machines and tables will tap all your resources.
When your pockets are empty, then it is time to roam.
When you lose, it seems like a longer distance home.

THE DAY A BOY BECAME A MAN

Pacing up and down, finally I yell
are we ever going to do this?
yeah, yeah, hold your horses
I’m coming he screams…

eventually he appears
dressed in a black jeans
and white tight fitted shirt
with bulges in all the right places…

gob smacked, eyes wide,
mouth hanging open
uhm where did you say
we’re going again?

to a friend’s birthday party he says
err, so you’re going dressed like that? I ask
finding it difficult to close my mouth, still in shock…
Yep he say’s while grabbing the car keys,
as he makes his way to the door…

but you never dressed like this before
why now? I asked while running after him
the view from behind is even better
I have a sudden urge to touch his bum
half distracted I almost walk into him..

why not? Is his retort as he opens
the car door for me…
I feel tempted to touch him in a non buddy way…
Uhm do you think I’m overdress? I ask
While fluttering my eyelashes …
nah you look stunning, he says
as he pulls out of the driveway…

still unsure what to make of the man next to me
he seems like a stranger
when did I lose my best friend?

My eyes has finally opened
my best buddy has grown up,
he became a man,
a hot blooded male at that…

what is a girl to do?
pretend not to notice
or make a play for him
before we hit the party,
before the vultures come out to play….

The Fate of a Princess - The Great Act

"Um... I... you see.... um... I." What exactly was Princess Layla supposed to say? The thing is, I kept dreaming about this boy who seems to be in a strange place and somehow I fell in love with him. I was supposed to marry King Sunjong but I couldn't bare the thought of being with another man. I ran away at the first chance I got. While I wandered the country, I heard about a woman referred to as The Lady of the Gods who could grant any wish. Please help me meet my love! I beseech you! No! No! Princess Layla definitely could not say that. If she did, the woman would lock up her up believing the princess was mad.

"You desire to be reunited with your lover?" Said The Lady of the Gods, as she solemnly seeped the bitter concoction.

How did she know? Can she read my mind?

"Are you reading my mind?" Princess Layla asked in a whisper though they were the only ones in the room.

"I can do no such thing."

"But... then... how?"

"Your fate is truly unfortunate. Yue-Lao, God of Love, bound you to that boy who lives in a different time."

"What are you talking about? Say something that makes sense", said Princess Layla furiously. But even as she said all that, she understood. Her love was doomed. Everything she had done was pointless. She was left alone in this world and it was all her fault. By now, everyone she had known had been sentenced to death by the king and it was all her fault.

"Quit your crying. What a disgrace you have turned out. See what your great love that was worthy of throwing away your own parents, leaving them for dead, has got you. If it was in my power, I would not help you."

"What? Are you saying there is a way? So, everything isn't hopeless. Tell me, what must I do?" The Princess's spirit was revived. She just held onto that glimmer of hope her last words had promised.

"Hold your horses. Do you not feel any shame? How can you be so happy?"

"Lady, listen: It's none of your business", Said Princess Layla getting impatient.

"Then, I guess my service is no longer of great necessity to you?" The Princess immediately went on her knees which caught the woman's attention since it was considered great disgrace to bow to someone of a lower rank. However, The Lady of the Gods made no effort to help the princess up. Princess Layla was left to put on a theatrical show. She first pinched herself to make her eyes teary and went on to make a grand speech worthy of a standing ovation.

Autumnal Pride

'Oh do move on, Summer - it's time for a change
I've so many seasonal chores to arrange!
Whilst you, my dear sister can laze in the sun,
For me there are serious tasks to be done.
I have to ensure that the hedgehogs remember
To stock up on food at the start of September.
Then trigger celestial cues as causation
For swallows' onset of long distance migration.
Blithe, frolicking squirrels must forfeit their play
To stash bereted nuts for the next rainy day.

And whilst I remember, the trees need a shake;
A gentle reminder their leaves to forsake.
A new coat of paint is applied in a rush
And a kiss from my lips makes the blackberries blush.
I’ll crisp up the air and leave everything stark,
Ensuring that nippy Jack Frost makes his mark.
And tickle the prickles of sweet chestnut shells
Till, sides split with laughter, their treasure expels.
And last but not least, I've the pumpkins to swell
And harvest to gather, folk's hunger to quell.'

'Now please hold your horses, dear brother of mine.
Just take a deep breath and then all will be fine.
One thing you've left out in this frenzied oration;
We all play a role in the Master's creation.
So let’s work together and less of your squall,
Just maybe that’s why pride is linked to a fall!!'

Rolling Rhyme

Hold your horses,
use all your resources
and force your thoughts
to not follow the course
that stigma endorses.

I figure I was sent
to present a different
style that you think is rap,
but rap is spoken aloud and vocal,
it serves verses in urban slang verbal,
this isnt like any rap I've heard,
for a start I'm using dictionary words.

You think rap is ghettos, gangstas, gats and hoodies,
while poetry is cellos, mansions, top hats and pretty goodies,
and rap isnt poetry but poetry reads like rap,
but you know to me this flow needs a new name so stigma is detatched.

If I rapped this reactions would stick as I'd look as stupid as rats,
so dont call it rap 'cus rap wouldn't do that.
No not at all,
this style is based around the bouncing vowel,
a sound that's allowed anywhere anyway around.

So hold your thoughts
'cus this mould is ought
to be sold as ROLLING RHYME.

It sorts and then reveals it's skills caught
constant in roll like a wheel,
with words written real
and a free structure to its build.

It's rolling rhyme
told in rhyme
that strolls and holds in time
and does not fold or decline
only to rhyme at the end of the line.

The rows flow with ease
and it's easy to read
free flowing and blowing along like a breeze.

Rap rhythm isnt driven
by the way the words are written
'cus when rappers are spitting
pronunciation differs if you listen.

Rap ink revolves around slang
but you think of revolvers gangs and the bang bang,
this is poetry, you know it be,
it's rolling rhyme this style of mine.
