Best Ginger Poems
(Etheree 1)
Red
falling
petals of
sweet, scented hues
gently dripping, long,
slim green and yellow leaf
with softly painted flowers
her amazing beauty glowing
with devilish intrigue and wonder,
stunning, everlasting and infinite
(Etheree 2)
They call her, Ginger, with bright hair ablaze
around her beautiful neck like the
soft flowers blooming fragrantly
in bending clusters over
hanging limbs that end like
fingertips, so smooth.
She drinks in life
as she storms
through the
world.

even her name evoked colorful images
Ginger November, a student of mine
quiet girl with ebony hair
a blessing to teach till family troubles intervened
divorcing parents of a Catholic schoolgirl
Ginger tried to keep the burden hid
enduring much hardship
struggling to cope
mid-semester exams evoked fear
to avoid failure, students had to pass
no student could copy another’s work
four different tests I’d prepared
quietly, I patrolled each aisle
students barely knew I was there
from behind I approached Ginger’s desk
to find her checking notes in her sleeve
if I’d adhered to rules
Ginger would not have graduated
this thought I couldn’t bear
knowing her hardships at home
“You cannot get an A,” I said after class
“but return here after school”
at three p.m. she slowly entered
shame clouding the beauty of her face
a different version of the test I handed her
“If you pass, you’ll get a 70;
when averaged with your other grades,
you can still make a ‘C’”
this “A” student earned her “C”
but cried while retaking the test
other teachers might have let her fail
I thought she needed support
for Ginger I broke the rules
knowing the pain she carried
what I did was surely wrong
but a second chance I felt she deserved

For Chantelle Anne Cook's "Second Chances"
I love to find a bargain
As I search the New Year sales
I really could not live without
That pair of giant bright pink snails
I don’t know where I’ll put them
Everywhere is chock-a-block
But I know that I must have them
They’re reduced by such a lot
And over there
A rainbow chair
I have five more at home
But surely
I need just one more
To make a set
But can I get
The darn thing through my door
So I'd better get my skates on
For soon it will be gone
And then I see
The very thing
I’ve wanted all my life
I make a dash
I throw myself
With one almighty thrust
I am resolved to make it mine
Before her over there
A lady with bright ginger hair
I cannot let her have it
I push
I shove
I’m nearly there
Before her over there
A lady with bright ginger hair
For as I passed
I tripped her up
She fell upon her butt
Now she is down and out
I’ll reach it now
I have no doubt
For after all
its dog eat dog
Or words to that effect
And yet
I will return again
To be beguiled
To be enticed
With money off reductions
It's a bargain at the price
That something I can’t live without
At New Year sales
I’ll find no doubt…

Two tiny dots
on a vast landscape
wandering aimlessly
Ginger and John
Man and his cat
a long time together
on buses and freight trains
hither and yon
Jobs here and there
a few extra dollars
some milk and a hamburger
then down the road
Under the stars
sleeping in green fields
the kitty exploring
his grassy abode
Then came the day
John called for Ginger
but his little companion
never returned
The world cares not
for a lonely man's heartaches
what befell Ginger
John never learned
Mourning his friend
John wept so bitterly
searching once more
before he'd depart
One tiny dot
on a vast landscape
wandering aimlessly
broken in heart

My beautiful ginger haired goddess faerie
Thick curls down her back, floating against her
Dainty cellophane dragonfly faerie wings.
Translucent, alabaster skin rarely seen even in a glimpse.
My delicate ginger haired goddess faerie
Enjoying woodland's most endearing sunrise.
He is awed by her beautiful, enticing loveliness.
Unconcerned, she massages her dainty faerie toes.
My selfless ginger haired goddess faerie.
Took a silent dip among the lily pads this morning.
Not wanting to bother forest creatures in repose.
My gorgeous, sincere, beautiful ginger haired goddess faerie.
I watch from the shadows in awe,
Careful to not alert or frighten her.
Ginger bread man, run, run, run!
Christmas time is time for fun.
Bring some toys, come and play;
Make some noise this holiday.
Little children wait for you;
Snow man, make some few.
Ginger bread man, make some toys;
Give some gifts to girls and boys.

When I listen to the words of Ginger Baker
It dawns upon me
Not all Cream rises to the top
I sure wish someone would drum some sense into that old man
Is there not but one charitable Baker
To do us a favor and cook Ginger?
There once was a terrible whinger
Whose hair was incredibly ginger
No one liked him at all
So he ran off from school
And went out to train as a ninja
Walked her in the woods,
And on beaches; then crying,
We put her to sleep.
a delicious bit
the flavor of ginger bread
at Christmas
Oh! but the jealous thing She has eyes flaming green How to quench what hell spurns Where envy and mischief does burn Revenge on her lips she's an Irish queen
GINGERLY? - NOT GINGER!
Ginger used an array of colourful drugs,
And owed money to many cruel thugs,
She was a beautiful fresh fifeteen year old,
When her sad story began to unfold!
Ginger was at a party and got very drunk
Police raided it ,arrested the responsible punk!
By twenty she had become hooked
And arrested several times and booked!
During her short life, she had to often steal,
If she wanted to have the occasional meal!
She lived under a bridge at the bottom of town,
Lay on cardboard, covered by a ragged gown.
Filthy gangsters, relentless in their chase,
Kicked, beat, abused her and cut her face,
No matter her age all they wanted was money,
You got no money, then bang, bang honey!
Told you girl, no money, you owe, you die
You have made us angry now, don’t dare to cry!
Ginger had spirit, was desperate and bold,
The drug dealers were tired, sluggish and old!
She had had enough, made a quick dart and bolt
Knocked one out, but second one gave her a clout!
Ginger quite dazed and bewildered, ran into the street,
Where she got lost, as she mingled with many feet!
She made herself a promise that never again,
Would she touch drugs, they brought much pain.
A kind young man noticed and helped her escape,
Threw round her naked, fragile body a drape.
At her twenty first party, the following year,
She got engaged to this young man, so dear
She never again looked or took any drugs,
Said farewell to her sad life, and detestable thugs!
Sweet, yummy treats
Melt into my mouth so fast!
Taste buds dance in joy
These candies make my
Mouth water merrily! WOW!
Who made these sweethearts?
Sugary candy
Is not nearly as great as
These sugah mommas!
Reminding me of
Cherished childhood memories
I want some more, please?
As a bookmaker, Sam Rothstein was the best.
The big bosses back home sent him out west.
Because of his amazing sports betting prowess,
they put him in charge of a casino in Las Vegas.
He was joined by his boyhood friend Nicky Santoro.
Nicky was Sam’s strong arm bodyguard wherever he would go.
Sam and Nicky were given such a sweet deal.
However, Sam had an emotional Achilles heel.
Street walking hustler Ginger entered into Sam‘s life.
Shortly after, Ginger became Sam’s wife.
Ginger would soon make Sam’s life a living hell.
As a mob kingpin, Nicky did his job well.
Throughout Vegas, he would cheat, steal, and kill.
Everything went out of control and straight downhill.
Sam and Nicky had a swift fall from glory.
Do you want to know the rest of the story?
That’s all the description you will get from me.
The movie is available on BluRay and DVD.
Based on the 1995 film “Casino”.
When I stand in the woods amidst the trees
My vibrant head ablaze with copper red
They come to me, I am one with the bees
Circled by buzzing right down to my knees
Here for my genes not ones made of thread
When I stand in the woods amidst the trees
Bursting with self produced vitamin D's
Thinking perhaps I am flower instead
They come to me, I am one with the bees
In the grace if the forests wistful breeze
I bumble along to where they've been led
When I stand in the woods amidst the trees
Slowly I crouch down to leaves where I freeze
Striped black and yellow, I'm still in their stead
They come to me, I am one with the bees
Truly no times more uplifting than these
Drawn to strand petals atop my red head
When I stand in the woods amidst the trees
They come to me, I am one with the bees
I read bees are attracted to redheads, possibly think they are a flower. A nice thought...
