The First of Many Smiles

Robins sing joyfully to the morning sun,

hidden behind the pale white summer flowers,

up in that old basswood tree out back

Splish splash splish

 sounds of the sprinkler

water the now lush green grass

smells of freshly popped popcorn

fragrantly blow in the warm west wind

reminding me that today is the farmer's market.

I head on over and I'm instantly overwhelmed

by vibrant deep red vine-ripe tomatoes

an abundance of yellow and white bi-color corn

bright bushels of green sweet peepers,

(I'm definitely stuffing some tonight).

there are dark purple plums

Macintosh and Granny Smith apples

and my favorite,

delicious, mouth watering, succulent peaches.

That's when I see her

her long dark hazel hair

brushing her exposed smooth shoulder

standing right there

picking out that perfect peach

I sidle up and ask her how she knows

how she knows which one is ripe

she grabs my hand ( I nearly faint)

and shows me how to grip one

squeezing just right

not too soft

not to tight

flirting and exploring

laughing and enjoying

 the first of many smiles

lasting throughout that night

Raspberry Kisses

Silent kisses throughout the air.
Just like the wild raspberry affair.

Nowhere to know how,
Can they be found!
Now they are here,
Only to me you appear,
Fragrantly simple and sweet,
From your head to your feet,

Melts-in-your-mouth, easy to eat!

With an imperceptible sharp overtone,
Your lip texture finer than a rose,
A kiss, so edible it carries its own light juicy moan.

Delicious, I want to own them with an unlimited supply.
The greatest refined assortments, of every flavor of berry divine.

Delicately designed with a deep inner core,
"Cumulative kisses," wait to be explored.
Small cascading pods, contain the best forever after taste.
Exceeding saliva fills the hollow root in my cavity base.

Walking with kisses, which belong to the sun?
Your berry-fine sensation, lips of relaxation invade the method in my meditation.
The inner peace of you, lands in the most tranquil way.
My buds taste and hide this kissing quality; I won’t share nor display.

I desire this episode will full flavor ahead.
Transforming the imaginary form, from zero; till there is none.
The perfect persuasive peck of all picks.
Harvesting the ripest mental bliss only for my lips!

Berry-Mastery.
I belong to you.

Premium Member A Picnic With Pablo Neruda

Four legs quiver
like clumsy cabrioles
striking smooth gray rivers
of zig-zag sidewalk barrios
in rhythm with happy shivers
syncopated on a muffled drum
as we talk and stroll

On our way
hand-in-hand
we persuade and pretend
this day away
taunting and cajoling to demand
laughing “hide and seeking”
chasing and skedaddling
poking and peeking
like cuddly pandas
or canoodling otters
splashing and clambering

We roll and meander
impetuously twiddling all the way
atop gregarious green promenades
we pause in slight delay
as we prattle and prance
as we dance to the Crickets singing
nodding to their fiddling
frolicking with all the jiggling

Serendipitous stalks
of snickering flowers pop
to dazzle and razzle our wits
we glide in stripes of candy bits
of rainbows bright

Purple painted paisley
fragrantly flairs in pairs
of scented lavender sweetness
among black-eyed daisies
dusting the woozy air
in a meadow’s billowing bloom
sunflowers sunbathe in costume

We giddily tarry
as we carry
a feast of fancies and treats
artsy bits of charmed delicacies
filled with a peck of upcoming kisses
enticing fantasies that wink

Snuggling shenanigans lead us astray
as we find our rootie-tootie hideaway
hugs as we shy away
from tomfoolery jesting
to lay down and swoon
looking up at the soon to be stars
lingering for the coming of the moon

Murmurs of Starlings
gaggle their harmonies
of chirps
in cheeks and broadened beaks
thrumming tiny melodies.

Swallows sweep and woo
fixated on this unabashed swain
through songbird strains
announcing a shrilling review
broadening in sweet refrains

“I love you…I love you”

Fingerpainting the Monet sky
puffy white cotton words appear
from clouds passing by
while tiny violins spin in the air
piccolos peep
pigeon-toed Doves coo and weep
their contentedness to appease
trailing off the pleasant breeze

I fall upon my knees

My words explode to strew
like a thousand storms set free

“I love you…I love you…I love you”

Their Queen Pheromones

"Their Queen Pheromones"

Nectar
attracts

foraging
honey bees
with components
of their
Queen Pheromones

the butterflies beckon
their inner wasps
to sup on clover
four leafed, beds of velvet
green virgins unseen

herein slumbers
far too gone
to lie in wait
love expells
from his fevered pate

the crown of Lysander

fragrantly torrid
oriental orchids
for the hidden deep pink
in those errant
loose lusty forget-me-nots
whispering in the naked ones

those of deeper blue hues
thorny bent over, then
faces to the sun
long dark night violate blooms
those blushing black roses

supine against a lux body
of moist work
pushing lust and love
hard as a rock
in the fertile mind of
the luscious Lillith garden

no socks.

"I'm a fountain of blood
In the shape of a girl
You're the bird on the brim
Hypnotised by the whirl
Drink me, make me feel real
Wet your beak in the stream
Game we're playing is life
Love's a two-way dream “

"I'm a path of cinders
Burning under your feet
You're the one who walks me
I'm your one-way street”

"I'm a tree that grows hearts
One for each that you take
You're the intruder's hand
I'm the branch that you break”

Two
candles
melt away
fragrantly as
twin flames above them
mirror one another
in a bright dance of passion.
The wax bodies fade away, but
love’s scent beautifully lingers as
the steadfast flames burn slowly down to die.

Premium Member A Cup of Tea

Just one cup in the morning; no added flavor
Ceylon tea or Assamese is my preference
Each drip and each sip I so favor and savor
Betwixt too light and too strong. This makes difference

Its red-black-orange mixture I fondly adore
My chocolate face waves betwixt its white-ash smoke
There's a fragrantly sumptuous taste in its core
To sip this nectar with me join a few townsfolk

It's poured into my cup in a hundred-degree
I start sipping. It does not hurt my lips or tongue
The process goes on till I, finally, could see
Not a tinge is left, and I feel extremely young

A cup of hot black tea is the day's protector
Can't I compare it with the heavenly nectar...?

Pollution Solution

Smaltz loved limburger cheese with passion
A fact that turned co-workers’ noses ashen.
The stench made ill all near his breath
Notes on his locker hinted at death.
Smaltz now finds cheddar fragrantly in fashion.

Premium Member Flying With the Wind

Over the sea galloping upon waves
in the swift uplifting rush of the tide
Chariots of fire blush red the rose swept up
by the whirlwind holding a breathless whisper

Upon these foundations the rock stands
sings out one bird of valuable beauty
sweet music echoing deeply
through the voice of a Heavenly choir

Oh gracious gemstone
you are the fruit of loves light
who pierces the deepest crevices
of one's mind

In a castle of dreams
fringed with gold
bring me a bow
of burning incense

Fragrantly it blossoms in the mind
Consuming divine fire
I come and bow down
to your Heavenly being

A Country Charm

Driving down a dirt road one day
I noticed an old home sitting alone
and laying to waste.

I stopped at the front of the old place
and noticed the old home had a worn
but once loved look, upon its face.

In the corner of the old country farm
stood a crooked, laced gate full of
lovely, early 19th century charm.

It whispers to me of the years gone by.
Standing there alone waiting for some
one to love it again, brought tears to my
eyes.

Upon the gate sweet confederate jasmine
grew and it so fragrantly filled the air.
The wind so gently blew the smell around
the farm with loving care.

Old tattered curtains still covered the windows
lonesome square. My heart could do nothing
but at them with wonder stare.

So many memories this old farm holds,
It seems to so eagerly be asking for its
stories to be told.

I gathered a basket from inside of my car
and began to clean up the old gate that
to me, held so much charm.

The smell of sweet jasmine touched my soul
and when it was time to leave, it gave me
the feeling of belonging and home.

What a treat this old place with me shared,
because for a moment someone cared.
In those few moments spent, a lifetime of
memories with me it lent.

I think I will come back again someday soon
and from it lift, its lonely gloom.

A Puppy's Cry

Irene went for her usual morning walk around six;
the August breeze was dry and fragrantly crisp,
one could tell she was injured as her aching hips
made her miss a step as she bit on her weathered lips.

Not far from her stone cottage, there was a cave never hit by sun rays,
it was hidden from sight by shrubs and weeds that almost
covered her cavity and at nighttime it seemed a ghost;
wasn't it the refuge of persecuted Christians when Celts were pagans?

The streets were very narrow and cracked cobblestones
made her slow down...using caution could have prevented a serious sprain;
an athlete is known for strength and endurance and she fought pain
by looking down and running downhill towards the treeless hills.

Irene had two wonderful kids: one was a gorgeous boy and the other a pretty girl,
and they both had hair as golden wheat and eyes as the wild Irish Sea;
and whispering to herself, " I will miss my walks in the Fall with Kelly and Bill...
and after the baby is born, wouldn't I stare out of the window with melancholy?"

While pondering that thought, she heard a puppy's cry coming out of the dark cave
that gave her goosebumps and searching carefully she saw the pitiless animal
struggling on three legs, but the fourth leg was badly injured or broken by the fall;
rapidly she grabbed the long rope and started her descend as a coffin into a grave.

Helen hit the ground hard and that startled the poor puppy laying on a plate of chrome,
" You are safe with me and because I've found you in this cave, I'm going
to name you Cavy, lucky pooch! This bad accident was a turning point for you!"
And he barked for approval, being happy to have survived and found a new home.

Asides Within a Last Breath

Three lying deacons
swim in a handbag -
and a lone, celibate pastor
paces longingly bemused.
Michael, the Arc Angel,
poses silently,
in dusty Gabbana drag,
cursing the lipstick-painted laymen
writhing in rancid attar -
naked
and intentionally
unused.

Four wide-eyed boys
dance on a daydream –
kissing ripped posters
of a white collared rapist.
Saint Peter understands
the jovial jokesters -
the foolishness
when blackened specks darken the void;
the flurried flutter of his eyelids
casts a tainted shadow
upon a fractured sexual ballet.
They continue to kiss
below the waist.

Three lying deacons
and a pacing pastor resides –
five lip-smacking nurses
massaging your head.
Four wide-eyed boys
caress your knuckles
as the well-trimmed priest
pronounces
a poorly
scented infant:
"anally dead."

Seven cardinal sins
slip and divide
into 3 venial ratios.
"Hi, Sonny"...
Greed, lust and vanity
are mortal crimes;
Father Fragrantly Fresh...
quietly proclaims:
"snuggle a bit closer and
sniff a hint of Genesis."

Say I’m to blame
and cause-count the afflictions –
smaller undetected lumps
hump the jaded addictions
brain dead and haughty –
the zombies
circle and laugh!
I wasn't born in a dark discarded
Parisian tunnel but -
can you Roman Polanski me,
please?

Kill the poet...
and make him pay -
below the waist.
Crushed words embody
a forgotten loner’s
epitaph!

(force him to stutter stupidly)

and within a last breath -

and within a last breath -

and within a last breath -

GOD...

"the string-strangled
puppet
conventionally chokes -
and quietly succumbs
(to a textured landscape)
of a youthful
silenced dying...

...swaddled
and swallowed
in a heavenly -
haloed chosen
death..."

My Alyssum

Through beads of hope I gaze
elegant strong and brave
with greens and diamond blues a mast
off her petals pearlescent dew drops lie
fragrantly guiding a watchful eye

Honeybee yellow stings of fate
absorbing every ray of baby's breath
harmoniously humming
in a wholesome milieu
shifting boundaries cast away drear
