Best Deepened Poems
I must have encountered her on a hill,
Where scatterings of ferns deepened
Through insolent winds that shivered
While watching her carry a basket of daisies…
She is Loveliness, forlorn in a drowsy pathway,
More forlorn than languid endings
Or all that death can ever reach.
By trying to alienate myself from this image
A weariness brushed on a Dresden face so pale
That the luster in her eyes became stardust ,
While I designed a self-tumbling act as a ploy
To gaze at her closer , oh one divine mystery.
Just there, etches of beauty flatter her hair,
Like a dream capricious as twilight leaving
And in her almond eyes, the moon-flakes glimmer
How by chance, this silhouette found me breathless,
That I did gravitate through her bloom, weakening--
She, an air between death and forever… Loveliness on a hill.

Out in the middle of a large farmland, I become a girl of old charm and unexpected songs again. Past the flanks where cluttered rows of hyacinths and ferns quiver, disarranged huts begin to shake as the rough wind wheezes. And on this late July, mounds of dust remind me of summers back in my grandfather’s hometown. Yet, a different vanishing overtakes me.
a season passes…
carrying all its flowers
to emerge as buds
Watching for thrushes that grow moist from dusky froth , my heels trek along deepened clay. As I lay on haystacks listening to stars chiming, the inky moon sinks its riddled face through a veil. Somehow, I feel alone...abandoned like the opera of a heart which seems to fall into a tragic ending. Yes, Grandpa isn’t around any longer, as a eulogy of tears swells.
on this barren field…
a solitary twig cracks
from one glittered tree
The nightfall drools looking for the yellow among clouds. For a while, the hazy outlines of strangers--native women and children ---disturb my old revelries when Grandpa would linger by the porch dipping tunes from his violin. Through calm intervals of laughter, we sway together; fire to air, salt to honey. Much as I need to inhabit this space, it no longer belongs to me, or to him. But twilight comes brimming with all the glistened jewels of our own world.
between two lifetimes
is a haunting melody…
like a song unsung

REAPING AND RELISHING SAPODILLA PLUMS
Reaching out towards freshness all ripened,
Holding onto huge branches hovering high,
Not bothered about tan getting deepened,
I hand pluck lush naseberries straight from the sky;
Savouring sweetness with a satisfied sigh.

Midnight hangs in deepened revelation
as the cry of elegy flows within its waiting,
hazy tears burst to deny sleep’s interval
when baby - lullabies end all pleasant leisure;
and a mother sighs from vague acceptance
enacting the glee that cradles her child’s form.
Dusk engulfs in soft hue of threadbare beam
while the weary world rests in peace
that droopy stars bow to a grief, an ache
lingering: O her words break like shattered glass…
where that shift between hesitation and mourning,
pale moonlight releases its role of night guardian.
The birds become her voice of parting
for their coos recall a babe ‘s laughter, g o n e,
D.o.n.e … how silence welcomes again
the requiem of another night coming.

Dramatic Verse
A tender smile, a fleeting glance,
Eyes that meet to touch the soul,
A beating heart, a breathless breath,
A deepened sense of something whole.
A need to please and give of self,
To share all things of mind and heart
With openness and sweet surrender,
And of the whole become a part.
A touch of closeness and of warmth,
The radiance of inner glow,
Bathe in light- an endless aura,
A current charged with- endless flow.
To feel another's joy and pain,
Two beating hearts, as one, to care.
And of the thoughts, that words can't speak,
Two open souls, in silence, share.
To speak of love through word and song
Is at its best, mere child’s play,
In contrast to the silent prose
That heart and soul, through love, convey.

HIS ROSE, HER DEATH
All she had wanted was a red, red rose,
That would quell the love of that handsome man,
Alas! The rose tree was in winter's throes,
Unable to birth a rose of her plan;
So she said she will sing the whole night long,
With her heart against the thorn of that tree,
"Love is greater than life", rang out her song,
As her life blood fashioned his love ruby;
Yet, when her heart burst out in pain thereof,
When the crimson petals slowly opened,
He was not there to see her die for love,
Nor did he feel that love with blood deepened;
"Trust me baby, this is love," her last breath,
He never found out his rose was her death.

A tender smile, a fleeting glance
Eyes that meet to touch the soul
Missed beats of hearts and minds, in trance
A deepened sense of something whole
To feel that urge, beyond control
To share all things of mind and heart
Bring warmth and comfort to the soul
And of the whole, become a part
Within each aura’s brilliant glow
A touch of closeness, heartfelt rays
Spring surge of passions that bestow
Warm radiance of inner blaze
Strong flowing currents charged with fire
Bathe in the light of endless glow
That fan, and feed true love’s desire
A current sparked with- constant flow
Surrender fear, lay each soul bare
Two beating hearts, as one, to care
And bond as one love to declare
Two open souls, in silence, share

On a harbor of restless shore
she scans across the deepened waves,
to end pain’s grim just like before...
as necklace breaks, in chilled farewell.
By edge of evening, time races
with hope to drown in circling tides.
Not a chance to hold stars’ graces,
a wish tangled in poverty.
Big dipper heeds her whimper, faint
as dazzling light soaks in blue sea.
Until her child harks ,” Mom, have faith;
I'm here with you, through love’s glory.”
By questioning the bleak of life
her truth alights, now out of strife.

The whole sky is white
No blueness is showing
Snowflakes are falling
Spreading to the ground
Bare trees are coated
With the warmth of snow
Bushes are covered
With patches of snow
The Evergreen trees
Decorated wit whiteness
The wooden fences
Look brighter with snow
Sidewalks are deepened
As the snow falling
The streets packed with snow
Time for the snow plough

Narrative
My being rises beyond hills or feathers gliding
deepened by silence immense,
where in peak of light anointed
through soul union--
the grail of non- resistance widens
Beyong boundless path,
a haloed center drifting on
A meditative space unmapped by this world:
I am at risk of a swarming flight into nothingness
shapeless, changeless: there is no finality
into this final release, only a blaze of discernment,
greeting the god within...that in the absence
of the. mind's overtures ,
an inner sanctuary divine wraps me quiet...
while I become nothing but whole.
This sitting takes me to an attic of raw light
bestowing foams of quiet glow for travelers
unyielding to a precise compass
of direction, a spaceless space nourished as it
were, losing the self to Bodhi-like clouds
and nomadic lotus spreads. I release this soul
buried in the kundalini to a congregation
of ambient tunes saying nothing,
taking flight unto a hymn of
unknown obedience moved by elemental
balance: no more weight or cities divided,
united by forms of one, one core.
My malleable flesh dissolves into tiny
breaths; it comes and leaves with
floating grace ascending the next chi ,
as I go deep, deeper… high, higher
centering second, fourth, seventh chakra
until this my body- mind- spirit marries
in a ceremony of calm traversing zones
unnamed by time, one with all senses,
bliss or regrets… the airiness of journeying
through this unshaped season fed by something
unbidden in my life so blessed.
I step outside my body, somewhere…
without a trace that realms chop my head,
searching for a mantra of stars… stillness fed.
* chi – life energy
* kundalini--a force which ordinarily
rests at the base of the spine.
*chakras-major centers of spiritual power

MINDFUL OF SOLAR ECLIPSE
He’s coming with his dark glasses
and dizzying smile
He’s stopping by for a minute or two
a minuet of manic joy
He covers the sun with his steady hand
she tingles with trepidation
Will she be blotted out from his employ
she wipes off sweat as he passes by
Merely a warning of end times
dark days of deepened sin
We watch with amusement
arm in arm on love boats
Standing in main line parks
finding the perfect spot
Would we find the perfect standing of our heart
a bond with the patient perfect God
When the cross covered the earth in darkness
men of old took note
When the stone rolled away from the sun
the eclipse was eradicated
Emblematic pain or joy of your soul
gaze up with future foretold

As flames of summer’s infatuations wane, a new love,
Unheralded yet undaunted, arrives,
Transforming and maturing until, like trees windblown, though
Unclothed and trembling at winter’s onset, remains
Moored in a strength of devotion which does
Not burn out like summer’s lust.
Love in autumn, mellowed,
Overspreads. . . and though the deepened russet and
Vermilion hues of fall eventually are touched by frost, its
Essence will ever endure.

We haven’t been formally acquainted
Though your words now travel in me
A picture of harmony you’ve painted
Love truest, in the very highest degree
Trouble in the midst, but don’t stress
Look into the windows of the soul
Therein you’ll find your happiness
Where two parts become a whole
Partake of this newfound pleasure
Two rivers now flowing into one
The joy contained has no measure
Warmth radiating like rays of sun
On this road of destiny or now call it fate
To encounter true love, it’s never too late

Aware; instincts suffused
A feeling I've known
Complete; never diffused
Before birth twas sown
Before planets aligned
time had bound our hearts
Moulded, deepened, refined
Fused; no end no start
Evolved beyond lifetimes
Years measured in blinks
Eons blending nightimes
Eternity shrinks
Others wanting taboo
answers to life's "why's"
Myself? Without question
...it lay in your eyes
