Best Confess Poems
I confess...
I can't see You any better than I did yesterday,
God are you there, in those clouds that are in the way
...
If I'm here and You're there, what is that distance
between us that seems to grow larger everyday
starving man in the desert I am
wandering to somewhere I don't know
and can't find and don't want
but now I'm heading there and don't want to go.
Please find me, God, draw near to me again
despite of my falling behind
I need You more than ever, and am less
than ready to admit it in my mind
...
I'd be very grateful, beyond all, if
if You could meet with me today
Q: "How can I be saved?"
A: "Belief on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and you will become saved."
Q: "How can I realize I am saved?"
A: "It shall come to pass that in the
last days all of those who call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Q: "How can I ask God to forgive me
of my sins?"
A: "If you are willing to asks God to honestly
forgive your sins, he will forgive them."
"If you confess with your mouth and believe
in your heart that God has raised him from
the dead you will be saved. And you will
really be able to confess your sins."
Q: "Do I have to be willing to forgive other people?"
A: "And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."
Q: "What if I am in an abusive relationship?"
A: "Get out of the abusive relationship and turn your
abuser over to the proper authorities. Your life may be
in jeopardy, and so you should seek sanctuary. Forgiving
some one doesn't mean you should continue to let them
harm you or your loved ones."
Q: "What about habitual sins especially those over an extended
period of time?"
A: "If you confess your sins He is willing to forgive you your sins
even to them who believe on his name." "You rely upon his powerful
strength instead of your own. But don't play games with God, be
honest and sincere about them."
Q: "What about any addictive habits or substance abuse problems?"
A: "Those are sins that are covered by the redemptive blood of Jesus
Christ. Ask and believe you will be set free from your addictions!
Love in Christ Jesus!

I confess, I do,
I want to speak truth
poems you may read
are meant more for me
then they are for you;
if the flow of words
these random phrases
fail expectations
I'm sorry, I'm not,
that's just how it is,
this poet that is me.

Something I Am Not

I will wash the feet of my enemy
I'll eat the dainties of the flower leaves
I will kiss the bright of the Sun
I will sit amongst the branches of the trees
it comes to me
life is only begun
like the northern breeze
forgivenessit comes to me

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2020
Strangely, I have nothing to confess,
Oh, perhaps when I was younger,
When the temper of an alcoholic father
Left me cowering in the shadows;
Safe when he did not see me,
Safe when Mom intercepted the anger ~
But that was long ago
And childhood has faded
Into anecdotes of bizarre incidents,
Which oddly are simply amusing
Now that fear is far away.
When I was just seven, so small
My best friend Jacob, outdid us all
He had a pet Cobra, cool as could be
He forgot to feed it for a whole week you see
So I killed him
When I was fourteen, I went to the zoo
So many animals, all lounging around
Some seemed starved and some seemed week
One poor zebra died right on its feet
So I killed a Zookeeper
When I was twenty one I met a young blonde
We dated and loved and times where great
Her pet Collie so youthful with such playful traits
She left him in the car, the heat at one hundred and eight
So I killed my girlfriend
I am older now, a full mature twenty eight
My neighbor Miss Jennings has a cat we call him Mate
He loves all the felines all over the town
Till Miss Jennings had him neutered the Mate is down
So I killed Miss Jennings
Now I am thirty five and working so hard
At the animal shelter as the night guard
They bring in the wounded, the week and defenseless
All these humans who treat pets with out any senses
So I killed few strangers who mistreated pets
I am forty-two and work for the park
Where they come every day walking their pets after dark
In leashes so tight and bound round the neck
How is the good? Oh what the heck
So I killed all of them too
Now I am forty nine and in county jail
For some serial crimes they accuse me of committing
All I did was love animals, who are they kidding?
I am the hero in this story you all must see?
So I escaped and killed the jailor and now I am free
I have read the local papers; I am on the front page
They want to put me in a prison cage
Oh and there is PETA, who claim me as Saint
I am so proud why I might almost faint
But I kill myself as my final act
To be with the animals I loved till the last
The ornate church door creaked as I entered
My eyes soon became accustomed to the dusky light
Candles flickered, their shadows dancing on the walls
I knelt down at one of the heavily polished pews
It was many many years since I had been to this church
My hands clutched my string of rosary beads -
I’d had them since my first communion
Folding my hands I began to pray
Finally after a few minutes I opened my eyes
In the corner of the church I could see the confession booth
Suddenly the door sprang open
A wizened old man emerged; he was bent over with age
But even after all these years I recognised him
Those eyes that bored into my very soul
The abuse had started when I was in the choir
My life had been ruined from such an early age
As a teenager I went off the rails
Drink, drugs, anything to try and kill the pain
Spent years in and out of prison
Now I was finally free
Father I asked, do you have a moment to hear my confession
He turned round slowly and hobbled back into the confession booth
I followed him and sat down on the scarlet velvet cushion
He opened the little grille between the two booths
Forgive me father for I have sinned
I killed a man and beg your forgiveness
When did this happen my child…
It was then I pulled the trigger

I want to confess as I have committed a sin,
Sitting idly in my emotional incapacities
Conscious that this is only television screen.
I see people being butchered like flies therein
Women being gang-raped in large degrees
I want to confess as I have committed a sin.
The school kids getting burnt alive within,
Due to the negligence causing short circuits,
Conscious that this is only television screen.
With mere curiosity I watch each of the scenes,
I want to cry, get angry but can’t, my apologies!
I want to confess as I have committed a sin
I am taught not to dwell long on any scene,
As I can view next day’s batch of goodies
Conscious that this is only television screen.
All of my emotions whirled into the screen
Getting a call for hangout from my buddies.
I want to confess as I have committed a sin
Conscious that this is only television screen.

I am compelled to aver
there is no control

For my habit there is no known cure
I’m addicted; yes I’m certain, I’m sure
I’ve had this issue for over seven years
I’m in a happy place there are no tears
I’ll grab my fix any time night or day
It needles hubby, but it’s here to stay
Many people have offered me good advice
Helping me cope with comments so nice
I’ve tried to stop, but can’t go cold turkey
Because my addiction's writing poetry!
*Poetic licence as my husband is very supportive of my writing

-Love left nothing to confess-
On two worn crutches
Our love wobbles in
See her heart how cold she trembles
Wheelchair romance lying unassembled
The problems came when nothing said
Comes home at night and lies in bed
Paranoia hates those wrong assumptions
Until the talking two
Became the talking at
In.mid air floats a hanging question
A loving pair that craved destruction?
A ping pong game ignoring all
Enticed by a pale hipnotic ball
Falls to find no safety net
Falls to Earth like a Messerschmidt
Take pity on this broken amputee
How youve hammered and youve sickled me
Sad to see how hard she also tried
A coiled up spring never letting up
And giving up surrendering
Love left nothing to confess
And having left nothing, no forwarding address
Dare I, Own Up And Confess
Whispering shadows floating in the dark
Sound of laments ringing in their wake
Biting with wicked teeth so like a shark
seeking one lost and lonely soul to take!
Alarm clock wakes me from such a dream
yet bloodstains are at foot of the bed
How silly! All was not as it did seem
nightmares rage inside my old, aching head!
Rising to race quickly to the cold shower
stepped in a slippery, soft and warm mess
Blood on my feet, shows dreams have power
now the police demand I own up and confess!
Waking! My ankles shackled to these bars
Got a feeling, this dream going to leave scars!

Note. A dark sonnet for a change.
Would you call me stupid?
Would you call me crazy?
All these thoughts I have at the back of my head
Deep down I thought I had found
Peace of mind,
Serenity and companionship
My ride or die,
Probably a relationship
It was just a sinking ship
I think I fell for you.
The long chats? Yes, they fooled me
I'd literally day dream about you
Thought you'd invest in us.
Wait, there was no us??.
So why did I fuss?
If my feelings for you were just a puff and pass?
Someone throw me under a bus.
Confessions, confessions.
Yes I did love you,
Yes I did care,
Yes I thought you were "mine''.
But it's fine,
No more rides
Time to let go of this disguise,
I tried to hide
Our hearts I wanted to bind
But love is blind.
I think of you every single moment,
Your perfect lips?
Like an ornament...
Your hard fists?
Prepared to fight at tournaments
Your eyes?
Made to pierce my heart
Your nose?
Right under it is that soft voice of a serpent.
Right now I wanna bury you alive,
But how will I survive?
You were my Jack,
I was meant to be the Jill
And not her.
We were meant to be the next Romeo and Juliet,
A tight ass strong duet.
My bottle of Moet
My Chardonnay
Give me a chance to confess.
I love you but I can't have you
I can touch you but I can't hold you
I can make you laugh but
I wanna be the owner of your smile
I sometimes look at people
like they must have two heads
The things they say, the things they do
retard is the best address
like idiots they complain, obnoxious
and they're rude...
...and they look at us like we are stupid
when thier own stupidness eludes...
Whilst driving approaching a pedestrian...
A man he waits to cross...
The idiot behind parps his horn,
and mouths to me hurry up!
Now the man that is crossing is
by no means a dwarf...
The idiot behind cant see...
But by now his mind has morphed...
So I lower my car window -
...and I give him the salute!
Sending him a very clear message...
what he can do with his little toot...
Lord, I confess a grievous thing,
That I have not been witnessing,
To You, Who are alive in glory,
But rather to a Bible story,
Told over and over so often that,
It's easy just to memorize,
And cut You down to my mind's size.
Oh, let it be no longer so,
That I should hinder such a flow,
Of all redeeming, strengthening Love,
Pouring down from up above,
Seeking vessels such as I,
To fill and flow with Heavenly peace,
Until love for this life shall cease,
And I shall count it gain to die,
to self, to pride, to reputation,
And live for You, my soul's salvation,
And I would love so much, dear Lord,
To share with others Your sweet Word,
Your promises to those who seek,
How on the earth You were so meek,
And humbled Yourself constantly,
So You could help all men to see,
Your love for all who want to be,
With You for all eternity.
