Premium Member Pirouetting On Cloud Banks

Dancing in space
Waltzing in the universe
Pirouetting on cloud banks
Aah yes
Come with me
Let’s dance together

Ancient flute notes echo
Amidst starshine and lost memories
I feel you there beside me
Peeking around planets
Your eyes seeking me out

Our fibers entwined
Through passion and loss
Our unspoken words
Spun like gold thread
Around our bleeding hearts

An inhale ~ a memory
Meeting you in the ocean
Immersing ourselves in blankets of mist and fog
Lavender foam adorned with turquoise sparkles
Glinting off wave tips

My nakedness enveloped
Salty tears
My mouth open
Searching for you

I walk through time
Through walls of water
The waves part
As I find my way
Inward
Onward

To the sacred place within
I feel the air ~ quiet now
My fingertips sense my surroundings
I smell your heartbeat

In darkness my palms touch yours
A vibration of heat
Of laughter
Of knowing
Of ancient memories
Coupling our souls
Forever

Premium Member Cloud Castles

As a girl, I imagined a place to be
Sprinkled in stardust, where grassy skies rotate
A pirate nymph, commanding the purple sea
Leaping unicorns across a rainbow gate
A lush kingdom of color and harmony
Of horizons unbroken, of dreams ornate
Now, I wander my glen of nostalgic wood
Rebuilding the cloud castles of my childhood.

Floating in the sky...
Changing patterns fill my eye...
What will you become?

Vagabond and wanderer...
Riding wind so high,
No matter where it blows.
You thumb your way to places
I have been and some I'll never know.

Chameleon...
Changing shape and color,
Hiding your identity,
Until you speak with beauty and power.
First, a turtle, moving slowly.
Crawling and paddling in peaceful grace.
Next, a shark swimming swiftly
Consuming those around you.
Finally a dinosaur...
Your neck and tail extended
So I will know your name...
Forgetting you're a cloud.

Vagabond and wanderer...
Just vapor in the air, traveling everywhere.
Marshmallow treat
So soft and sweet...
Then dirty and dark...you loudly speak.
Rain, thunder and lightening are your friends.
It's pleasant when your anger ends,
And rainbows arch to show me where you've been.

At night, your shadow hides the stars
And makes us wander where they are.
You choose to show selected few
The moon and stars...romantic you.

Sunrise...you meet the sun with colors of the day.
A canvas. A pleasant palette
Where light can play.
Sunset...you form a beautiful pillow
To gently catch the sun.
So rays may rest til morrow come.

Vagabond and wanderer...
Tomorrow let me see your face,
Another chance ...
To watch you dance...
Until you catch a ride...
Shift shape...
And hide.

The Loneliness of a Lost Cloud

God named me a straying cloud,
and by His perpetual wish I abide...
as the loneliest cloud floating on the earth's breeze.
I glance below and discover the yellow daffodils pride,
and fluttering they dance beneath the apple trees;
and as a sparrow I feel the bond.

My night visitation is more exciting than broad daylight,
I encounter many stars and make them my friends,
and they love shining on the Milky Way...
looking down on the lonely bay so bright;
and tossing their luminous heads, they brightly dance:
so happy they have come my way!

Even the ocean's waves join them in their play,
but their dance is better than theirs,
and at such wondrous sight I make verse...
being offered their warm company;
I am amazed by how they roll and still gazing away,
I do admire the spectacle that gladdens me.

So often, on my couch I gladly lie to rest,
but overwhelmed by empty or moody thoughts,
that splendid image flashes in the glow of the sunset;
my daffodils still wave and invite me to dance,
and I dance with them, making a happy sound...
not to feel the loneliness of a lost cloud.

Premium Member Once Is Enough

Oh for pity's sake put some clothes on,
the bracing air will steal your breath..
and I need you to stand and stay strong.

Cold comfort thrills from your chill touch
help me recall why I adore you so...

A chin of the ages rests on my shoulder in sweet affection,
two arms encircle my world in every direction.

Redtail hawk riding a thermal looks down..
what caught its gaze I wonder..

Will the day lend a hand through a pestering cloud,
or roll its eyes in thunder?

Such a fine firebrand you've stoked,
as I shave my face and call your bluff.,

Wishing the once would last forever..
though once was more than enough.

Premium Member Kiss My Cloud

So you say you want to sit on MY cloud.
The view, you say, is rainbows and bluebirds.
I understand you hate your polyester,
Dishwasher safe, blue light special cloud.
It is weak, sagging under the weight of your expectations.
It is no longer fluffy, no longer billowy, no longer white.
It is empty and dingy and flat. Like your soul.

You can't see the best part of my cloud because it is on the inside,
Where it is built from the sweat of a hundred strong women like me.
Where the walls glisten from the tears shed as others like yourself tried to steal our cloud's glory.
But like this cloud, though we look soft and billowy, we are steel, cursing forth our thunder and glaring bolts of lightning to protect ourselves and our own.

My cloud is high now, but it has had its lows.
Where were you when others avoided and mocked us as nothing more than valley fog?
When the view consisted of puddles of want and winds of despair?
Did you once offer me a seat on your cloud?
Did you give me a hand up? Or were you too busy looking down on me?

So excuse me if I block your sun, ruin your picnic, cancel your flight.
But I will never ignore you.
Come closer and I will whisper a message in your ear:
HEY, YOU, GET OFF OF MY CLOUD!!!!

King Mandalay!

Poet Destroyer, I want to tell you this
My heart is not ready to sing
I will always seal my love to you with a final kiss
So you can always feel you were once my everything

I am sorry I was too much for you on your lonely night
My ego is too strong for you to be with someone like me
Sorry, my heart beat will set you on cloud five away from the light
It's not you my love I need more dots to see

PD, It is not easy to feel overzealous
I became paranoid with this system that glistens
A friendship I destroyed by the thought that made me jealous
P.D., I don't think we could ever be friends I never did listens

My ways ruined the perfect expression of a perfect emotion
Once again what could have been a nurtured affection I ended
You will never again see the moon to my ocean
I will leave you now on cloud 5 hoping you don't feel offended

King Mandalay, you’re my love and will always be my desire
With an endless world of possibilities you will forever own my heart
My heart for you will always burn with an eternal fire
I place my hand on my broken heart to another lonely street

Never will my heart beat feel complete
You were such a gift I did not want to live without
Without you I will go back to my cloud 5 the abyss of delete
I gave you my heart to the fullest, now why so much doubt?

King Mandalay, you spin my head round and round
Like a kaleidoscope ever color will crash above
You dropped my heart from cloud 10 right into the ground
Our friendship connected our fate into a promise of broken love

The gravity between me and you was really true in my heart
My lost emotions will break my unity to survive
You are the devil who ripped out my best body part
My energy will dive back into cloud 5 where life in no longer alive

             CLOUD 5
       COLLABORATION

CLOUDY DAYS

[Verse 1]
Looked out my window this morning
Past the skyline, steel and gray
The Sears Tower used to mean something
Now it just blocks the day
They told me the tallest get the glory
But the view don’t change your name
My tie’s too tight, the coffee’s bitter
And I can’t outrun the shame

[Verse 2]
Took the “L” in, half-awake
Headphones on, just hearing air
Pressed my face against the window
Saw my life reflected there
Last weekend at the Bean downtown
I caught a glimpse of someone else
Don’t know if I imagined it
But for a second, I looked like myself

[Chorus]
Cloudy days, fluorescent glow
Feels like I’m here, but I don’t know
If I ever meant to come this far
Or if I just forgot to go
Cloudy days, and I don’t speak
Light above me, but it don’t reach
And if this is how the story ends
Then I’ve got to write something different

[Verse 3]
She’s on the train most every morning
Reading something old and worn
Looks like she still knows the seasons
Doesn’t bend to where she’s torn
I wonder if she wonders too
What we’re all trying not to say
Would she smile if I said hello?
Or just fade back into gray

[Bridge]
If you’re chasing taller ceilings
Make sure your heart still fits inside
I bought into the pretty pictures
Now I flinch at my own pride
They’ll clap for you in marble lobbies
But won’t stay when curtains fall
You might reach the top by morning
And still not feel there at all

[Verse 4]
I started writing just to feel it
Didn’t plan for it to rhyme
But something real leaks through the cracks
When you’ve been quiet for too much time
Maybe I’ll ask her for that coffee
Maybe I’ll just walk through the park
No headphones, no disguise
Let this silence be my start

[Final Chorus]
Cloudless days — they’re still a dream
But I don’t need to fake the scene
I’m not a title, not a chair
Just a name and breath and open air
Cloudy days still come and go
But I don’t fold the way I did before
If this is how the light gets in
Then maybe I was meant for more

Premium Member Each Passing Cloud

Aimlessly wander veiled memories of yore
Each passing cloud subtly brings to fore
Recalling regrets, where laments agonize,
Thinking of you, searching forsaken skies,
Muting spent emotions of anguished eyes.

O how we rejoiced in blissful sunny days
When dawns arose on glinted arc ablaze
As golden beams pierced shrouded haze
Defying onslaught of darkened malaise
Intent on blotting zealous romantic phase.

Recalling ardent dreams with you I stroll
Where gleam of your smile brightens soul
As allure of amorous past feelings cajole
Emanating from desires heartbeats extol
In language of passion yesteryears scroll.

Every cloud etches effigy of love gone awry
Yet, thunder of stygian vibes fiercely I defy,
For return of clear skies in your longing I vie
Denouncing certitude hosting forlorn sigh,
Remorseful of ego that callously bid goodbye.

Premium Member I Wish I Was a Fluffy Cloud

I wish I was a fluffy cloud,
Puffy, white, glittering, glorious, majestic, perfectly safe, appreciated, loved.
A fluffy, white cumulous, floating around without a concern in the world,
Floating past meadows, forests, mountains, floating over oceans, smelling the salt.
I would not have a care in the world, because I would be of the world.
I would float around silently, in peace, oblivious to the mean things that happen in houses,
Carefree, joyful, exuberant, respected, well-loved, admired, painted and photographed.
Children could lie on blankets, and marvel at my pretty lightness, my slow, methodical movements.
Teenagers could shut their eyes under my watch, knowing there is goodness somewhere.
Grandparents could look up and smile at me as they play outside games with their grandchildren.
It would be such a terrific ending to a great life. I wish I was a fluffy cloud.

Premium Member My Dress Is a Cloud of Red

I savor silence and my solitary dreams, my wanderings
and in my candlelit room, I withdraw
to my secret place and you
I have put on our wedding dance music
and I am travelling back, back in time with a sigh
I know what comes next and I want to weep with love
my dress is a cloud of red chiffon flowing, flowing
and you my darling, are in a black suit
soft the jazz music drifting in my meditation
did I put that music on or did it just come to me
you whisper in my ear, I love you, and I turn the page
back, back, I turn back the pages
we swirl onto the dance floor, twirling and dipping perfectly
and the red chiffon is beauty
kiss me my darling your whisper or is that the music
your strong arms hold me tightly, oh I remember
and we are spinning, spinning, spinning
then the music is loud like thunder, roaring
  and you are fading
      our hands slipping
          then our fingertips
              and still we are spinning
until you are gone and I am alone
yet the music goes on and on

and in my candlelit room, I take a deep breath . . .

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

Every cloud has a silver lining
in dark there's light no need to fear
                              if patience's kept living righteously
bad days become good luck dear

When Sun sets brings then dark
after passing time light comes again
it doesn't mean that light's forever
in life there's both happiness and pain

                                in despair hold conscience strong
think positive will happen very near
go ahead on with true courage
see everything bad has gone clear

Melding thoughts.. A guiding force;
Showed strength through sharing Ways,
drew spirit, from the great One, following the wind,
finding a hollow, gliding the currents stringing a bow,
Being close at hand for us, What more was there to know?
amid familiar scents of pines so fresh, taking for our needs enough,
To sustain the tribes, to be all; all we Ever should Want to know,
in this knowing to be as one!
