Notes About The Poem

The Weight of a Lethargic Cloud

gloom drags me into the blueness of
boredom since you've been gone
and i don't see how i'll ever snap out of it

Well... perhaps the answer to the blues is right in your poem: 'SNAP those fingers.' Perhaps, just as smiling actually makes you feel happier, snap can put some zip in your step. Light and Illumination, Gershon

"Gloom drags me into boredom". I'm sure many can relate. Falling into that lonely state, can certainly bring a mood down. Leave the heart feeling empty. You paint such tender and emotional moments, with your words. Congratulations Line, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

It is painful and there are those who can't "snap out of it". A friend told me that they hate that term, we shouldn't use it...it makes them feel guilty when they can't. if a physical disability, it would be the same way you can't snap out of a migraine, or clinical depression, but you said it beautifully! Love the painting...CONGRATULATIONS LINE GAUTHIER, ON POTD! I Am Anaya

I don't mean to make light of your situation, Line, but time...or so I'm told...often has a very unique way of dealing with this sort of thing. You do have lots of support on PS, and it also helps to express your feelings in writing just as you have done so well in this piece.

Congratulations on your POTD, Line. Gloom becomes blueness that becomes depression and then the destructive downward spiral. Well stated my friend. Enjoy your special PoetrySoup day! Bill
