As biology goes, I'm surviving,
a few aches and pains and a cough
and I check every morning when in the bathroom
to see if my bits have dropped off.

Now, father time knows where I'm living
and likes to make regular calls
which I know by the strands of my hair on the bedding
that have come from my head and my nose.
(Yes, I know what that last line should be, but it's a family website)

The condition called male pattern baldness
is feared by men everywhere
and even I've tried all of the creams and the potions
to try and save my bit of hair

A comb-over like Donald Trump has,
using all of the growth that remains
was still not enough to stop that awful tapping
from every time that it rains.

I even tried growing my eyebrows
as long as I possibly could
to comb them straight upwards and over the top
but that didn't look any good.

A hair loss clinic was suggested
so I phoned them and gave my details,
but I bought myself one or two different fedoras
quite simply in case all else fails.

Then the hair loss clinic gave me an update
which I wasn't expecting so soon,
they'd found my lost hair on a Camel's backside
in a market just outside Khartoum.

Bald Eagle in the sky.
Soaring oh so high.
As I watch the Eagle fly;
Brings a teardrop to my eye.
Bald Eagle diving super fast
Endangered species of the past.
Hunting grounds large and vast;
Bunny rabbit breathes it's last.
Bald Eagle now is quite content.
His nest now;dead rabbit scent.
Three baby eaglets:Magnificent!
Endangered no more,Eagle's intent.
Bald Eagle and eaglets fall asleep.
You hear no awws, you hear no peep.
On a mountainside,rocky and steep.
Endangered species never weep.
Soon ALL species will come back.
The ecosystem on the right track.
Without MAN it may stay intact.

Bald Eagle Sonnet

He circles around this rustic boat launch,
the locals know he nests in the pine trees,
fish bone at the base tell of his last lunch,
these birds like water, big lakes and sea.
White heads draw the eye, even if far off,
it’s clear why most men think them majestic,
he looks better still plunging for the waves,
into a trout yellow talons now rip.
Some folks snap photos from this rocky beach,
zoom in on fledglings with thin mottled heads,
they flap wings to fly, but it’s still a reach,
so they just hop back to their nesting bed,
it will be some months before they’re ready
to soar on the thermals, strong and steady.

Christ the Redeemer, Bless His Holy Name,
Amen, to the place called Big Bear Valley,
where hails our nation's bird, fair Cali,
the American Bald Eagle ... proclaim.
Naught bald or hairy, females are bigger
than their forever mate. Soars ten thousand
feet: eyesight eight times stronger than human
and they are indeed, the largest ... raptor.
Courting, sky dancing show, Cirque du Soleil,
can't beat their score. Biggest nest, atop tall
trees, their babies are called eaglets and crawl
and fledge but not too far. Grandeur display,
winged feathers of prominence. Humankind
edge what remains their last hope, be enshrined.

Unimpressed, she sits alone watching
There high above the river flowing
Sharp, keen eyes always scan, protecting
Her eggs are safe, awaiting hatching
Alone watching the river flowing

Jet air planes and speeding cars go by
As she watches from her perch on high
Then with stunning grace, she leaps to fly
Gliding, soaring, master of the sky
From her perch on high, she leaps to fly

The bald eagle impressed me that day
While watching her majestic display
As her kingdom there, she did survey
Turning, circling, choosing her way
Choosing her way, impressed me that day

The Strength of the Bald Eagle

Powers beyond measure with messages of the spirit,
the BALD EAGLE soars with might, so majestic I can hear it.
Bestowing freedom flying higher than any other bird,
and when in silence in the night his voice can be heard.

Symbolizing courage with intense eyes to catch prey,
the strength of the BALD EAGLE will always be portrayed.
The distance of mother nature providing such nobility,
has brought faith in humanity and given such dignity.

Powerful and robust is a BALD EAGLE in high flight,
a predator during the day and on the watch at night.
Native Americans see them as a leader for vision,
without restraints or impractical stipulated provision.

Soaring with grace as the American national emblem,
with those silky-smooth feathers, they fly with momentum.
Pueblo Indians associated them with energy of the sun,
holding great perception, and to never be shunned.

I once had a dream I was soaring with a mighty BALD EAGLE,
it meant freedom with great strength and that we are all equal.

Bald Eagle

Bald Eagle

I am rowing my boat along Crimson Locke
Up high near the top of a crevice of rocks
My loyal companion does see a long beagle
Which we both then see is a nest of an eagle.

The eagle does turn and thrust its beak into its nest
Watching its young while they are all at rest
The eagle is a proud mom and spreads its proud wings
She’s protecting the young of how her love sings.

She’s gracious of beauty of all heavenly birds
God is out watching and talking of heavenly words.

The bald eagle soars up through the sky
To hunt for food to feed their young
So they can survive and not have to die.

God is protecting all living things
He gave the bald eagle majestic wings.

Bald Facts

Hair today, gone tomorrow,
My follicles falling to my sorrow,
Ten thousand dollars to my surgeon,
Some people think I might be splurgin',
But I can't wait for my new hair to grow.

Bald Urge

Disoriented dreams
Freedom without snowcapped tops
Artificial hunt.

Horizontal wish
Waiting feather tips to grow
It is not too late!

The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey with spectacular aerial displays,
They soar and swoop and dive and glide ever so gracefully;
    Dashing predators in silent pursuit,
    Their brown plumage is beautiful.
They swirl and glide above jagged rocks majestic in the sun,
A particular place is their nest that they will defend till death;
Dedicated to their mates and protector of their chicks,
A bird to be admired for courage.
And how I love those mighty wings,
    And those feathered legs and claws;
Such strength in every wing beat,
Once a familiar sight in North America.
Endangered due to persecution and pesticides,
Now they are thriving again and out of danger in America;
A national symbol for their majesty, power, courage and resilience,
              So for me the Bald Eagle will always be the bird of choice;
So spiritual and full of dignity, a symbol to represent people,
Oh never could it be any other bird, although there are some beauties to behold.

They simply called him Fred.
He had not a hair on his head.
He was bald as a ball
From the bowling mall
But not quite as round it was said.

To a Bald Eagle

1.

Through salt’s spray, on Acadia’s Isle, you I see
A proud vision perched on the far tree
So remote, your features I can barely discern
Until your ivory head does slowly turn
Stacking lenses so your visage I may reach
From afar, ironbound shore has no beach
My heart sings at your distant majesty
From our boat, perfection you are to me

2.

By the garbage near the john on the Homer Spit
Your life a matter of raw sinew and grit
On the lamppost you perch, dirty claws
Fighting for scraps to ravens’ dirty caws
Part Oscar the Grouch, part national symbol
There is no high perch in this life humble
Now just a pretty bird, who’d have guessed it
Proximity would make you less majestic?
