Best Assyria Poems

Affliction of Assyria

The sun had grown dark on that fearful day
When Rabshakah, the Assyrian entered the fray;
Their armor and weapons glittered like gold
As they surged ’cross the plains to storm Israel’s fold.

But Hezekiah the king sought the Lord in prayer
To beseech God Almighty, His mercy to share;
The Lord would respond, then gave His command
To smite the Assyrian and deliver the land.

The Assyrian hordes were filled with flawed pride
Their faith in false gods, their treacherous guide;
They mounted their horses to charge for the gain
In their lust for the power that would end in pain

For the angel of death smote Sennacherib’s camp
And the fires of war were put out like a lamp;
The fields of green grass were transformed to a flood
That flowed on the ground as rivers of blood.

The legions lay dead with their eyes opened wide
And the host of their horses lay dead at their side;
The wind stole their cry from the pride of their breath
And gave its revenge in the silence of death.

The sons and the wives in their sorrow now weep
For the sickle of death had a harvest to reap;
The battle was won by the grace of the Lord
Who humbles the proud with the truth of His Word.

Hey you out there I'm here, but I'll sure let you dream
All you big boy burly sailors, I'll allure to your unseen

Even going back to my ancestors, away back, down Assyria way
Our goddess our love, Atargatis, became doomed by your say

To escape you, you men, who desired to reap your want
Why should she internally repent, to the depths, a Mermaid now sent

And now through your aeon of time, perilous events we've now shared
If us Mermaids had never have existed, you'd probably say you'd been spared

Even through the ages innocent animals have been accused
Is it your typical human we, it doesn't matter who's abused

Dugongs, Manatee's are beautiful, creatures of whom we've swam
Remember, you've never been the elite, ever since we all began

Hey, let me say, to your National Ocean Service, what makes you think you know
When we've been around so much longer than you, who says we have to show?

Noah survived the flood with sons Japheth, Ham, and Shem.
Along with the animals of the earth, God spared them.
With floods, He vowed never again to do such a thing.
God made a covenant with Noah and his offspring:
“You and your sons shall populate the world as you go.
Look up into the clouds and you shall see My rainbow.
This is a sign the covenant is everlasting.
All creatures shall thrive, along with each human being.”

Noah’s grandson, firstborn of Ham, Canaan was his name.
He had to serve Shem and Japheth because he brought shame.
Ham also gave birth to Cush; who in turn brought Raamah.
Raamah extended the line with Dedan and Sheba.
Shem was fruitful producing many generations.
Arphaxad and Aram’s progeny would lead nations.
Among Japheth’s seven sons were Gomer and Javan
Their descendents also had produced many children.

Among Ham’s descendents was a king who defied God.
A mighty hunter and warrior, he was Nimrod.
His kingdom had contained land from Babylonia.
Moreover, it stretched as far south as Assyria.
His great cities included Calah and Nineveh.
They lived on land between the Euphrates and Tigris.
His people united and strong were making progress.
Nimrod proclaimed, “We have one language and great power.
Let us assemble and raise a very tall tower.
This ziggurat will provide a stairway to a star.
We are an ambitious people, and we can go far!”
A new great city appeared on the plain of Shinar.
With formidable walls constructed with bricks and tar.
God realized these persons were filling with contempt,
He wished to halt their foolhardy fallacious attempt.
Perplexing their language among them caused confusion.
They stopped construction and divided with diffusion.
God’s almighty power can never be defeated.
Therefore, the Tower Of Babel was not completed.

A ziggurat is a temple of Babylonian architecture resembling a pyramid. It begins
with either a square or a rectangular base. Additional stories with smaller floor
space create a terrace effect on each level.

Beneath an orange sky and huge rainbow,
Mestor, free spirited son stops the flow
over his dad Poseidon,
God of the sea, rift widen
climbs upon his narwhal, puts on a show.

Setting off with bounding leaps through the waves.
Sunlit shafts shine in bright gleaming locks laves
beams, the beast travels full speed.
A fine beast a wreath of reed
around its neck towards Atlantis caves.

Mestor's unfearing icy blue eyes gaze
upon a dazzling mermaid saffron blaze.
Wind swept across her brunette
wet long hair, thoughts of a net
and human ways, hooted in shrill amaze.

Mestors woke amongst an ocean sand bed
of froth, sounds of laughter in the wind spread.
A glimmering pace along
the beach and a droll tone song
in the silver wake of the moon was shed.

In folklore, a mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish.[1] Mermaids appear in the folklore of many cultures worldwide, including the Near East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The first stories appeared in ancient Assyria, in which the goddess Atargatis transformed herself into a mermaid out of shame for accidentally killing her human lover. Mermaids are sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks, and drownings. In other folk traditions (or sometimes within the same tradition), they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans.

PRAISE ELISHA'S GOD IN HEAVEN!

"Go dip in the Jordon", he said;
The prophet who must surely be mislead,
But after travelling to Israel,
I will test this cure though it fail.

ONE

I dipped myself in that dirty trickle
Laughing to think God's favour so fickle,
As to above the rivers of Assyria choose
This little wilderness ooze.

TWO

I went in for my second dip,
with a curl of scorn upon my lip:
"Told you this Jordon trick was no good,"
Teach me to believe an Israelite this would!

THREE

As for the third time I dived under,
I had a tiny hope it would work a wonder;
If this was going to bring me some ease,
I should have seen lessening of the disease.

FOUR

As up from my fourth dip I came,
Looking, feeling and smelling the same:
I threw myself down upon the bank,
For my heart was turning rank.

FIVE

Five washes and I began to ponder Elisha's word.
Why set the Captain of Assyria a mime so absurd?
Didn't he know I could drag him off with jailers,
Sentenced for impudence and sorcery failures?

SIX

If I could feel the cold I would shiver,
Six times I have dipped myself in this river,
Across my form the illness still loomed,
To be a leper, it seemed I was doomed.

SEVEN

I am cold and my head is all aspin,
Now the water tingles against my skin;
If I didn't know any better,
I would say I was no longer a leper!

Balloons, bolix!
A ghostly flight…
A fight for airspace…
So much air…blowhard.
To sail the seas of America’s skies…
Look down upon the stretch of land.
It landed,
on the eyes of the Montanans.

Balloons, buffoons!
A clownish cloud
passing off a Casper-guise.
A surprise visit from Uncle Xi.
Tea cups fragile…weather balloon,
my $@#.

Balloons, BS!
Talk talk talk
of the atmosphere,
holding the rotund idol up there.
He won’t fall from his pedestal
on his own.

Balloons, asail!
Assailing, assaulting,
insulting. Assyria &
Babylon held ear
to the breakdown
of God’s people
elsewhere.

Balloons, bah-humbug!
Best pay heed.
Don’t get bested.
Poke holes in the intentionality.

Look To the East There Is a Faint Glow

can a man grow wheat with out seed
or fillfill up the sky with the clouds that nourish it
can he tread upon the stars the work of his hands
will they not return to Egypt
and will not Assyria rule over them
because they refuse to repent
swords will flash in there cities
Iwill destroy the bars of there gates
and put an end to there plans.

A Romantic Valentine

Crimson desire often keeps knitting a dream
I sail in an Egyptian boat in a blue river
Warm my breath with the woolen heat of the steam
From the buds while in a blooming rose you shiver

An insane day when I would look for the cue
And hold your heartbeat in my violin embrace
Pouring all my violet in the umbrella for you
And sit with the shadow beside your furnace

You know but for the rainbow clouds of your gardenia
The lyrics of my life wouldn't have been penned
A milky way peace from the skies of Assyria
Would not have descended with many a bend

Look at the roses tonight in the bouquet of time
Together let's enter the scarlet doors of our desire
Let me remind you will always be my valentine
Let's play our sitar and quench the orange fire

Look at the gondola into the doors ajar
The pink gladioli arriving in the sitar
For a brief poetry here we are campers
Come, let's fill our valentine reservoir

Time

Thou mighty monarch of “eartherial” scope,
the vicegerent and the viceroy of all fickle frame.
from thy womb lonesome vial sprung,
and the cavalcades of torrents bearing branches

Time
ere that chaotic cosmos regaled in darkness found a cloth of light,
Thou deccreest the bands and bounds by thine unvoiced speeches.
and when creation found a space in thy vast gale.
thy space was not submerged or muted in all affairs.

Time

As a conqueror, we see thy doings over man.
thy power over kings.
and thy victory over thrones
we stand aghast when arrogance is over.
speechless at the remains of monarchs.

Time,

where is Rome, where is Assyria?
Where is Babylon, where is Britain ?
Like carcasses in the wind
they crumbled regaled in dusty past of forgone memories
their days of Power are over

Time
Even now, thy watchers are in all cities upon all arms
when in rage the sword is drawn from the scabbard
some you kill.
other you honour.
and others you mocked.

May we in Time, find our paths ere we bid this earth farewell

I have written to him the great things
Of my Law but they were counted as a strange thing
My people have sown the wind but they shall reap the whirlwinds

Set the trumpet to my mouth
He that comes as an eagle against the house
Of the Lord must turn from
God don't forsake the Master of idols, oh, oh, no
They the people have transgressed my covenant
And trespassed against my law
No golden idols
No golden calves
Gonna save myself from those ruins
Israel, Israel shall cry, at last my god, My God we know thee
And when know thee but we do not, know not I

I have written to him the great things
Of my Law but they were counted as the strange thing
They were counted as the strange things

Israel cast off the thing that is good
Enemies shall pursue you sure
They have set up kings but not by me
They have made princes and I knew them not
Used silver and gold made idols that they may be cut off

I have written to him the greater things;
Of my Law but they were counted as counted as strange things
My people have sown the wind but they now know were they've been
They were, are counted as the strange things

Oh, Samaria has cast you off God say watch your steps or you'll be lost
Mine anger is kindled against them
How long, how long will it be here?
They that attain to innocence

From Israel was it also the workman made is known
It's not God, it's not God and the calf of Samaria the Calf of Samaria shall be broken up;
We all shall drink from the cup
it has no stalk the bud shall yield no meal and if so be it yield
The strangers shall swallow it up

I have written to him the greater things
Of my Law but they were counted das counted as strange things
My people have sown the wind but they now know were they've been
They were, they are counted as the strange things
Israel now swallowed up now shall they be accountable there's no pleasure
For they are gone up to Assyria on their donkeys Ephraim hath hired lovers
They were counted as a strange thing

Naught lowlife, but pro-life; pin-up; wildlife,
like the Mantis, or the praying Mantis,
cockroaches and termites, close relatives,
there are stick ones or grasshoppers, half-life.
A year's life, they are ambush predators,
female practices sex cannibalism.
Supernatural power behold-ism
Greece, Assyria, Egypt, past overs.
Mantis are the most common insect pets,
twenty-four hundred species, tropical,
temperate too, visions are stereo,
triangular heads with long-winged-like jets.
They take a commanding pose faced menace,
China has two martial arts-styled Mantis.

Key Verse – 1Chronicles 5:26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

[REVISED 2024 April 04]

Shinar, some know as Mesopotamia, others as Assyria,
near the Euphrates River, a midday sun cast doubts of
a weakened shade made idle by the pause of its agile
host, named Nimrod, son of Cush, grandson of Ham,
and Noah's great-grandson. No sign of depletion, hence
the shade returns to motion.

Nimrod is the soul ruler of the land of Shinar, host to
several ancient cities, one was called, Babel. Scripturally,
Nimrod was said to be a great hunter, and that would be
the length of it. Jewish and Christian texts are not able
to agree whereupon Nimrod's entry into the historical
record books other than what has been escribed in the
scriptures of the Talmud and the Bible, albeit, elements of
foreign records have cluttered historical accountabilities
and further strengthened pre-existing ambiguities, thusly,
a genre of conjectures misleads, and misinterpretations,
have made authenticity and accuracy to remain divided.

There are numerous variances, such as those accounts
between Jewish and Islamic customs or beliefs from
generation to generation, concerning Nimrod's and of
Abraham's first encounter, from that of a subliminal
meeting of minds, to the simplicity of a gnat that had
overwhelmed the mighty forces of Nimrod's army by
entry into his brain's that affected his abilities.

The accounts of Josephus concerning King Amraphel
whom Abraham did battle in Genesis, was Nimrod. The
Tower of Babel was built by the people whom King
Amraphel, being Nimrod, had ruled, and by that being
such, gave rise to Nimrod ordering the building of the
Tower in Babel. The Christian Bible does naught mention
that other than he, Nimrod, was a great hunter. I
believe it would have stabilize Josephus' claims.
