My God, Thank You For Stirring Up My Spirit
March 23, 2022 Scripture Meditations Based on 1Chronicles 1-5
Key Verse – 1Chronicles 5:26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR STIRRING UP MY SPIRIT
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your purpose
With Your power against sins that oppose
Within Your promises I believe in, not only suppose
Without worldly prohibitions attacking to interpose.
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your mission
With Your might against slothfulness-destruction
Within Your moving for soulwinning fruition
Without fleshly maneuverings corrupting my devotion.
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your endeavour
With Your energy against humanistic fervour
Within Your enthusiasm of righteousness’ favour
Without carnal enticements spoiling heavenly savour.
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your name
With Your nourishment against consuming pride-flame
Within Your nurturing satisfaction I can always claim
Without wicked noise attracting materialistic game.
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your honor
With Your help against reproaching dishonor
Within Your hand protecting my demeanor
Without evil hell-foes mocking in their hateful tenor.
Thank You for stirring up my spirit for Your glory
With Your goodness against deplorable misery
Within Your graciousness for godly victory
Without selfish greatness magnifying heroic story.
