Best Abide By Poems
*The feline Texan way*
A clean coat of paint - on my nails
Red shade of lips - on my smile
Solid oak charms - on my wrist
Country music - around my core
Flattering eyes - a rustic shell.
Join me in a "Country Girls Tale"
~~
Every day I draw near the morning dawn,
Abide by the landscape towards the new Texas sun
A track of yellow roses and cactus galore
I brand my name everywhere I travel
Allowing you near the bounds of my Wild West soul
I maintain it above the snake level everywhere I roll
Got my head up like a cowgirl,
Men around my black leather chaps
I tilt my bull hide hat leaving behind a sweet Texas Trail
Driving down a midnight Texan storm
It takes more than raindrops to knock me from my- “2-Steppin’ world.”
A windy ride, bruises under the hide taking it in like- “A Real Cowgirl!”
I got a tight hold on my saddle, holding on to a brighter morrow
Enjoying the voices and the sound
Tex-Mex lingo, round and round
Ropers and Wranglers are how I dress
I'm all covered, except for the top of my chest.
Living’ it up^, down here in the south.
Erin’ the lungs, shooting up the sport
Long necks’ and kissing under a rodeo’ moon.
Honky-Tonk, tattooing the mockingbird.
Down here:
You will see me sitting on the Country ground,
Peacefully staring into the optics of the "Alamo Stars."
Falling with the art found in the flag I hold.
I am The Wild!
I am The West!
“— A little dotty, but civilized!”
Enjoying the morning breeze,
Where the dew sits on the tip of Mother Nature’s tongue.
There and only there you will find me,
Under the brightest Texas Star

This Medusa had no power to turn us into stone
but when she ran aground over Poseidon's throne
his anger stirred, and into the sea the crew was flung.
On a raft urgently built of salvaged timbers we clung.
A hundred and more escaped before the frigate sunk
and after four days adrift, our number had shrunk.
With naught but salted sea to sate our massive thirst
I vowed not to give in. I swore I'd not be the first
to yield to temptation and drink myself to death
though feverish from the intensity of the sun's breath.
On the eighth day, hunger turned men into savages,
feasting on flesh in a moment of rapacious ravages.
Bloated bodies bobbled like apples off Africa's coast.
I contemplated my fate to become what I dreaded most-
being tossed off the raft, into a shark's clamping jaws.
To survive, no one had agreed to abide by man's laws.
I'll not forget the look of fear in the eyes of others,
sailors who once proudly called themselves 'brothers.'
Each of us clutched and clawed for an inch of the raft.
The feeble ones cackled as though they'd gone daft.
Arms and legs entangled among the living and dead,
as an alabaster corpse pillowed a sun-blistered head.
The demented swam away, flailing arms in roiling waves
until they perished in the depths of their turbid graves.
Alas the day, two weeks in, a ship sighted on the horizon.
Fifteen survivors with charred skin, lean and wizened
rescued from death's grip in a morbid human experience.
Men who'd given up on hoping for a timely deliverance,
their bodies emaciated, and their clothing, threadbare,
destined to relive the catastrophe in gruesome nightmare.

NOTE: In June 1816, the French frigate Medusa, ran aground off the coast of Senegal. Because of a shortage of lifeboats, some 150 survivors embarked on a raft and were decimated by starvation during a 13-day ordeal, which descended into murder and cannibalism. Only a handful remained when they were rescued at sea.

I salute you oh mighty time:
My best friend,
My worst foe
For
To live without you is simply
Impossible!
Throughout my existence
I have, unsuccessfully, struggled to accept
Whatever you brought to me,
Either it was a sweet smile
Or a bitter tear with
Equanimity
Since
I could not enjoy the one
Without
Suffering the presence of
The other
For
This, you told me, is the order of things,
This is what the heavens
Decree,
But
I, a fool ignorant, resisted!
Now, however,
Older and wiser, an obedient child of yours, oh time,
Have I finally become
So as
To abide by your universal rules
Of growth and decay
Without
Any complaints!

Personification
When I feel puzzled and perplexed,
When in the maze of conflicting thoughts, I am held,
Wondering how to proceed and reach the port,
Then Faith in God comes handy to my aid
Over the turbulent waves, as I get tossed,
The promise of His Word gives me courage.
His everlasting love, I feel in my heart.
On my scars it serves as a safe bandage
All I pray is to give me grace to adhere to a strong faith,
To navigate the complexities of existence,
To find meaning and purpose in this transient life,
And from the pestilences of life, to acquire resistance!
Yet, frail I am and when through trials and tribulations as I pass,
And when they upset my balance leaving me unsteady,
To you Lord, earnestly I beseech, not to let me down,
Never allowing me to get drowned in the eddy.
In this vast universe and in its amazing wonders
From the mountains high and the oceans deep
I see the working of your Providential hand,
That from death and all dangers our lives keep.
When questions arise shaking my trust and faith,
All I wish is to fully abide by Your Word,
Entrusting my body and my soul into Your loving hands,
And like a child cling on to the safety of Thy hold.

From glaucoma to chemotherapy
Medical marijuana has its place
But you won’t find any prescribed
In the conservative Sunshine State
Chris couldn’t eat while under treatment
Watched him lose one-hundred pounds
He had no access to an appetite stimulant
His weight was 85 when laid in the ground
Hefty Jen had lived a life of kindness
Taught spiritually uplifting courses
She suffered when chemo raced through her system
Until people said, “How beautifully slim her corpse is.”
When Dad’s glaucoma grew severe
He relied only on eye drops that made him tear
His gift of sight was taken slowly
Though THC might have helped his eyes clear
And when I first wrestled with ulcerative colitis
A college friend brought me a joint, said, “Try it”
Less than an hour later I was eating without pain
But laws are clear, Florida doctors can’t prescribe it
Research has proved there are benefits
Only medical marijuana use can provide
But those who worry about drug abuse
Say those who could benefit should be denied
Each day in the headlines we read of drunk drivers
Mostly teens who seek access through friends
And if they want marijuana, they find a way to get it
But for those who abide by laws, agony never ends
If smoking pot or ingesting a tablet of THC
Can help a person who is suffering great pain
Don’t you think the time has come
To ask prohibitionists to explain
Why people who are hurting needlessly
Cannot have access to any remedy
That soothes their aches, improves their last days
Diminishing the symptoms of their tragedy

Why do people always need s a promise.. To accept what you say..
Why do people keep asking if you are lying in anyway..
Why do people always needs a guarantee to believe what is said..
Because everyone is finding heard to trust everybody..
In life people will always share their experience of what happened..
Trusting someone and giving all in and all out. Everything of your own..
But someone have deceived them at once.. May be taking time deceiving all…
They have broken the trust without realizing the trust is cracking for all..
Everyone is looking for someone honest, someone trustworthy..
And someone who abide by the promise.. To live by what they really are..
Because in life.. Maybe once.. May be more than once..
Your trust was broken and deceived and life was trust was taken granted..
And it was hurting so bad even with tears you were breaking..
The beautiful words you saw with trust... in minutes... its shattered down..
Without trust you have nothing... Not even a single thing...
Not even a single one..
You suffered.. You cried.. Your tumbrel and fall with tears you ask why..
But you will never find the answers ever again in your life..
So a wall you build around your heart and mind..
Never letting anyone come to your life..
Because you remember what is was like to be betrayed and deceived..
And you worry that it will happen again and again..
you will be broken once again..
Not everyone is going to take your trust for granted..
Not everyone will deceive again..
So if someone is reaching out to you..
Don’t push them away without knowing why…
Experience makes a person stronger and it will show you the true reason..
Give that person a one chance .. Don’t doubt and don’t trust again at once…
Give it time and try to understand the true reason why..
But.. Trust yourself and trust your inner gut feeling.. And I am sure you will be able to trust someone again in life!!

Free verse
Love sets our hearts on fire,
not the city.
We abide by the eternal victory
set forth by life’s Word.
We are about the Lord’s business,
not the entanglement of choice,
not the frothing of the masses.
We kiss the feet of Jesus.
We don’t soak our own feet
while we spit hatred to the wind.
We hit our knees, black and blue bruised,
the devil crushed beneath.
Our prayers are real,
not tortuous to our mirrors.
We don’t think ourselves God!
We don’t lean into our every word.
We don’t deliver arrows to the great or weak.
Instead, we beseech the creator of our land.
We are wise as a serpent, harmless as a dove.
Peace is our governance.
We seek it.
We read it.
We live it.
And when we fail, and we do,
we repent and start anew.
Lies are not our gospel,
that is good news.
Pride comes before a fall.
Before you turn your finger outward
you’d best look within your own universe,
thoroughly, completely, no drawing back,
no hiding places. He who is without sin
throw the first stone. Boomerang!

Dramatic Monologue
On weekends I work as a guard, protecting swimmers at a pool,
and sometimes I have to be hard, when someone starts acting the fool.
Sometimes my action seems cruel, by anyone crossing the line,
but I am in charge of a rule that the council gave me to assign.
There has been feuding and fighting. Swearing and cursing I’ve heard.
I’ve broken up kissing and biting, and other things that are absurd.
Now I notice some people disturbed, by an incident sure to attract,
and because now this has occurred, the need is for me to re-act.
I saw the attraction so clearly, and this was a terrible crime
that needed me to act sincerely, and I certainly will this time.
A woman is holding her baby, while topless creating interest!
There is no doubt or a maybe; the babe is attached to one breast.
I said to her “Out of the pool! You can’t go doing that here.
We all must abide by the rule, and this one is perfectly clear.”
I think for a minute she thought, I’d committed a sexist attack,
so she replied “I’ll take you to court, and make sure that you get the sack.”
Then she asked, “Who was offended, by me with my breast hanging out?”
That’s when I stood up and defended, for what this orders about,
I said to her “Topless is fine, and that you had broken no rule,
but your baby stepped over the line. No food is allowed in the pool!”

Kingdom of Heaven
For there is but one that holds the key
with only one gate of entrance
so that the thief shall not enter
and when his sheep enter they are at rest
We can not build a tower to reach it
are even abide by laws of man to be good enough
For man is of Adam, who is of sinful nature
created of flesh and blood that cannot enter
ruled by the power of darkness and knowledge of man
that loves to boast in own work
and seek to please people for their pride
which all leads to bondage of death
Thankfully, Christ has come in flesh and blood
and defeated this captivity of the beast
For man tried its best to keep him quiet
and even killed him with a criminals death
because they can only see things of this world
oh how they love to be worshiped
for they claim to know it all but are blind
and keep leading others into the ditch
Christ came and allowed man to crucify him
in order to fulfill all the foretold prophecies
and defeat death with his sacrifice
For now he holds the key that can give us life
Christ is the visible of the invisible God
if one wants to see a sign
call upon his name
and your soul will be shaken
as the trees you see being tossed around by the wind
for you know not where it comes from or where it is going
but the effects cannot be unnoticed
we now have available to be circumcised
from our sinful nature of worldly things
That, Christ might enter us with his fire
to purify and mold one into a new creature
filling the cup with peace, love, and joy.
Christ came and paid the price
and to give us a way to the Kingdom of Heaven
For the Kingdom of heaven
is the power of Christ to reign and walk with man
in this moment and time
to speak from the lips and change the heart
to separate man from the power of darkness
that we might be given a heavenly body
that will resurrect from the dead
for flesh and blood will return to dust
But, oh Hallelujah my friends what belongs to Christ
will return to Christ.

Seeking Redemption Beyond The Horizon
While my mind ventures to unravel the origins of human enmities
Craves to stumble upon a most sagacious and diplomatic solution,
We journey on even when decency is absent without good reason.
Vestiges of a dream imbedded in pages shred to miniscule pieces.
Where did the promises that we had sworn to and to abide by go?
Were eyes blinded by a debris of perverted lies creating paranoia?
Transgressions orchestrated for their politically motivated agenda,
Enact crimes against humanity inflating an already distended ego.
There is no end in sight only the sanctimonious blather of the vile
Or those egregious behavior of autocrats and anarchists seditious.
We must beg the Spirit of Justice to lead and champion our cause,
Liberating hearts from dank dungeons where love remain in exile.
Time is of the essence to end disparities for polarity still envelops,
Like the devil's claw suppressing every gasp of humanity's breath.
The indistinct laughter, a dire warning, heralds an ominous threat,
No escape route or fence to climb, just a row of hangman's ropes.
Optimism's visions blindfolded, subjugated by menacing shadows,
Yet slivers of ethereal light penetrates impregnable walls of doom.
Opportunity transcends hardship driving back the insidious gloom,
It is within our grasp to ignite joy and douse the flame of sorrows!

It wasn't all that long ago when covid
choked the world with it's grasp.
People became anxious, some belligerent, when
asked to merely mask.
While others stock piled toilet paper to
wipe their sorry ass..
A million Americans suffered.
A million Americans passed.
Our health care system became overburdened
with such a daunting task..
People craving answers, turned to the experts to ask.
Our Ex. President gave misinformation with a
racist slant, calling covid the "Chinese virus",
he'd over and over recant.
Innocent Asian citizens were aggressively attacked.
This former President refused to abide by the precautions that
were advised. He wouldn't wear a mask and the medical community he criticized.
How many of us Americans would still be here today, if we had
stupidly injected bleach as this President once did say?
Four years wasn't all that long ago dear friends.
Is this the type of leader that Americans want again??

Crown Him, Our Christ!
When the saints march forward
Win the spiritual warfare in their bid
To prevail against the bits
Of don'ts
When heart- darkened sinners
Are saved,transformed
Are able to abide by the nook
Of the do's
We can with every confidence
Rock our regal swivel chairs
And say Christ has done it all!
Let's crown Him with many crowns!
When the balm of Gilead avails
To quench the crest of woes
The Eastwind blows
When the stream of Beulah flows
Into your deserted bosom
When Storms become stillborn
In the ocean's womb
By the voice Divine uttered
By our Saviour.
When your foes
Bolt with their hoes
From your glorious
And blessed Eden
They feel acrid fire
Behold how bitter the pangs
Of hell throes!
When many a sinner's heart begin
To melt into cushion
As many a sermon penetrate
Therein hook, sinker and line.
When the aroma of a victor's ointment
We smell
Thus have we every reason to say,
Let's crown Him with many crowns!
When Satan's big head
Is finally crushed into powder
And he loses complete interest
In our Bridegroom's dower
When to the Heavens
We all rise at last
And soar through the pearly gates
With yonder brethren
In a ride of billion sevens
We shall all wonder
Shout and say,
Let's crown Him with many crowns!

Listening, reaching for the Ideal,
her wanderlust- devoid of fear
Seeking the truth-
The Mother- crying for a thousand years
Of all the pain
Inflicted-
They are killing Her in every way
Carcinogenic ants raging wars
Creating immortal scars,
Killing Her giving heart-
She cries... FEW know
But She shows me the way
"There still is a place,"
the Great whispered in my ear, "of where hush and lull
still abide.
Free of the stinking, free of the rapists and killers
of My apportioned Nature."
So I listened and became raptured by the picture
She bestowed upon me;
A placidity, a serenity of depth and white
Where the pines yawn
And the constellations are radiant-
She begged me to try;
"Live my beautiful, faithful child
In the place of virgin
left only because THEY
cannot abide by it's harshness"-
"But YOU", she sang, "can consort with the beast and
the beauty to make all One, As I die
In all other places-
I leave you this small piece of Myself."
I screamed to her- Crying-"But You, knowing of All- giver of All
Why abandon Your post?"
"Because The cancer is burning My eternal flesh into
nothing.
Only I am no longer eternal."
and I understood- and I followed her lead
Now I stand in a place known to few,
To Her, to me, and to the silent melody
Of Wildness and White
My eyes filled With joy as I heard Her caring moans
singing to Sister Moon -
Through an assemblage of wolves,
as She winks at me through blue, pink and radiant emerald
eyes...
I know I am home.

They say follow your heart
Yet if I follow it I will sin
I want him so much
I would snatch him just like
I could a gucci bag
But my conscience goes
So I flow and I flow
All the while wondering
If I should abide by these laws
They say don't drink
People praise the lord
Yet still get tipsy
It makes no sense to me
He notices everything
Does he notice
That I've been bruised deep inside
Sometimes the cut hurts so badly
I cannot hide it
They say always be real
But if I relinquish my facade
I doubt anyone would be there
To see the real me
The one who wore her bleeding
Heart right in the open for everyone to see
I seal it up nice and neatly
Put a band aid were it's leaking
I'm a good girl at heart
But my gushing heart
Is depleating
I don't want to release the sins within me
It's becoming harder as the years go by
To sit by and pretend that I am not dark
It's just no one ever see's that part
Let's hope the band aid is made of crazy glue
