there was horrible, terrible, awful news in the chicken house
the hens were in a frenzy, because of the red white-tailed louse
He had not only stolen their eggs, but devoured them too
Then he had done the ultimate sin- ran off with a chick, Little Lou.
I Loath rain
Each drop akin a piercing sword,
Like swords dropping from mighty lord
Weighing my pain, and ravishing my heart
Sharp as light, wrecking my might,
Taking me captive as my heart is light,
From an extent unknown
To depths I've never known
And my world?
It's all but raining since you left
I sit by side of nothing
I see the view of abyss
A vague light is all there is, faint and frail
Shimmers of your shadow
Haunting me like a dying tale
My world is raining
As if rain is all that ever was
Grief lingers as my emotions wither into oblivion
A pale world is all it has become
lost in echoes, deaf and numb
A world ablaze with golden beam
Is now a graveyard void of gleam
The memories pain
The echoes stay
For haunting love I'm still it's prey
Bright is the night
And dark is the day
The world is now changing
The good will not stay
The stars have burned out
And the land has gone dry
Jesus we need a miracle
Just to get us by
Lord please show Your mercy
Breathe Your breath into our lungs
But God said no
And that was so
The awful end has just begun
Once I ate a defective Oreo
I’d imported from Lower Borneo
I’d spent too much money
My stomach felt funny
Then my 'plumbing' gave it the old heave-ho
The Scarecrow, he was born without a brain
And the Tinman got all rusted from the rain
Because the Tinman had no heart
And because the Scarecrow was smart
Instead of walking to Oz, he'd taken a train

The easiness and affordability to obtain things
makes us unaware of laborers who diligently
make them with sweat, creativity and geniality;
there's an air of fret: be ready to face awful times...
lurking on the bleary horizon with stormy clouds!
Wars wage on the planet, evil leaders show contempt;
who's immune to danger and death: are you next?
Americans and Russians defeated Hitler, the Beast;
little or nothing we learned from that victorious event!
The brave ones were sturdy pillars
that sustained an unbearable weight,
only soldiers defend their country at all cost;
drugs are killing the very young, heartless dealers
make huge profits from Fentanyl: where's their guilt?
Be ready to face awful times,
enemies are walking among us:
they controls everything from laws to wee;d.
they crucified Trump, they made him bleed!
I was from a poor rural county in Iowa
The kind that drafts young men during wars
Back in the late sixties many of our men went to Viet Nam
Some did not return, others returned damaged
Patriots, doing their duty, representing the USA.
Some of us thought so too, we did not understand
How horrible war is, or what it will do to a young man
Soldiers should have been respected and revered upon their return
Instead they were name-called and put down.
The average age of the eager-to-lease recruits was eighteen
A war that was misunderstood , a war that angered people at home.
One of the saddest wars that ever happened to our country.
The awful gift was given to us in front of a bunch.
I saw my wife and her mother grimace, so I had a hunch
They were not totally in love with this ugly bugly offering.
But it came from my favorite Aunt, we call her Aunt Zing.
Aunt Zing had wrapped it with a flourish, a ribbon of red.
It was tied up with fuzz balls, pearls, and a stuffed doll cat head.
I knew by the wrapping that she thought it was a terrific lamp.
It was so ugly it was cute, with jingle bells fashioned to clamp.
My wife brought it out whenever Auntt Zing came to visit us.
Pretending it was always there, not to cause any fuss.
Aunt Zing took me aside one day and said it made her feel joy.
Never thought she’d like this ugly buggly thing, she is a keeper my boy.
Some Mimosa trees are still bare,
such a deep sadness they declare;
lethargy is another form of bitter sobriety...
when sorrow looms amid spectacular beauty!
Luke after school assumes it's some April's fool...
remembering their yellow and bright blossoms,
will they be cut down and replaced with flowers?
He'll wear shades in the sweltering summer's heat,
sunglasses of black and blue and look very cool:
often he reads a book and falls asleep underneath!
Friends can be people or anything,
it's an awful surprise when they don't sing;
we like cheerful people, we like true joy...
spring is harmony, winter is monotony!
Any tree not fed by the soil will die,
we rely on the heartbeat to stay alive;
sheesh, our hair turns gray while leaves get golden!
They'll sprout again, we perish and can't return!

sometimes the pain is awful;
i smell you as if you were next to me
missing every part of you
your amazing features
your soft voice
i miss you more and more each day
one day the pain won’t be so bad
maybe i’ll move on or i’ll be with you again
whatever happens i’ll forever be grateful for each and every moment with you.
the best experience i’ve had
a...'full loss of why'
may be...
as..."full'a soap eh?!"
...so...
to...file lots'a 'why's
may require...
a...full-loss-of-pee
stans sand
But, without exception,
an imprecation to the old, a shibboleth
perception
then filters through:
the final, awful end of death
in view.
To some,
just their next breath
comes.
But, without exception
the final, awful end of death
comes.

This is a minichu:

I hope I have used these properly:
imprecation - curse
shibboleth - a part of speech that distinguishes one group from another,
in this case, the young from the old, distinguished by whether or not
they consider their mortality
An awful truth awoke,
it shook her head.
‘How awful’ she thought.
‘my life is stored away
in a cloud, in digital boxes,
in downloads and uploads
where I float as a head
smiling into my own mind.
When her husband
brought a cup of breakfast tea
she was far away from herself
chasing an unseen applause.
He kept the drapes closed
so that the light would not intrude
then shut the door quietly,
not wanting to disturb
the many images of her
that flickered behind
her darting eyes.
