ADRIFT AT SEA

ADRIFT AT SEA*
sea-worn bottle, 
bobs on a digital tide.
inside, not paper brittle with salt,
but luminous lines of light,
coded in metaphors and rhyme.

message tossed
into the sea.
unknown sender,
no harbor designated, no destination
on any map.

it drifts, a lonely vessel,
across oceans of indifference,
until…
a seacoast appears,
unsummoned, 
unexpected.

my eyes, the sand.
my mind, the beach.
I pick it up,
this delicate thing,
uncorking the silence.

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

It begins with a sky-split cry—
a blade of wind slicing the stillness,
gulls scattering like torn pages
as the sea holds its breath.
Then comes the first thunderstroke,
not from clouds, but from below—
the ocean remembering its anger.

The sea begins to speak in tongues—
lightning dances across the waves.
The ocean surges, climbs the wind,
rising in spiraled towers of spray—
a mind

Humpback Whales At Sea

Clicks, whistles and pulsed calls
coming from whales you can't see 
Within the compounds, no walls 
only ocean water and Captain Lee 

Sonograms and ultrasounds, its a joy  
when whale voices are heard ! 
Binoculars views, soon they deploy 
leviathans swim without a word 

The echo returns not for they do run free

     asked the Vipper of Vip
       to please tone it down on the trip

Snapping it up with so much zeal
The shiny black shag with its slinky eel.
The sand eel squirmed and slipped back to the sea.

You want to eat me said the edible eel.

Great Lego Spill at Sea

On a night with waves so high,
A ship sailed beneath a moonlit sky,
With cargo bound for distant shore,
It carried toys, and so much more.

But, fate had landed on a different course,
For the sea unleashed its torrential force,
The tempest rose, the winds did howl,
The ocean roared, an angry beast on prowl.

Smashing slashing gnashing storm at sea
Tossed the ships, sailors, Sammy, Elise and me.
We clung to the rudder and the wheel too
But she tossed us around like we weighed an ounce or two

Hold on! The first mate yelled to the skipper.
I can’t! He yelled, as the storm gave us a new ripper.

 Waves of strife
Casting me about
My voice tries to shout

 life becomes a roaring sound

No map to lead

The Traffic At Sea

I throw my hands up in the air
 And wonder what was going on over there
The ship has just dock at sea
And the coast guards were running after thee
 And tugs boats were standing by
To send an urgent message to the mischievous sky
The sea crew had gathered around
To put the pieces together that had gotten
