Story Pin-bilde

- Lighthouse Saves Lives At Sea -

They were completely taken by surprise
The "dragons" come as thick fog
apparently, cushion-soft
Fascinated, but worried and afraid
- rolling wet attack over ocean

Dangerous to sail
it will require a lot of knowledge
In the fog, every wave
and every sound is amplified,
the familiar becomes strange

On top of a windswept cliff
there stands a lighthouse
with its magical light
It is the salvation, without a doubt

The terror and danger of foggy conditions at sea, are evoked by this poem, as well as the relief of seeing the lighthouse-a beacon of hope! Best of wishes for the contest. :)

A thrilling read, Anne; well crafted imagery. I love the sea. And mysteriousness, like fog and breaking waves over the bough. There was a crazy fishing charter captain that would take me an my buddies out in the worst weather. Closest I came to losing my life was when I dropped 2 cases of beer in the drink while attempting to get on the boat in windy conditions. Talk about mad Irish buddies. Thank God the cans floated, and we were able to fish them out before casting off.

A lighthouse is salvation for many, no doubt. When the atmosphere is shrouded by a thick veil of fog, sailors will feel so lost without a lighthouse to show them direction. All the Best dear Anne. Hugs!

Wonderful, Anne Lise. What would the ships do without the help of the lighthouse? Lovely poem. Best for a win.
