Off The Map

I took the road less traveled
to hear if a falling tree
with no one around
(aside from yours truly)
does make a sound
but lost my way
veered far astray
and for the life of me
couldn't see
the forest for the trees
but if I could
it would feel so good
not a bump on a log nor lump on a stump
as then I'd be out of the woods

Gone Astray

like a lost sheep I often go astray
He always comes to find me
and leads me gently home

past is a lamp for our feet
and a light for our path
like an accomplished teacher
it comes to our rescue
any time we go astray

Astray in the Dark

Some shall never see the truth,
I've been this way since youth,
The mask I wear is layers upon layers of paint,
So many that facial features appear faint,
Unable to see due to this dark veil,
Just praying that my feet will not fail,
This prison created by my misguided will,
A deep maze walked by society's swill,
Knees and palms strike dead dry soil,
Lead me back to the 99 and from this toil,
Glory I've taken is now all yours, Lord,
My trough has been hit and I have been floored,
Help me stand to live with no more mask,
Please Lord to be with you is all I ask.

The Tunnel

Little does my mind rest
Wailing and scraping at the walls of my brain
The feeling of being lost forefront
Guiding lights leading me astray
To find the end an impossible outcome
Yet lying down to die not even a choice

Trying to break the patterns I’ve set
Failing to change who I am
Maybe I don’t need to change
Just find a way to accept myself
Though my mind may never rest again
I refuse to let the static kill me anymore

All we, like sheep, have strayed
From the good and righteous way
Choosing a shepherd to lead the flock
Is the difference between pasture or rocks
One will feed and nurture the sheep fold
The other waits over the edge, below

Follow the Black sheep to the brink
Or the false shepherd, distracted with drink
Go your own way with little light
All will bring you to a disastrous plight
The Good Shepherd leads with rod and staff
To protect, and guide on a true and safe path

It Seems We've Gone Astray

Across the sprawling hills at a place called Arlington.
A gentle place where dreams and hopes still live on and on.
It's where gentle wind blows down across the way,
It fills those marbled halls and there they will stay.
In those walls where dreams became reality,
In these halls a group of people made this country united and free..
A perfect union dedicated to freedom and equality .
A group of people from all walks of life.
Gathered in complete unity.
Yet today those words seem to have lost their way,
It seems they somehow have gone a stray.
Those fine men on that hill across the way,
Sit and wonder is there one who can show them the
Error of their ways.
Is there no one who shares the hopes, the dreams and the
Need for unity,
Is there not one among you who still believes in the words united and free

Mistake To Avoid

by using eyes to
Indentify wise people,
you can go astray.

Lost

LOST
                                    misled
                               found astray

                         " If you  listened to
                         daily parents advice
You would not  go back in pit."

"Lost now  as  you  ignored wisers."

Sailing a boat
Out to the sea
Waves and wind
Rain and haze
Will carry us astray
Our ability to control
Is not that simple
Even a small boat
Even a small world
We can be lost
Sometimes
We can rule our hearts
But never our fate
And so
Never the rest of the world

Ex Glande Quercus - From Acorn To Oak

The final springing of the year
May well decay, anon, I fear;
The sun could flaunt its dusk, for then,
I've marked my three score years and ten.

The morning's fire has lit my days
And led astray in many ways.
But twilight dun will trespass when
I glean my three score years and ten.

Yet sadness nil will ill my cheer
About the springtide of the year;
And should I pray, as e'er I sleep,
My three score years and ten to keep.

Why the world is full of
Miseries and sadness
Are they a catalyst to activate
Your senses
Your eagerness
Your perseverance
For the truths and the true happiness
And a test for you not to go astray
From good teaching
To learn the truths by processes
And trials of life

Soulfully Pray

Soulfully pray
And you won’t go astray:
With your bent knees’ offer of luminous ray
You always shall see as to not end up Satan’s prey
Nor the sought dish on his demons’ tray

With soulful prayers you sniff a lurking fray
That could badly discolour a day
And make a man like an ass bray,
All the way
Us readying for an undreamt-of sick bay
 Or a hospital’s bill we can’t pay...

So, with soulful prayers
You ‘ve started voicing your nay
To all barriers,
All of them ordering to get cut of your way!

Astray

The weathermen led me astray;
I canceled my plans for today.
Expecting some rain
I thought I’d refrain
From an outing an hour away.

Instead, there is sun in the sky
So the question I have to ask’s why
When they make their report
They may come up so short
Or, much worse, they might out and out lie.

We are fools if we always believe
What we hear, for the “facts” may deceive
And when Nature’s involved
Truth is rarely resolved
For she always has tricks up her sleeve.
