In silhouette of fervor hovering
That meanders vivid upon the night
The hum of music from so long ago
Romances the air... a twirl, a lyric
While tunes of mist stir of rhapsody
Along the harbor to fling and gently play,
A rhythm of craving beats, as lips intone
love's silent quiver, still as secret whisper;
From this earnest heart deepened by time
When dulcet songs of wind now fondle
Breaths' charmed trails gushing on- and on--
And words become an impassioned call
Deepening my hymnal interludes;
As our mellow kiss jangles like chime of bells
Slithering like a windblown mantra
....Luring my beloved at sea to come home.
lizardly he slithers in
nursing his sloe glass of gin
lightning flashing from his eyes
functioning to disguise
who and what he really is
rolling pairs of snake-eyes
in the air a venomous hissing
is there something I am missing
Days Alone
Here I stayed
when the silence broke—
the air, a breath
that barely woke me.
Your name lit up my phone,
but the meaning felt long gone.
I cried alone
to feel the sorrow,
a night too dark
to hold tomorrow.
The rain stood still,
in borrowed time,
each drop a pause
in my decline.
Soft, endless,
unheard—I spoke.
The truth was raw,
my voice near broke.
No comfort came,
no hand to hold.
Just aching hours
growing cold.
My tears weren’t rage.
They weren’t despair.
They were the proof
that no one cared.
You never came.
You never tried.
And I, in silence,
sat and cried—
until the ache
became my guide.
Until I no longer
needed
anyone
to say they tried.

COFFEE AND CROISSANTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Coffee's rich scent, a drink at morning’s first light,
its aroma wafting through the air, a sweet delight.
The delicious croissant, flaky, buttery, and fine,
a pastry perfect in its semi-circular design.
Together they unite, such a splendid pair,
coffee's boldness and the croissant's international flair.
So, here's to coffee and the croissant's charm,
a morning ritual best consumed when both are warm.
A DOG'S LIFE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I reign as king in a sovereignty supreme.
I sit by your side gazing, the world whizzing by.
From a rolled down window, a kaleidoscope of colors mesmerize.
My ears flapping wildly, a joyful delight.
The rush of air, a thrill to my canine soul.
As we speed along, the highway our open road.
The engine purrs, a tranquil hum.
The sun beats down, a warm embrace.
The miles fly by, like autumn leaves dancing down a street.
I feel alive in this wild, open space.
The scent of freedom, a fragrance so sweet.
The thrill of adventure, a canine story to tell.
My tail wags freely, a happy beat.
The wind in my fur, a soothing caress.
Surely this canine has been blessed.
The sun begins to set, a fiery glow.
The stars appear, a twinkling show.
The engine slows, a gentle ease.
Our journey's come to an end.
I snuggle close, a contented sigh.
For it's a dog's life, and I am hypnotized.
A year has passed but not July’s shiver,
the bed is warm and in the air a chill
yet it’s not the cold that makes me quiver
but the eros of our winter idyll.
She is up and rising at the cockcrow,
her slumber over, her allure begun -
she comes to me parting her wet furrow
and I am inside the gates of heaven!
That matrix of life and morning glories -
that corona from sunup to sundown
and brightest of all celestial bodies,
my lips desiring its luminous crown.
All else forsaking at dawn’s early light
I lay smitten from our midwinter night.

Note: Maroochydore is in Australia
on the Sunshine Coast, Qld.
I lived there in the late 90s.
A burdened mind strolls an empty street
A pendulum in vacuum forever swings.
A soulless me finds solace in suffering,
A bankrupt balance my life ledger brings.
Discovering depths from a wishing well
It's not a straight life, but an intricate maze.
I take the outline of the empty square
and patiently paint colours, blending glaze.
A meadow full of roses...no melancholy
blowing the pristine air, a seductive flute
empty chambers create melody of music
through silent struggles, passions unmute.
My heart of pearl in the hollow of a shell
embraced now abundance of everything.
A barren winter changed to flowery fields
as dreams enraptured in a verdant spring.

Whisper of the Elements
In the stillness of the twilight hour,
A witch’s breath, a whispered power.
Elements old, in circle bound,
Their ancient secrets swirl around.
Earth, the roots and bones of stone,
She holds the weight of worlds alone.
With soil rich and fertile loam,
A cradle for all life to roam.
Air, a sigh, a tempest’s flight,
She dances soft, she rages bright.
Through forest glade, through mountain spire,
A breath of life, a witch’s choir.
Fire, a spark, a blaze of might,
A guiding torch in blackest night.
A flame to warm, to burn, to forge,
The witch’s will, the spell’s bright gorge.
Water, winding, deep and clear,
A mirror to the heart’s own fear.
She carves the stone, she cools the flame,
A river wild that none can tame.
So in the circle, here we stand,
With moonlit sky and ancient land.
The witch’s chant, the earth’s own hum
By these four powers, all things become.

Sometimes my heart breaks
With music that was never played
Epiphanies swell and create
A still that I could never have foreseen,
A wonderful that is beyond soul’s grief
A tenderness that feeds the moment gentleness
A silent truth that arrives with autumn tones
A moment in time, fading, so lauded
Erasing the distant past, sharing time
That will forever last…
Breaking through the morning blue
With a touch of all the fresh and new
Dreams beseeching grace that is so steady
Risking the dance to awaken the pure
Rising in the heart, a kindness, a breath
Like the wind, she gasps and sails through the air
Remembering the sounds of everlasting expressions
Song in the air, a music so accepting
Melodies of light, softly playing on the night
Forbidding the heart to leave, forgetting the heart can easily deceive….
Winter’s chill is in the air, a frosty gasp
washing twilight in gentle, glistening songs
breathless dreams hesitate, rising from God’s grasp
hopeful hearts reach out, knowing their love belongs
wintery tongues tell their lies in glowing rhymes
washing twilight in gentle, glistening songs
each life is filled with blessings in pleasant times
I sincerely believe in His blazing fire
wintery tongues tell their lies in glowing rhymes
His love is taking me higher and higher
without Him, I’d be baffled by the wild storms
I sincerely believe in His blazing fire
because of this awesome love, who always warms
I keep praising the One who died on that cross
without Him, I’d be baffled by the wild storms
this love and grace I attempt to get across
Winter’s chill is in the air, a frosty gasp
I keep praising the One who died on that cross
breathless dreams hesitate, rising from God’s grasp
In crisp fall air, a crowd's joyful football roar
Trump stands with a smile, a leader to adore
With banners flying Army, Navy-- the rivalry's fierce
A moment in time, where spirit won't cease

Voice of spells and havoc
A broom that takes flight
Observation sight
All delight
Turmoil with no Lestoil
Devil Witch
Fine body twitch
Several magical powers at her disposal
Beckoning calls in spell transcends
A witch with no end
Never pretends
A Wicked Witch
In the air a Witch who lurks
Progressing her own perks
One spell causing dilemma
Broom forward ride
The Witch taking it all in her stride.
I dream of you in shadows deep,
In quiet moments where I weep,
For all the love we could have known,
Had life not claimed my heart as stone.
I loved you then, I love you still,
But duty bound my wandering will.
I walked the path I could not flee, And left our dreams beneath the sea.
Your voice, it echoes in my mind,
A distant song I cannot find.
I feel your touch in empty air, A ghost of love that isn’t there.
The weight of family pressed me down, To wear another kind of crown.
I chose the road I had to take, And broke my heart for others’ sake.
Yet in the quiet of the night, I long to hold you, hold you tight.
To whisper words we never said, And breathe the life we left for dead.
I see your face in every star, A light I chased but couldn’t spar.
The ties that held me kept us wide, Two worlds apart, two souls denied.
Forgive the man I couldn’t be,Who loved you more than you could see.
For in my heart, you’ll always stay, A love too deep to fade away.
In Rhythms & Silence- Rajit
The sun, a brass gong,
a brassy, blazing command,
it wakes the world,
with a fiery, golden hand.
The air, a hesitant breath,
in a nascent, cool embrace,
now exhales,
warming with the sun's grace.
The earth, a jade canvas,
in emerald light, it lies,
dappled, vibrant,
shimmering under golden skies.
The trees, a verdant legion,
stand tall,
reaching for the sun's rays,
in an arboreal, vibrant thrall.
And then, a slow descent,
the sun, a tilted coin,
it's light, a slanting fire,
on a canvas, now stained with wine.
The earth, in ochre draped,
hushed, in golden afterglow,
embraces the waning sun,
as shadows lengthen, softly grow.
The wind, a sigh of cool air,
brushes the twilight sky,
with the day's farewell,
as night's curtain begins to lie.
And on the tongue, the lingering taste,
of sunlit warmth,
a fading, sun-kissed sigh,
a promise of dawn, in the heart of the night.
