ADHD - Our rainbow

The red in us is our fierce, tenacious high energy
Passion like a fire, 
a real warmth to our personality
The green is the spring in our step
and our coolest composure under pressure
We are remarkable at holding it all together.
The yellow is our brightness, our endless ideas that shine
The blue is the natural flow of our imaginations,

ADHD - Don't trip up over something that's behind you

It must’ve been a season,
not your full story.
But every season builds our endurance,
another step towards the glory.
It has helped you realise, 
you need time to heal.
Sometimes we do really need to sit,
just sit and feel.
Pick up the pain, don’t focus on the lost time.
Its all a part of the plan, 
you’re going to be just

ADHD - We can do hard things

We can do hard things

Yes we can, we can be the better man,
or woman.
If that seat looks uncomfortable, 
bring a cushion.
We do not walk alone,
our world is not so dark
We all have our superpowers
and our individual spark, 
We shine and make our mark.
And it shouldn’t feel scary,
we need to embrace the journey.

ADHD Believe in its brilliance

No I won’t be afraid to speak my mind.
I’ll speak it with empathy though, I promise to keep it kind.
No I won’t be contained by negative thinking.
Not anymore.
All of those thoughts are to be mopped up off the floor.
No, thats not me, 
I am persistent,
consistent, 
resistant,
a brilliantly bonkers personal assistant.
On the outside I am anyway.

I didn't choose an ADHD brain. At times a random whispered thought, barely connected, pops in uninvited, insistent to be acknowledged and immediately included in my conversation… 

Most of the time it's a detour, with minimal disruption. Thoughts drift, barely nudges the adjacent car, and our cars wobble… we stay on course…

ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVE DISORDER ADHD

The boy was as quiet as a viper
Often talkative and very hyper
One thought crossed another
Another topic intercepted the other.

Running…Running…Racing thoughts
Too…Too..many to be caught.
He jumped and jived that young little boy
He sure had ways to actively annoy!

Poor little fellow…they gave him pills
To settle him down and stay still!
“He lacks attention!”
“He needs detention!”
That’s what they thought and

I Feel All

The tag behind my shirt,
Feeling like your covered in
Dirt.
Except,
There's nothing there.

You just feel unclean,
But there's no trace seen.
Cars beeping,
The tv is on,
Someone is playing a song
There is too much
going on.
I need to stay sane
My sensory is overwhelmed once again.
Its making me want to yell.
Stillness is needed,
Otherwise I'll get heated.

Let me tell you about my experience with autism and ADHD
From moments of forgetfulness and yippee dee 
Sorry I lost track now where were we 
Oh yes 
About autism and ADHD 
I see the world in colours 
All bright and beautiful
I notice the most annoying sounds 
But I could tell you all about musical theatre

Mr ADHD

Mr ADHD....

I'm Mr. ADHD,
it's plain to see,
Just to be my friend,
you must be crazy.
Let alone my partner,
that's my forever Be,
I love my girl,
as she's crazy like me.

My mind's a rollercoaster,
no brakes,
no stop,
Thoughts racing,
bouncing,
like a pinball drop.
Hyperactive energy,
can't sit still,
In this ADHD life,
it's a constant thrill.

Medications try to tame the beast inside,
Ritalin,
Adderall,
they try to guide.
Speed's got

Living Loudly with ADHD

I hid in the SHADOWS, where whispers feel FAINT,
Thoughts tangled in RIDDLES, faceless and COLD,
With MEMORIES flitting, like ghosts that will PAINT.

Each task feels a CHALLENGE, the world moves SO FAST,
With lists barely CATCHING a glance that won’t HOLD,
I’m here but not THERE, like a ship’s sail CAST.

Yet in the MIRROR, I’ve grown to RESOUND,
Found

Sweet Contradictions

I'm a little too much, or at times not quite enough,
I'm too sensitive, too distracted or at times just too tough. 
I'm too in my head, or say hurtful words without thought,
I'm super focused on the ball, and then suddenly, energy's at nought.

I either notice it all, or see very little
I can be softly spoken

More is Less

How you feel is not enough,
You as this is less than function,
Avert the feel, replace with stuff,
Or suffer states, disjunction.

Comparing scrambled eggs to buzzing locust,
To the mumbled mind within you,
Hocus pocus, lack of locus,
There's too much to think or do.

Is it magic, the spectacle, the prance of flicked rays?
Distracting as you navigate your ways,
Through this

The Devils dance

My words evade me
Sweat forms in beads
My tongue betrays me
At lightening speed

Quivering knees
Disarm my stance
Panic breeds
The devil’s dance

Something akin 
To mourning hope
Runs through my skin
I fail to cope

I babble more
To ease the hush
They must abhor
My need to rush 

Attention Queen
Or rambling freak
I didn’t mean
To over speak

Golden retriever energy

Squidgy, and layers of softness

So sickly, it’s yellow

Push me and shape me

Gelatine-free

and never fully set

I long for warmth and comfort

Never opaque

Vulnerable, in my mellow

My eyes, a book to be read

Transparent, in my lack of mystery

Terrified by streams of novels

On each day’s invisible stage

If they could see my elements

As I transmit,

A warm Welcome aboard the overthinker to all our guests, 
Especially Mr insomnia, and Mrs overthinker, both frequent flyers and our VIP guests
I'll be your minds captain for this flight, through awake all damn night,
And then on to good mornings beaming bright resort in daylight,  
We have no nap-overs or drifting-offs scheduled
