Inside the Spectrum: A Poetic Memoir

I'm just living a life of an one-eyed AuDHD dude,
Always repeating the cycle every single day
As folks think I'm acting like a robot,
And always having an undisciplined heart.

They say it's not always seen from the outside,
With history and video games is all I think of
Yet they see me as a young Sheldon,
Thinking being smart is a big blessing.

But I still look like a nerd
As if they see me as a nobody,
I'm still a spud in my eyes
As I'm too different for anything.

ADHD

What does ADHD stand for?

Some people say it stands for
Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder.

I prefer to believe
ADHD truly stands for—
Attention to every Detail
and a Heart full of Dreams.

Remember this
important truth:

While ADHD
can challenge you—

it can reveal
the strength you
already carry inside.

ADHD Adventurous, Dynamic, Helpful, Daring

It's just who I am; yes, I have ADHD,
But that diagnosis doesn't define me.
Granted, it has its flaws; my mind is far from harmonious,
Yet sometimes I see with such clarity, it's pure utopia.
When I write poetry, creativity comes over me—my happy hour,
And seeing what others can't see, pareidolia is my superpower.

Vicious Cycle

Wake up
Don’t get up
Procrastinate
Hours pass
Self-hate
Wake up

Hauntingly clear

Scattered belongings
Expired dreams
Incomplete ventures
Silent screams

Abandoned ideas
Deserted supplies
These walls, whisper truth
Nothing real survives

It reeks of intention
All purpose, decayed
The flesh is long gone
While carcasses stayed

Representing my failures
With invincible bones
Symbolic skeletons
Adorning my home

I’ll never escape
I must reside here
To dwell in regret
It’s hauntingly clear

Premium Member Ode to My Brain

Ode to my bipolar brain
Creativity is my favorite thing
Despite a memory so short
And ADHD of course
Poetry is a sign I’m insane!

Premium Member Sleepless Energy

Attention deficit keeps
my dear man from normal sleep.
He does not know dream stage zees
yet achieves much more than most.
His energy is endless
despite sleep deprivation.
My love lives life wide asleep.

ADHD - Don't trip up over something that's behind you

It must’ve been a season,
not your full story.
But every season builds our endurance,
another step towards the glory.
It has helped you realise,
you need time to heal.
Sometimes we do really need to sit,
just sit and feel.
Pick up the pain, don’t focus on the lost time.
Its all a part of the plan,
you’re going to be just fine.
You did put out your whole heart,
its what we do,
we open the book,
full, honest words,
 and truth.
But now,
don’t trip over something thats behind you
Trust and believe you a still taking steps up
Remind yourself you are a half full cup
Full of faith, ideas, hopes and dreams
Without realising,
one day the season will have passed
and you’ll see that sun beam
Unfortunately sometimes,
someone is not who they seem
Don’t trip. don’t let it slip, or grip.
It’s behind you.
You grow through what you go through.

ADHD - We can do hard things

We can do hard things

Yes we can, we can be the better man,
or woman.
If that seat looks uncomfortable,
bring a cushion.
We do not walk alone,
our world is not so dark
We all have our superpowers
and our individual spark,
We shine and make our mark.
And it shouldn’t feel scary,
we need to embrace the journey.
Jump into joy,
express imagination and energy.
The enthusiasm we bring,
the willingness to try new things,
we are blessed,
we really should sing
Now imagine the chaos that choir would bring.
Yes ok, sometimes we do forget that important thing.
We might become insecure sometimes and cling,
Also we are masters of how to wing,
difficult situations.
But our courage,
now that could shake a nation.
Flourishing, hyperfocused, accomplishing great things.
Shut the door on the paranoia,
take a breath, rest,
let it go.
Because I promise you.
We can do hard things you know

I Feel All

The tag behind my shirt,
Feeling like your covered in
Dirt.
Except,
There's nothing there.

You just feel unclean,
But there's no trace seen.
Cars beeping,
The tv is on,
Someone is playing a song
There is too much
going on.
I need to stay sane
My sensory is overwhelmed once again.
Its making me want to yell.
Stillness is needed,
Otherwise I'll get heated.

Autism ADHD and me

Let me tell you about my experience with autism and ADHD
From moments of forgetfulness and yippee dee
Sorry I lost track now where were we
Oh yes
About autism and ADHD
I see the world in colours
All bright and beautiful
I notice the most annoying sounds
But I could tell you all about musical theatre and other interests of me
Like quizzes and history
Like when they started running the first presidency
It was George Washington then john Adams and the rest is history
But King George did tax there tea
And started a protest called the Boston tea party
Sorry Im going off tract again
But that is what it is like inside my brain
I could run barefoot in the rain
It would not bother me
I enjoy little quirks and moments of hyperactivity
Because its what makes me me

Living Loudly with ADHD

I hid in the SHADOWS, where whispers feel FAINT,
Thoughts tangled in RIDDLES, faceless and COLD,
With MEMORIES flitting, like ghosts that will PAINT.

Each task feels a CHALLENGE, the world moves SO FAST,
With lists barely CATCHING a glance that won’t HOLD,
I’m here but not THERE, like a ship’s sail CAST.

Yet in the MIRROR, I’ve grown to RESOUND,
Found STRENGTH in the CHAOS, my voice won’t FADE,
Imperfectly DRIFTING, in my colors UNBOUND.

Sweet Contradictions

I'm a little too much, or at times not quite enough,
I'm too sensitive, too distracted or at times just too tough.
I'm too in my head, or say hurtful words without thought,
I'm super focused on the ball, and then suddenly, energy's at nought.

I either notice it all, or see very little
I can be softly spoken or when annoyed can sound brittle
Without words my face tells you all you need to know, but I promise you this, I really don't mean it to show.

I'm either full of self confidence or fueled by self doubt, I know it's hard to understand when I still haven't figured it out.

My life is such a sweet contradiction you see,
So hard to live this modern life, when I'm not sure who to be.

I do have some great traits though I swear,
I am creative, loving and have crazy ideas out of nowhere,
I love with all my being and care so deeply,
That my head and my heart are at war so uniquely.
My head says act how society wants you to be,
My heart screams back, that's just simply not me!

So please try not to judge, when I'm just trying to find me.
I'm simply on a journey, to navigate life with that thing called ADHD

The Devils dance

My words evade me
Sweat forms in beads
My tongue betrays me
At lightening speed

Quivering knees
Disarm my stance
Panic breeds
The devil’s dance

Something akin
To mourning hope
Runs through my skin
I fail to cope

I babble more
To ease the hush
They must abhor
My need to rush

Attention Queen
Or rambling freak
I didn’t mean
To over speak

ADHD Experience

ADHD is
A blessing, a gift, a curse
Given to the strong
