"ADHD"
In the still of the night,
my thoughts are racing
and need erasing.
All I have to do is use my pen,
then the art of writing begins,
the thoughts become silent.
Flowing words onto paper is reliant!
It helps me hide from ADHD for awhile,
It shows in my face with a sincere smile.

My mind
unstable foundation.
They keep talking,
through dreams, comes communication.
A combination,
another citation
never any satisfaction
(Look over here, another distraction)
Formation into another illustration
division by another diversion.
So, what version can take me out of isolation?
(Wait, murder? I thought this was multiplication.)
How many live there now? I need some information.
Because if this conversation involves a congregation
then call for an assembly, it’s time for orientation.
How many are there? I think this is beyond regulation.
It’s time for a confession!
(Why? There has been no violation.)
The situation may be a possession
But I do not have the protection of religion.
Nothing in moderation
We do not need validation from an administration.
The revelation has been in question.
Objection! This is all just speculation.
I’m getting a suspicion that there have been signs of manipulation.
There are signs of depression and in addition
I would like to draw your attention to the blatant exaggeration
and ask for your cooperation
So, we can move past the persecution
to focus on the solution.
The verdict is in!
What is the conclusion?
To Be Continued...
She’s not right.
She has something wrong with her.
She has a screw loose.
She’s got problems.
What is wrong with him?
How do we fix that?
I am no doctor but….
Having several issues myself, I am
Hypersensitive to these kinds of
Statements.
Yet I hear them all the time.
Yesterday a substitute teacher called
Me, and I figured she was saying this
In front of the entire class, “I am calling
About Henrydexter. What is wrong with him?”
I was instantly ready to run down there
With my sword. When you have been the victim,
You recognize the bullies faster than others.

The clock ticks on as I glance around the room
Just a kid being a kid you assume?
Wrong! I suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
“Grow up” they say and act your age
Medicine after medicine that make us zombies is all the rage
I can’t even sit still
So their solution? Give me a pill
I trapped in my own sea of thoughts that crash over me like a wave
They all scream “WHY DON'T YOU JUST BEHAVE”!
It isn’t that easy don't they realize?
Am I supposed to be quiet, prim, and proper like a little prize?!
I’ve been here before
Knowing what to expect
Or so I had thought
This time, I’m perplexed
Similar exterior
I gave little thought
But the inside is backwards
I, surly, am lost
This was not the first time
I assure you, I’ve felt
That I’m losing my mind
Losing touch with myself
The crowds were blurred
My feet were planted
They knew, where they were
And took it for granted
Becoming a child
I felt so afraid
I prayed for a grown up
To lead the right way
Desperation, like heat
As it moved through my veins
Searching my pockets
In hopes to find change
Nothing came free
I already knew
But I’ve lost everything
A panic, would stew
Flush cheeks, sweaty palms
I’ve developed a stutter
Don’t slow down for me
Move on to another
Strangers, annoyed
I’m just in the way
Anything that I do
Turns out, a mistake
Yet another feature
Starring ADHD
Make me a teacher
Dignify me
My brain and my heart are submissive to ADHD,
I’m not sure what version of this is really me,
I’m knocking on the door and there’s five of them,
All of which are made of the same tree,
I can’t help but ponder him,
Which one is reality?
The door opens finally with a warm smile,
A shy guy with a mirror for a face,
Reflecting a poor fellow who’s been gone a while,
Tell me why I’ve been replaced?
The answer comes through a hymn,
Behind the next door that I chase,
A beautiful voice without a trace,
It’s tugging the strings of my heart,
Keeping me alive like the ones on a guitar,
I didn’t understand it then,
When I took everything for granted,
There’s another knock at the door,
It’s my feet on the floor,
Why is my head in the clouds when I’m planted to the ground?
I decided to lay down, I can’t do this anymore,
Suddenly I’m falling backwards through the door frame,
I’m on my back looking at the sky where my head has been,
Into focus comes a set of hazel eyes,
She takes my hand and to my surprise,
Once again I hear the hymn,
Is she really this into me?
My head no longer feels like lead,
No longer do I feel like laying in bed,
Through the final door,
Follow me, she said,
I feel the wind on my face,
The clouds are done,
I can feel her warm embrace,
Followed by the breath of the sun,
Finally I open my eyes,
As I’m getting a lay of the land,
She caught me daydreaming again,
And I didn’t hear a single thing she said.
I look at them all
with their heads in their book
then I peer out the window
what's that? Have a look!
A squirrel passed by
and ran under that tree!
At this very moment
I must go and see!
Get back in your seat
pay attention to me
Now's not the time
to be wandering free
You're distracting the class
you rude little child
you must stop acting
so random and wild
But teacher believe me
it really isn't me
its just the affects of my ADHD
I don't mean to be naughty
or rudely interrupt
but the way that i'm wired
makes me act quite abrupt
I sit myself down
and I try once more
but am further distracted
by a sound at the door
What's happening out there?
I'm dying to know
my imagination runs wild
and refuses to slow
Oh not again
are you listening to me?
Why can't you focus?
Why must you be
too easy distracted
by a sight or a sound
always the one to stand out
from the crowd
but teacher believe me
i've told you before
my ADHD's
not a thing to ignore
I'm not like the others
I have different needs
less noise for me to focus
less sights for me to see
This time I sat to listen
but a thought popped in my mind
I had to let it out
though I knew it weren't the time
the thought is like a bubble
and it fizzes round my brain
I have to voice it out
or i'll simply go insane!
That's another interruption
I cant take it anymore
you'll have to leave the class
walk straight down the corridor
your behavior I wont tolerate
it simply will not do
let the head decide your fete
let him tell you what to do
I headed down the corridor
was going to see the head
but then I had another idea
for me to do instead
I seen people playing
on the playground outside
so I went out there to join them
until it was home time
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD,
Seems I don’t have the ability to concentrate inside of me.
I get distracted by the simplest of things,
Hey, that was a foul! What are you looking at ref?!?!?
And cannot focus on…Ha ha, look at that guy’s bling.
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD,
Oh, did I already say that?
Hey, what’s this spot on my hand?
Do you think it’s something I should get looked at?
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD,
The doctor suggested some unusual therapy,
Said maybe I should try writing poetry,
Maybe focusing on that could help fix me.
Honey, why haven’t we installed the wireless mouse, yet?
The wires almost knocked over my drink.
Now where was I?
Oh yeah, I was going to write a poem, I think.
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD,
I should look that up on the Internet.
What time is it?
Cindy, is Spencer home from school yet?
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD.
How many times have I written that sentence?
Oh, there’s Spencer. Hey, you want to go out and play?
I’ll write my poem later today.
>
I’ve been diagnosed with Adult ADHD,
Although I think they are full of crock,
They say I have a problem concentrating,
I say that I do not.
They challenged me to write a poem,
I can do it – I’ll show ‘um.
Hey, somebody answer the phone.
What’s this – is somebody writing a poem on this PC?
Oh, was that me?
Honey, what was it the Doctor said I had?
Oh yeah, Adult ADHD,
My wife said, “If that’s true,
It’s the only thing ADULT about you.”
Very funny, Honey.
Now, what was I doing?
Oh look, Ohio State is on TV.
Maybe I’ll come back to this later – whatever it is I was doing.
Attention Defeceit Hyperactive Disorder
Split the letters out of the words
You get ADHD out of them
Let's take a closer look
Find out another meaning
To the condition.
A is for achiever
Accomplishments with honors
Passing with flying colors
A confident being with *****.
D is for diligent
Quick on your feet
Sharp as a tack
Ready for the challenge
To take on tasks
And complete them right away.
H is for hope
Keeping the faith
Looking at the bright side
Turn things around
Hanging onto your dreams
Working to make them true.
D is for dynamic
A real go-getter
You get back up
When you fall
Not taking no
For an answer.
ADHD
ADD
AHD
DHD
HD
D
A
No matter how you spell it
Nor how you may look at it
It has many meanings
You take a closer look
And play around with the words.
Every sound is screeching
Every voice is wailing,
Larger than life.
No stillness
Never.
Every eye is on me
When I have to go up there
Alone
The whole class is waiting
For me to
Finish
They say they need it to pass the test
Or they want to have a good time
But their laughs make our struggle harder
The kids who don’t take Adderall for fun.
How?
How is that we shall remember.
Remember many things, least of all to dream.
Dream dreams of yesterday and tomorrow?
Dream.
Dream dreams of today, one will go, one will stay.
Ours to keep?
Keep one eye on want you want and one on what you've got…they say.
To keep an eye upon the dreams,
seems such an easy thing, but leads instead, to
Enormity.
Enormous pressure and contemplation
with mounds and mounds of piled up words
and lessons learned.
To sift through, takes patience.
(Something that I haven’t got).
But, Oh please, I will listen, if you will tell.
How do we keep an eye on what it is we dream,
When perhaps it seems to float about without visibility?
To find it, just point in the direction, and with or without certain introspection,
I’ll set out upon the task to it's projection...
still, how, I ask?
I sit and wonder.
Wonder, Wonder... Wonder.
Wander... wander, my mind wanders.
Too late, my mind now wanders.
I have set out on a path, another endeavor.
Oh well, I must add to my list...
this dream thing-very important.(underline twice)
**geeeeet baack to ddrreeeeams, period. NO! no. Yes. exclamation!
(There, that should do it).
I'll dibble dab and squiggle on my pad
like a mad lad and if it's good it's bad and bad is good,
words are misunderstood,
not could, wood, should or hood dudes
in moods too rude to queue for food,
seeking frozen pudding by the dozen to chew,
bless you,
ah chew,
bless you too.
A cousin, a mother, a mister and a brother
working together insisting there's no sinister blister
against the shift shifter sister
whom is unlike the others
with legal troubles hiding undercover with her sibling lover,
seagulls hiding seashells while being carried by eagles along a jigsaw,
what a puzzle eyesore.
I'm a random at my own ransom
out to write away from the way
I normallay lay out a poem with
a deep or a vanity or a political or a e ore,
let the donkey out the door, or a lyrical write,
light in the eyes reaches the brain in disguise,
logics leaks, yep plural, so unusual,
and the thread escaped my head
in a cape and vest and eluded arrest.
Poetic insanity projecting out of me but original after all,
you've never read a poem like that before,
because that's a poem there is no demand for!!
Welcome to a world of ADHD,
seldom hair curls of weeee beee jaych ceeee.
Staring at the screen.
Wanting to scream.
I know the material,
I want cereal.

I wish I was a brid,

I'd come back for english, just not math,
and then I could poop on Mr.Bradstreet's car.
that would be funny.
MATH.MATH.MATH.MATH.MATH
uhhh... this is not my subject...
who decided numbers were too friendly, and to spice it up with some letters?
I dont know, but I would like to give them a good talk
about how they ruined everything.
People start packing up,
the bell is about to ring.
I scribble down some answers quickly
And shove the paper into the blackhole
named my bag.
then head off to english,
were things are simple opinions,
and I dont always have to be wrong.
meh....
I wonder whats for dinner?
**********Note:******
Every-time that I have a problem...ADHD get's in my way...so, don't say that it is

When some-one make's
Me angry....
I get ' ADHD '
So, don't blame me
------
I shout out Loud
And then, I slam the Door
I walk around "in"Circles'
Then fall out on the Floor
And choose to ignore
The People that I,
Just want ignore....
------
Every-time,
That I have a problem...
That good old " ADHD "
Just kicks' in
----
They used to call
It an emotional out-burst
So, which is worst
-----
I went to the Doctor
Then, I went to see
A Nurse....
But, in lacK and in search
Of an answer....
I hope sincerely,
That the Lord get's
There first.....

I'm dyin' inside
And I don't know if
I was ever alive
On these streets
It's all too much
Lookin' at myself
It's all too much
Thinkin' these thoughts
One day is a day too many
But one less day
Is one day too few
Thinkin' one day at a time
My thoughts spinnin'
Sloshing around my noggin
Scrambling my senses
Confusing my actions
Beneath a lense
I squirm and look away
But they're just eyes
Do they see me at all
It's all too much
Surrounded by people
It's all too much
Fermenting alone
But I get bored of people
When they don't understand me
So I lock them out of my mind
Speaking in a tongue they can't contemplate
The only walls surround my mind
And I can't quite articulate how tall they are
Nor can I really break through them
So I lean against them
Words spoken and mirrors broken
Shattered glass around my bare feet
Symbolizing the people I meet
I'm terrified to move and face defeat
Friendship, love, and fellowship
These concepts are foreign to me
I thought I knew but I really don't
I think I need it but don't want it
Loneliness is the oxygen I breathe
Solitary confinement the water I drink
Antisociality is the clothes on my back
Fear is the shelter I cower in
It's all too much
Thinkin' about it all
It's all too much
This ADHD me
