Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother 1900-2002

In 1959 when I was nearly ten
HRH the Queen Mother was in Kenya
and to an engagement on the way
with no escort whatsoever
in a black Humber Pullman Landaulet
my Mum and I who were the only two
on Forest Road (now Uhuru Hwy)
standing at the end of the drive
waiting by the Nairobi roadside
for Her Majesty to arrive
soon she came and leaning forward
tapping the chauffeur on the shoulder
to see our front garden she bid him stop
and admired in wonder the colourful three
bougainvillea which had climbed to the top
of a very tall silver birch tree
cascading like a waterfall in a riot of colour
then personally to me Elizabeth gave
(a treasured memory in 2024 at 74)
while gazing at our amazing floral display
a smile and the world-renowned Royal Wave

Try not to get scared, scariest stories
I was just in my room, socking it. That’s when Larry and the creature, and they pickled my chilli dog, and that’s when Larry. I was driving in my Bergen truck, drunk, that’s when I saw a deer, I was later pulled over for DUI and killing a deer. Asgore. Once Diddy diddled my diddle he did. James?

Twas Christmas 2002

‘Twas December, two thousand two;
Christmas, of course, and my main thought -
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

With a broken leg, I’m in a stew,
my house, the only bare spot.
‘Twas December, two thousand two.

Grandkids, my volunteer work crew,
tied my heart in a granny knot.
decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

Porch lights strung, manger scene askew,
my approval, they earnestly sought.
‘Twas December, two thousand two.

Front window tree, last thing to do;
they attack it, never being taught.
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

Year to remember, grandkids, do you?
a Christmas I have never forgot.
‘Twas December, two thousand two;
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

2000-2002

Class of 2002,
this year is at it's end.
Juniors we will be next year,
while keeping our Sophomore friends.

Although I will be leaving soon,
I take a part of this school with me,
Knowing next year will be a newer place,
where you'll no longer be.

I take each memory shared by us,
the good, the bad, just them all.
Through each day I'll think of you,
our bonds standing me up tall.

We'll think our time is getting near,
we'll be so happy and proud.
But when the time is actually here,
tears will fall in a cloud.

No matter where I go,
I'll be with all of you.
As you'll be a class of Seniors one day,
So will I, just with someone new.

Dedicated to: Roane County High School, Class of "2002"
Sucks I had to move away.

36 Years 2002

Let us rekindle the flame of love again
and stir up memories
when we were young
and had no fear of growing old
but time has passed
and here we are as vintage wine
whose time has come
to blossom to a sweet bouquet
so let us rekindle the flame of love
again

A Baby Cries - 17 December 2002

This world of creativity…
Wonderful our Creator must be.
For you and I are here today.
Our sounds touch the air.

I am praying by a full moon.
The Motion of this universe
is where my thoughts are.
There where I tread the Presence of God.
I thank Him for His Wisdom.
I thank Him for He loves me.
He the Rhythm of this universe.
The Sound of this Air.

30 some years since
On the moon we were.
How old "our" then ?
How old "our" now ?
We played cards a few weeks befor,
We played cards a few weeks ago.
It was near full then,
It's near full now,
30 some years since last
We were on the on the moon.

First Love (2002)

Fading in
Fading out
Waves that come
When there's no doubt
That love is near
And suns are close
You feel the one
You need the most
Its all about
Even though
Stood on shore
Waves to toes
Under amber skies
Touching seas of blue
All I'm thinking is:
Why not with you?

The Compound (Hotel California 2002)

A bad taste washes around my mouth,
I screw up my face to spit it all out.
Over Nevada desert and endless sands,
This nightmare place such lonesome land.
Dark night skies over high wind seas,
Sat on the shore, it washes over me.
Blue washed to black as black became deep,
To unknown depths these weak limbs sink.
Darkness, darkness pushing me around,
I stand to fight, but always fall down.
Darkness, darkness covering this compound,
I've searched for light but it's unfound.

Premium Member Hawaii /Cauldron of the Crone 2002

A froth of turquoise topped waves
pummeled the lava stone
grinding asphalt-black slabs into bits which hugged the waters edge.
Skeletal shards of white coral were scattered
amongst the dried, scorched after birth.
Relentlessly, the ocean pounded
leapt with a jet-engine roar into the air.
Balancing droplets of salt water
upon lichen covered shelves and prominences of pitchy rock
Growth in the cauldron of the Crone.

2002-2008

St Judes sent a picture of Bryce
under it two big numbers
counted out a small life
I said to myself
"He lost his fight."
one of the plights
of human life

every month St. Judes
send's a picture
one of the little ones
fighting cancer

every month
i say a prayer
"excuse me God.
are you there?

here's this little one
trying very hard.
cure this childs cancer,
if You can find it in your heart."

now i'm wondering
what i'll say today
looking at the picture
it's usually time to pray

now is time to ask Him
does praying really matter
when i say those words
does someone get better

if God is God
how can anyone get sick?
if He really loves us
He'd take care of it

long ago, God made St Judes
it was one of his answers
He made up for you

so if your still wondering
if God still answers prayers
take a look at St. Judes
and you'll find answers there

Untaken Advice - 2002

She can't remember a woman who gave her ever so great advice
Instead of taking it, she risked her life on a dice
She told her how to respect and love herself in her youth
She didn't tell her what to do; it was her decision to choose
She warned her of dangers of the streets and drugs
She warned her not to go past kisses and hugs
She didn't listen; she hit the road and tried some smack
And on and on it went, and there was no coming back
She then got sick from an angry man who raped it her
She lost her mind, she was crashing, but too late to get clean.
And the young woman died from the sickness at only nineteen
The woman heard about the her death and thought it was a dream
If only she had taken a thought to the wise woman's words
She could have been saved if she had listened to what she heard

Free - 2002

I am free, so totally free
Yet the anger still lies in me
So many tell me, let it go, let it be
But I tell them it is so plain to see
I will though, one day get over this
I will one day find the one for me to kiss
But until then I feel trapped
Though really I am not
In reality, I am totally free
